Decadents and Dropouts IC

"Since when does anyone have to earn a gift? Then at least come and enjoy the bath with us. You will like it" Verialyn was a little sad that Relic had such a low opinion of herself.

She followed Sven into the main building. The boy led them up one flight of stairs, and then down a hallway. At the end of it he pointed to three adjacent doors. "These are your quarters, you may distribute them as you wish. Mrs. Ovida, if you would tell me which one you are going to pick I can arrange for your luggage to be brought up here."

Then Sven pointed to the door opposite the three rooms. "In there are three bathtubs. The hot water should be ready in about ten minutes."

As the boy was about to leave Verialyn could not help but ask him "Will you be there to scrub my back?" with a friendly smile. The boy looked at her, blushed a little, then gave a shy smile of his own and left.

"Well, let's get settled in. I see you in the bathtubs in ten minutes." Verialyn strode towards the door farthest down the hallway.

Phyliss Ovida

"You will. i don't want to make a bed impression." Phyliss chose the room in the middle. She was really happy with it. The owner did like to show off his wealth. Some people she knew would have objected the combination of colors and other details, but nobody was perfect. She waited till her clothes were brought up. She stripped quickly and put on the black bathrobe with green patterns and some of her own soap. Then she walked over and went through a door, ready for a bath.

It was around twenty minutes later that Relic entered the mansion, her horse fed and brushed and content. She had been trying to go slow in her duties, but found that with the help of the stable hands all the chores were completed within half the time. She had procrastinated for a good five minutes just rechecking her blades, but eventually headed inside.

Sven pointed her to the rooms, and she soon found the others. One hand held her bags, the other was pulling her hood down when she stumbled into the bedrooms. Two would already be taken, so she took the third. The bed made her want to just melt into it, but it also felt slightly wrong to enjoy it so much.

She wouldn't sleep outside though. That was rude too, right?

There wasn't much to do apart from put her gear down and take out her spare white ruffled shirt, a pair of dark leather pants and a belt that looked rather new. Of course if she had of been wearing it, then plainly it was too big for her and she wasn't the original owner.

Meeting them in the baths, she turned her back as the bath was filled with steaming hot water and undid the tie on her cloak. Letting it fall on the ground as she sat on the bath and removed her boots, pants and undergarments. Her shirt was the last to be removed and she quickly slipped into the water to hide her figure.

A sharp eye might have picked up a few scars here and there, otherwise she had surprisingly soft smooth skin. Her feet and hands here stained darker than the rest of her, and the water turned a brown colour within seconds.

Phyliss Ovida

"I wonder if her skin will have a different color when she gets out." thought Phyliss. Relic acted as if it was her first bath. Maybe it was - she hoped not. The gordon took of her bath robe. Her skin was smooth and perfect, without any scratch or scar. She knew a lot of people had been curious if gorgons had pubic hair. She did have, but just a little, black stripe. Phyliss climbed into the bathtub, looking quite happy and a bit playful.

Verialyn checked out her room. The large windows of the corner room together with the light wall color made it a bright and friendly affair. She put her bag and sword in one of the wardrobes, but not before fetching her dress for the good occasions from the bag.

The dress - if one would call it such - had been all the fashion rage. In the cities to the far south, some 120 years ago. However there was something to it that had caused Verialyn to keep it all the years.

It consisted of no more than a bikini top and a light skirt, with slits up to the hip on both sides. However both were made of the finest silks, in a deep purple red that contrasted beautifully with her pale skin and black hair, and with spare but tasteful golden embroidery accentuating the forms of the wearer. It had cost a small fortune when she had bought it, custom tailored for her by the best tailor of the city, and she had also invested in a small preservation and purification charm. Even after 120 years it still felt wonderful wearing it, the soft cloth caressing her skin.

With the dress in hand she walked over to the bathroom, where her two companions were already in the tubs. Without any shame she stripped out of her leathers, and then held the pieces of her dress in front of her, asking mockingly "Do you think this will be suitable for tonight?"

Phyliss wash plashing around in the water, dipping her snakes in and pulling them out. She looked onto that dress, as she had seen all kind of dresses in different countries and cities, in different times and on all kind of women, often imported ones. "It depends on what you are up to this evening. In some houses somebody might object, but I don't think anybody here will do. They will rather appreciate it, especially our patron."

