‘Deep Throat’ revealed as w. Mark Felt



W. Mark Felt has revealed himself as ‘Deep Throat’. He made the claim to Vanity Fair magazine.

For more than 30 years he says he was the unidentified source for two Washington Post reporters. They uncovered the Watergate scandal that brought down the Nixon administration.

Reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein had vowed not to name the source until after his death. Felt was an assistant director of the FBI. He is now 91 and living in California.

I don't believe a word of it.
Deep Throat could have very well been a vehicle in the book to bring out the facts, but in reality doesn't exist.
Bernstein and Woodward collected alot of information from all over and needed a way to tie it all together.
Deep Throat fit the bill nicely.
Just because some old guy of 91 or so claims to be Deep Throat just dosen't make it the truth for me.

Washington Post: Former FBI official Mark Felt was 'Deep Throat'

In a statement issued later, Watergate reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein said, "W. Mark Felt was 'Deep Throat' and helped us immeasurably in our Watergate coverage. However, as the record shows, many other sources and officials assisted us and other reporters for the hundreds of stories that were written in The Washington Post about Watergate."
