Defining Love

Didn't your mothers ever tell you two that it's not nice to talk about people when they are not around :D
My mother taught me to be kind to the elderly, the infirm, the weak, and the unfortunate.

She taught me to bake bread and wash dishes. She taught me to smile when I am complimented and to always say please and thank you.

I'm too old to remember any other lessons she may have taught me. :D

I am not elderly (yet), infirmed, weak, nor unfortunate........but it's still rude to talk about someone when they are not around......especially when you are calling them names :D

I don't recall any name-calling, but if you think some sort of punishment is in order, just remember that he who puns last puns best. ;)

Hooch, I'm glad you dropped by to share some of your story with us. I particularly liked your point about discovering yourself here - or learning more about yourself. That has certainly been my experience.

And as for the pleasures of watching someone blossom here - I don't know that I've had that experience but I can imagine it happening easily.

This was not a woeful ramble, by the way. If you want directions to the Woeful Rambles thread, send me a PM (I don't want any of my regular readers to know how to find it - they might find the grass is greener over there).

Oh, one last thing: the Frappacino is in the small refrigerator in the kitchen. Third door on the left after you pass through the atrium. :D

I just wanted to say That I also agree with yankee about your post Hooch ,very insightful ...and also thanks for the pm's ..made me smile..

I didn't know you were a Frappuccino aficionado. Do you want to become one of the charter members of the FFC (Frapp Fan Club?) You've already "outed" yoursef, so might as well become a card-carrying member.

:D
Thanks, but no thanks, Hooch. ;) The frapp supply here is simply for those who indulge. I'm not one of them.

Those who know me know these things: I drink my coffee black, my scotch neat, and my water cold. I once was offered a taste of a foofrah thing from Starbucks (something god-awful like an eggnog-flavored lattΓ©!!) and even though I risked disappointing her, I declined quite heartily.

Here's a new definition of love: when two people who take their coffee completely differently can still enjoy each other in the morning. ;)

GREAT definition, MWY...

And I used to drink my coffe black, but the older I got, the more I felt like indulging with a few variations. I don't do the frothy, mixy things at Starbuck's, but the bottled Frapp is good to me on a couple levels.

Same way with my scotch... as a purist, I am sure this will sound repugnant to you, but I enjoy mine on the rocks.

Ah, variety, right?
Rocks is fine - for those who like their scotch a little sweeter.

I know that sounds like a put-down but it's not. A small amount of water mixed in with scotch usually makes it taste a little sweeter.

See - now we have re-defined love yet again: when two people with completely different tastes in drink can enjoy each other's company completely.

Do beer and scotch mix, for example? Of course!

Good morning to you all! I'm starting to get thristy! And to add more mix to the mix, I drink ice cold milk, any temperature water and occasional soda (yes, Yank, caffine-free diet coke)! I'm thinking though I should send someone my bottle of Dewars, since it only sits in my cabinet, ewww how do you people drink that! When I did drink it was the White Russian that would do me in, well, especially when it wasn't all that white anymore!

Hooch, I think you were more than elequent with your thoughts. Very well said, thanks for sharing!

'Morning, ladies. :rose: and  x 12 for each of you.

Love defies definition, for inthe definition, love becomes limited, restricted to someone's interpretation.

Perhaps, but we're having quite a bit of fun talking about it. And some of us are learning a little bit too.

Learning is a big part of loving yourself actually
Caring to acquire more knowledge really opens ones self up to more exciting possibilities and perhaps new ways to make yourself AND others happy.. :)

I know for a fact that since October, when I started writing again and spending more time online...I have become a new person. I am not afraid to step out on that limb and really reach for what I want anymore. In the past I have always taken the safe easy road...not anymore. :D

A lot of this is built on the framework my parents gave me over the last two and a half years...and a lot of it has t do with all the love, affection, and SUPPORT my Beloveds have given me. There are also all the people here who have supported mne through mood swings and everything else. :)

THANKS!
