Like many other things that get too extreme, (cars, drugs, porn, etc) when guns get too extreme they need to be regulated.

The funny thing is I have a rig like this on a Ruger .17HMR rifle to shoot nocturnal predators of my small scale poultry hobby farm.
But I also have an AR-15 that I decided to keep due to the insanity in our country right now.
I think more people that are left of center should come to the understanding that a firearm could be the only defense against a MAGA fueled fascist takeover of America. If the Constitution is abandoned you will want a weapon.

While I'm not super huge on the 2nd amendment for a lot of reasons I've got nothing against you taking out predators on your land with a handful of exceptions based largely on me not knowing where you live and what kinds of animals live near you. The American Crocodile (probably not your problem) is threatened in Florida specifically and Endangered outside that so if a croc is about to eat your goose you take one for the team! LAst year a wolf was killed in Michigan, first one seen there in over a century. He gets to eat your duck. In the hunter's defense he had probably never seen a wolf in real life, thought it was just a bulky coyote and I don't hate him.
How long has the country been insane? Even if we date from when Trump first came down the escalator we're still a few months from a decade of genuine crazy! Its okay you have the AR. But you just want one.
If the Constitution is abandoned however either the government turns on us and we're pretty screwed or they don't. This isn't1775 when most people were at least in theory self sufficient. (even that's not really true but lets be nice) This an era where the military wouldn't need to go house to house. Cut off the electricity, gas and water and wait. While obviously 'The Walking Dead' is not a documentary but do I REALLY need to convince you of exactly how long its going to take Elizabeth to watch her child wasting away because there is no food to turn on you? How long Robert 'Bubba' Jones is gonna watch his family freeze to death as far south as parts of Texas and pretty much all of the North East in a halfway bad day let alone the every few few years 'Snowmageddon, Snowzilla, Storm of the Century insert here' The hurricane that if FEMA isn't bailing people out is gonna get REAL bad REAL fast?
