Qui-Gon looked over at Rose and smiled at her once more.
He wondered, again, just what Senator Palpatine wanted of the two of them. Qui-Gon and Rose had moved back to Coruscant less than a month previous, with the help of Count Dooku, and resumed their work and training there. Dooku thought it amusing that a former Jedi should return to Coruscant and help Dooku run some of his business interests that were based upon the Republic capital.
Rose had progressed quite far and fast in her lessons, her Form III style was solid, and each sparring match made Qui-Gon more and more proud of her.
Her love for her had increased with each day, and their master-padawan bond had deepened to an unprecidented degree, enabling them to fight in tandem even beyond what he had been able to achieve with his old Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Count Dooku had volunteered on three occasions to spar against the two of them, and each time they fought him to a stand-still, a better record than many padawan-master teams had achieved while Dooku had been at the Temple...

"Actually, I hate to dissapoint you, but it is a rather mundane mission. I called you two in because it was recommended to me and you work very well together."
He sat down at his desk, beginning to open his mail. Files for the day that needed his signature, rebellions which needed to be dealt with. Wars that were about to be waged.
"I need you to deliver a personal message to the head of a major corporation on the other side of the galaxy," He handed them a star map, detailing their contact, location, as well as the personal message.
"This is very important to the Empire. That is why Halcyon will accompany you. He is well versed in how to deal with political situations such as these."

Qui-Gon to Rose / Palpatine / Halcyon
Qui-Gon could not suppress a smile of amusement at Jedi Halcyon's surprise and perhaps pride at being asked to assist with an important mission for the Senator.
Qui-Gon glanced at the datapad for a moment before passing it to Rose.
"Is there anything of interest we should know about where we are going?" he inquired. "Violent phobias against Force-users, or representatives of your office?" he asked with a slight grin.
Many of the beings in the Senate had what could almost be an anti-fan club which eagerly hoped, prayed, and planned for their demise. Some even went so far as to engage in criminal activity to make it all happen. They were becoming a significant threat to many of the Senators.
On a side note, Qui-Gon realized that any enjoyable physical encounters he had with Rose would have to take into account for the Jedi's possible squeamishness. Or perhaps he was one of the rare Jedi who did not mind. I hope he is a heavy sleeper, Qui-Gon thought to Rose via their bond, passing along an image of he and Rose together in physical union and orgasmic bliss. I would not want our young Jedi friend to suffer because of our love...

The three of them took their leave and Qui-Gon looked over at the young Knight as the they left the Senator's offices and began walking down the halls that adjoined the offices of many Senators of the Empire.
"You have come far, Knight Halcyon," Qui-Gon said. "An aide to one of the most influential Senators in the Empire? You have done well for yourself."