Relic had used public bathing rooms before, sometimes it was unavoidable, and she often was seen swimming naked in springs or rivers. But she couldn't help but slide deeper into the tub when Phyliss arrived. For one it was a surprise, she expected that the gorgon would be in as fast as possible, but then again she did have her luggage to wait for.

As the water began to soak her, the water slowly got dirtier as she rubbed her feet and hands together. It was embarrassing to think of what she had looked like, but the most startling transformation was when she dunked herself under the water and ruffled her hair to get the sticks and leaves, mud and grime out of it.

Surfacing again the long locks of hair were now showing the purple hue through, with the strong silver streaks that were typical of drow. The purple was just an unusual bonus and many nights had been spent wondering it that was a family trait, and a reason for the purple necklace, and the purple shirts.

Trying not to look to much, Relic found herself curious as Phyliss undressed. Her skin was like some elegant china pottery. Smooth as silk, without any imperfections. Not even bruising from the ride. And yes, Relic had found herself watching the gorgan's ass to check for those bruises.

Before long they were joined and the bathing room was once again full. Verialyn undressed with no shame, and Relic found the outfit she chose to question them about rather different considering how she had assumed the warrior dressed. But it showed great tailoring.

"Family heirloom?" she questioned, picking up the hint of old style.

But there was no denying it would leave everyone wanting to see her walk around in it. "I think it should be okay, a little showy...but I'm sure the merchant will be pleased."

Verialyn had to chuckle at the remark of the family heirloom. Relic was not too far off.

She placed the pieces carefully on a stool far enough from the bathtubs, and then gracefully stepped into the remaining empty one. As she started to soak in the hot water, enjoyable and relaxing, she leant her head back and closed her eyes. "Ahhhh, that feels good, it has been too long since the last time. A pity Sven was too afraid to take me up on the offer."

But for now she would just rest and relax.

The gorgon enjoyed the bath and splashed around until the water was getting cold. Now she was clean and fresh, and she climbed out of the tub. She started to towel herself off. "Good I don't have to wait until my hair is dry." she said. She put on her bathrobe. "Now I will just put on some make-up and get dressed." she said.
"I will see you downstairs then."

Verialyn addressed Phyliss before she could leave: "While you are downstairs, could you please do me a favour?" she yawned visibly.

"It seems the day on horseback, as enjoyable as it was, was more draining than I thought. And the hot bath has put me over the edge. Please tell Master Fermintides that I would prefer to rest a little longer after the bath. I will join you as soon as I feel awake enough again. If he wishes he can send up one of the boys with some food. You two go ahead an enjoy the fun."

Another yawn accompanied the last sentence, and Verialyn really looked a little tired now.

Phyliss ovida

"Why, certainly. I will take care that he will send you up some food" she said, smiling. She walked over into her room and took the rob off, then she finished her make-up and put up on her most stimulating parfume. She took out her most precious dress - her evening dress made out of the best velvet in dark smaragd green. It was tight and very long, and it revealed her arms and shoulders, but not so much cleavage that it would be indecent. She had matching, long gloves of the same material she put on. To have a contrast, there was a long stripe of black, transparent net-lace that she fixed at each end with one of her wrists, the fabric falling down behind her back, hanging down about knee-length. Her shoes, rather sandals, where made of green glass. She always wore jewelery, even in wilderness, but this time she unpacked her outstanding necklace made out of black onyx. She did have matching earrings that she would were this evening. Well, this should do. Verialynn showed more skin then she did, but each to his own kind. She would reveal her skin in the right moment, not quite in the beginning. A llast check in the mirror, then she paced gracefully and slowly down the stairs, looking for somebody to lead her the way.

Relic had almost dozed off in the bath, sleep that wasn't just a meditative state rather rare but all the more enjoyable. It seemed more and more drow these days required to sleep soundly, because they couldn't find their peace to meditate easily. But for now Relic was just submerged enough that her nose was sticking out to breath. She blew little bubbles to entertain herself, frothing up the water a little.

When the time was brought to her attention she wondered if she should go with Phyliss or stay with Verialyn.

But with a begrudging groan she stood up. Her skin lighter now thanks to weeks of dirt getting scrubbed off. She ringed out her hair, before wrapping herself in one of the fine luxurious towels that were waiting for her. Rubbing her skin she watched Verialyn explain she would be joining them later, and couldn't help but make a random joke.

