I tried to publish a story with pics I created. Unfortunately, it turns out I'm too explicit for Literotica. Words are ok, but pictures are way too naughty. So I don't think I'll ever show the whole story as it was meant to be. I've even tried here, and the picture of Deb, which is where the story's basis comes from, is too big. It was worth a go

There was a little debate a recently if it would be allowed to make a forum post, link to your pictures in the forum post, write your story and link your story to the forum post. I can't remember what the conclusion was, but personally I wouldn't bother.

Otherwise you can post your story on a site which allows NSFW art.

Did not know that, thanks for the info. Sucks that they block the images in the stories and in the forums. Odd they allow the links in forums but not the stories.

The question really is.... is my writing not as graphic as a picture making you imagine whats going on. The picture is only there as an instant so you know where to start imagining from

I wrote on a different site before this one and I used alot of photos in my stories. When I got here I couldn't anymore, so I ran into a similar issue. I had to go back and try to add more details and stuff. I kind of regret it and wished I started fresh, but I really miss having pics with the story.

Bdsmlr was the site but its gone now thus how I ended up here. It was kind of like Tumblr and id write story ideas for fans. It was great till it just stopped working.

Hi, I'm only just coming to this thread now, but it feeds into an idea for a story thread that I've had for a while, one where I was posting a story in installments, (in a forum thread, not the story section) a few chapters at a time, with an accompanying pic for each post.

That's a breach of the site's content vetting rules. The site allows three paragraphs of a story in the forums for critique, but whole stories will get removed.

I've seen some writers' paragraphs run to five times the length (and more) of those of other authors. The simple fact is that there is no such thing as a "standard paragraph", word count-wise. Some writers could squeeze "a whole story" into three of their paragraphs without remotely raising a sweat.

Define 'long'.

I think that is the issue being highlighted, and justly so.

When it comes down to it on this site on any particular day, it all depends on the state of mind of some benighted mod who may or may not have got out of bed on the wrong side. Which is no way to run a site.

If you have strict rules, they should be easily understood by all those they are supposed to apply to.

So yes, until the site comes eventually to the blindingly obvious solution of setting a word count limit, the vast majority of us will indeed continue to 'think what we like'...

Sure, enforcement comes down to individual mods' tastes, but one rule of thumb seems simple enough: actual stories have a minimum length of 750 words, so I'd treat that as the maximum length for story-like content in posts on the forums.

You can write longer comments here, and that may make sense if you want to write some exhaustive treatise on a certain category or something. And if someone wants to write a longish treatise and also include in it a longish bit of story-like content, then maybe a mod will be fine with it. But then again, maybe not. If someone plays around with gray areas too much like that, maybe they'll get away with it indefinitely, maybe the rule will be changed, maybe they'll be individually punished. I don't care, in general.
