Most of my family and friends are from the east coast so I've acquired a taste for that acadian/newfie humour. I could listen to that accent all day *sigh*

Sorry, I am blessed/cursed with the Peter Jennings type all-canadian voice. I can do a very realistic acadian and newf accent though.

I wonder if you're anything like my college roommate was...she sounded like your typical canadian gal til she got excited about something and the acadian would fly.

There was a guy from Richibucto NB on a course that I was on at Aldershot in the UK. Great guy and he was well liked by the rest of us but his speech and syntax used to confound the beejesus out of the Brits and me.

We were out on a TAB (their version of a forced march) and I was trying to push him a little when he came out with this little gem (spelling is phonetic as above and incorrect)

" Cawlisssss "Expertise" you wanna' race, we race, But I tell you dis mister man you make me sweat...and I make you sweater!"

I fell to the ground I was laughing so hard.