"I wonder if she has her eyes on that poor Sven boy...a different type of appetite."

Some might think that Relic was just a little dumb, but her comments really were not aimed at Verialyn's vampiric side. More at her sexual appetite.

Getting dressed she pulled the shirt on, and slipped into her undergarments. Her leather pants were form fitting, and she wrapped the belt around her waist a few times before fastening it. Compared to Phyliss, Relic looked more fitting to stand as a waiter over the table. But she would attempt to blend in.

She wrapped the new cloak around her shoulders, sliding her blades into them like it was second nature, and they were just an extension of her body.

"I hope you enjoy your rest." She whispered before leaving the room and joining Phyliss on the stairs. Not even drying her hair as it would take far to long. But it looked rather well kept, and naturally healthy.

Verialyn wondered about Relic's last remark. What was the drow girl hinting at? Had she become suspicious, was she already suspecting about her vampiric nature? Hopefully Verialyn would find out before it was too late.

After a few more minutes Verialyn also got out of the tub. She dried herself with one of the fine towels, then wrapped it around her. She would dress after her rest. Once she finished drying her hair she grabbed her belongings and quickly crossed the hallway to her room. Once there, she unwrapped the towel and dropped on the bed naked. It felt heavenly to lie on the fine silk and the soft cushions, the light of the setting sun streaming in through the windows caressing her skin. A rest might not be such a bad idea after all, to gather strength for the things to come. Verialyn smiled at the thought as she started to relax. She guessed the dinner would be over in about an hour and a half, so she had time.

---

Down the stairs Phyliss and Relic were greeted by one of the servants. "Mrs Diaron will join us shortly?" he asked as he led them into the dining hall. Marcus Fermintides and Aaron Gerling were already sitting at their places, with the chairs between them and next to them conveniently left empty. Two more men were sitting at the table, and the room was already bustling with activity from the servants.

"Diaron, i have to renember that." thought Phyliss who had completely forgotten Verialynns fake name in all this excitement.
"She will join us later; she still has to recover from the long journey and won't come to dinner. But maybe you would be so kind to send up a servant to get her some food. I am sure she will delight us with her presence after that."

The Narrator

Haerdon slowed down. He could see a coach from the far, and several riders. It was much to far away to make out any details, but he prefered to remain unseen until he knew who it was. He was strong and capable, but he couldn't take on with at least 6 men, maybe armed with magic or crossbows as well.
"Say, do you know who this might be?"

"Not really," Canut responded, taking in the full design. "Although, concidering the woodwork involved at what clearly is a few gems, I'm going to assume whoever owns this thing as alot of cash."

Relic wandered over to the table and bowed as she usually did when a man stood and pulled the chair out for her. Uncomfortably she slipped into it and jumped a little to allow him to push it in. Her hands remained in her lap, not sure if she was meant to put them on the table or wait for some sort of cloth to wipe them on.

She had heard some tales of noble houses having specific eating customs, so she decided to sit and listen to the conversations until either she could copy how they ate, or someone addressed her.

There wasn't much interesting about the conversation, however she could feel her interest peak when someone mentioned an expensive business venture or some valuable item they wanted to sell. It made her feel a little fuzzy inside.

Danger had that effect, and she eyed off the silverware. It would sell for a pretty price a few towns over is she could manage to take a few pieces. This man could afford to replace them.

As Phyliss entered the dining hall, Aaron Gelding immediately got up from his chair and approached her, with open arms and a happy smile on his face. "Ah, the lovely Mrs Ovida. Would you do me the honor and sit at my side?

Phyliss Ovida

"Yes, I sure do." she smiled at him, trying not to look to aroused already, as she sat down as he pulled her chair back.

The Narrator
Haerdon waited until the coach and the riders dissapeared behind the iron gate of the estate. The merchant knew that his wealth was very attractive to all kind of burglars and robbers, and he hosted probably a whole army of guards. If those two were really inside, the kobald would only be a danger for him. He looked at him. One blow with the axe. He could probably take out the kobald and his familiar with one strike, cutting through the little lizardman, hitting the girl behind him. He wouldn't even feel bad about that, for this was a perverse little devil, helping the enemy.
"So, what do you suggest?" he asked canting.

