Defining Love

You had better not leave MT.....how can I define love without you? Oh wait, that's the Defining Lust thread ;)
Lust is when every-day objects in your life take on mew meanings because they remind you of someone's body.

Just thought I'd give you a start on your new thread, GG. :p

Morning Cate:rose:

can I ask ya ...what did ya mean by Unblocking trust??

I feel trust is always waiting to be given, however some of it just HAS to be earned
Dream if I only knew......

I don't trust easily. On the surface I do or appear to trust. But real trust is something that doesn't come easily to me at all.

I've always been independent and rely on myself for most everything so trusting someone is foreign to me. I know it is something that needs practice but for me to give my trust is a leap of faith in a tangible way.

I have faith in the unseen, far more easily actually. But to give that to someone has been one of the most difficult tasks in my life. I suppose lots has to do with my background and also that when I have given my trust it wasn't honored.

I'm not saying "Well I tried, it didn't work, so I'm not trying again" but I also find it difficult to not recall those experiences when attempting to trust again.

That said - I'm stubborn as hell too.

So Yank, what you are saying then is that your beloved looks like a vacuum cleaner?

MT, I think if we try to define lust we will be perpetually doomed to spend the rest of our Lit time in the YKYSFW thread :(

Cathleen, trust is something that grows within and right along with a relationship. There is a huge difference between trusting someone when they say "I'll call you in the morning" and believing he will really call and then trusting someone with your bank accounts. Each is a matter of trust but it comes in levels.

And having a small portion of yourself that lacks trust is just part of being smart enough to protect yourself.

I am biting my tongue here to keep all the unworthy puns from spewing out in a hail of wit.

This one was truly lousy.

As in: a nit is a louse egg. To pick nits is to carefully comb through another's hair to remove the nits.

:p

But wouldn't that be a definition of true love ~ to comb the nits of out the hair of your beloved? :p

That defines unconditional love for me.....which I reserve solely for my children. I have to draw the line somewhere!