Marcus Fermintides could see that the guests were arriving, so he waved a hand for the associated to cease talking about business. Although to be truthful at least some of the conversation whilst the ladies bathed had been about them, and certainly some were of a sexual note. But like true money orientated men a lot of talk had dwelled over the days profits in town. Relic moved into the room and for a moment nobody noticed, but as she became obvious one of the other men stood to offer her a seat.

She was rather, lacking in appropriate clothing and wore a simple shirt and leather pants. Of course they couldn't help noticing the brilliance of purple hue that was now easily illuminated.

Running a hand through his hair, Marcus noticed a few of his own glances but nobody was so rude as to point out her lack of womanly attire.

But the room went deadly silent when Phyliss entered, her dress made her sparkle in the light, her skin clean and fresh. Her make up seemed to make her eyes bright and even though to many her locks of snakes would be intimidating the rest of her more than made up for it.

Aaron was gentlemanly and helped her to a seat and that left Marcus with a spare chair beside him. He glanced up at the door, before a servant leaned down and told him that Verialyn was not to join them due to her tired condition. He frowned inwardly, disappointed that the beautiful woman was not to join them. But he knew the day, and night was young.

"Please take her some food and wine, and that I would like to request her company once she has rested."

The servant bowed and moved away, and Marcus let out a jolly laugh making his stomach wobble a little. With a wave of his arm some music began to play in the background, a harp. He called forth the wine bearers who filled the women's glasses, and then he instructed for food to be served.

Turning to Phyliss, he smiled. Admiring her youthful beauty. But deep down his minds eye continued to think about the human woman. One of his own kind. A woman suitable of build for child bearing. Not that he planned to give her his seed for that reason. But at some point he hoped she would accept him, otherwise he might be less than welcoming.

The gorgon enjoyed this scene. She didn't even feel bothered by the presence of the drow. She took the glass of wine offered to her. This time she would not get so drunk as last time, but she knew just to well the quantities that were consumed on occasions like this. She took one of the purple carrots that were offered to her, a rare and exotic dish with a very unusual taste. She nibbled gently on it, while she threw a melting gaze at Aaron.

The Narrator

"Ludul Olfstaff, at your service." the man that offered Relic a seat was maybe in his early thirties or early forties, which was hard to tell. He was a bit stout, but not fat at all, more muscular. He did have a full face, with a black van-dyke-beard, and wavy long hair on his sides, while his forehead was nearly bald. He covered it with a headband made of leather and garnment stones, which looked as splendid as the rest of his clothes. He wore a dark red jerkin, a mighty black belt, and pants made from black velvet, combined with heavy boots made from brown leather. He had an expensive looking sword on his side, similar to a scimitar in shape, and an either expensive looking dagger at the other side and a smaller one on his boot. There was an outstanding large ring on his thick fingers. His skin was very tanned and he had extensive bodyhear, but he looked clean. He laughed and raised his glass to her.

Aaron was delighted as the beautiful gorgon sat down next to him, he barely could hide his excitement. After he had helped Phyliss to her seat, he took a few seconds to admire her. She looked gorgeous.

Then he raised his wine glass to offer her a toast. "On the beautiful women that make this world a bearable place"

Phyliss Ovida

The gorgon put the purple carrot down and raised her glass again, nearling melting away. "And to the handsome men that give women a reason to be beautiful." She didn't really notice or care that she had startet to consume the wine to fast again. What did it matter?

The Narrator

As dinner progressed, Aaron continued to try his best at making witty and charmful conversation with Phyliss. He also noticed that the gorgon consumed considerable amounts of wine. Not that he cared, it might make the main endeavour of the night easier. So he made sure her goblet was always filled.

After about an hour the feasting seemed to end. After everyone had put down knife and fork, Marcus Farmintides ordered the plates to be brought away. "Now let the dancing begin".

The gorgon was getting merrier during the dinner. The food was fine, and the wine excellent and always present. She leant forward, joking and laughing with the others, like in the good old days. It was not as kinky and steamy as in other houses that she has been before, but very enjoyable. Her snakes touched Aaron several times when she bent forward, as if in accident. Things were still handled to be decent here, Marcus wasn't such a libertine as some host she had before. There would already be a dancing gorgon on the table, and some weird games going on. But she didn't need that excess to be happy.

The Narrator

"This is not your scene, err?" said Ludul grinning, while he helped himself on the roasted wild boar on the table.
