Death Star

She nodded "Good then you can gloat about me being wrong" She laughed and walked beside him she closed her eyes as she walked, seeing signs of who this strange person was, she opened up her eyes and grew faster in step, searching.

(OOC: Yes sorry I will give you information on the other 3 movies, now that I'm not busy I will do so now)

"I do not gloat, at least not usually," the bearded Jedi Master said with a small grin as he matched step with her. His lightsaber was a reassuring weight upon his belt, but surely he would not have need of his weapon in the Temple, at least against an intruder, would he?

He could feel the presence her in this very temple. The old master Qui-Gon Jinn. Being this close to him sent ripples through the Force that Zeram couldn't ignore. Pausing for a moment on the landing pad, he turned back around to face the pathway that lead to the Temple.

His orders were to merely steal the files and return them to the Master. But an opportunity like this was simply something the young Sith Lord couldn't ignore. After all, the Force offered such choices very rarely.

Keeping his hood tucked over his eyes, Zeram lowered his guard once more, but this time he made of point of keeping it open. He allowed some of the darkness that surrounded him to flow outward. His emotions, like a furnace of raw power, remained in check, with only a few tendrils of the Force radiating from him. He wanted the Jedi to know that there was a Sith among them. He wanted their fear.

His Master had taught him long ago that fear was the greatest weakness of a Jedi. Most were to terrified of the Dark Side that they held back their power, and closed their minds to the true nature of the Force. Fear made them doubt, and doubt made them falter. A Jedi that was afraid, was the easiest prey of all. Yes, fear was his ally.

Like a shadow standing on its own, he waited before his shuttle. He wanted to see Qui-Gon before he departed. Yes, he wanted that fear.

Qui-Gon reply to Zeram.

Qui-Gon's eyes widened perceptibly.

That he sensed.

He had not sensed such tightly controlled rage since his encounter with Darth Maul. Given that his last encounter with a Sith Lord had not gone over quite so well, and unwilling to risk Rose in such an instance, he thought it wise to open a comm. channel to Master Yoda even as he and Rose both headed for the source of the pitiless darkness.

Surely the wrinkled green troll has felt this, he thought to himself as he alerted Master Yoda via his communicator.

Tag, Rose, Yoda and/or Zeram.

She could feel more power and knew he could too, she looked at him "Master Quinn, you feel it now don't you" She said softly, she closed her eyes unsure of what was going to happen. She had no idea what was going to happen she sighed a bit.

"Do not tell me," Qui-Gon said as he closed the channel with Master Yoda and kept pace with Rose. "You have no idea what is about to happen."

Precognition is indeed a marvelous gift of the Force. It is most unfortunate that it is so often subject to blindness and of course misinterpretation, he thought to himself with some sardonic humor.

OOC - I am hoping that there are some Star Wars fans who are finding a little of this amusing.

Zeram weighed his lightsaber in his hand as he stood in front of the transport ship that waited to take him off planet. He waited in a private hanger, arranged by his Master. He had however left the door unlocked so that the Jedi would have an easy time entering. The stolen plans had been transfered to the astromech droid on board and they would be quite safe even if discovered. The Sith Apprentice wanted to see the face of the Jedi before he departed, and meant to be ready.

Many in the Sith prefered a more aggressive weapon then a simple single saber. Even his predecessor Darth Maul had utilized a double-bladed saber. But Zeram felt that was foolish. It made the warrior depend too much on the blade and not enough on its use. The single sword was more then enough. It was simple, elegant, and efficent.

Pulling the hood from his head, Darth Zeram's red and yellow burning eyes watched the entrence to the hanger as he waited for his prey.

She was with Master Jinn and saw the sith, she growled some "Master Jinn" She pointed, and felt something was wrong, she saw a light coming at them, she stood in front of Master Jinn and put her hands out using the force to protect them, and it hit the shield, protecting them.

OOC - Uhhh, stupid question time, but did Rose just deflect Force Lightning or blaster bolts or a flash light with her hands? Was Darth Zeram supposed to be the source of said attack?

OOC: Its ok, the attack came from Darth Zeram unless Zeram doesnt want it then i can make another reason since I have two ways)

Qui-Gon.

OOC - With Mayu's permission, here is Qui-Gon's post.

Qui-Gon knew not precisely what happened with Rose, but the source of the darkness was directly ahead of him.

A Sith. Not quite like the one that had given him so much trouble on Naboo, but a Sith nonetheless (Qui-Gon could feel the subtle differences between the two - he could not quantify the differences but they were there).

He took his lightsaber in hand and advanced, disgarding the heavy outer brown robe. Like any good Jedi he would not fail in his duty...

Tag - Rose and/or Zeram

OOC - Thats Fine

Rose watched this "Master Jinn becareful" She said softly as she saw the figure in front and had a very bad feeling that this wasn't going to end well, she just hoped Master Jinn wouldn't fail, but he was one of the best Jedi Masters so she had faith in him.

The Senator felt the small whoosh of the door opening, as he walked into the room. His robes, although a little less humble than robes when he had to speak in front of the councail, still held his own regalness and charm.

He saw Anakin immediately, smiling down at the young boy.

"I heard you did good today," He spoke as he entered the room. He took these small deliberate steps, slowly circling the young boy.

"I hope you don't mind that I have been watching you. I always thought you... Anakin showed the most promise as a jedi training here. It is something I've always admired."

He was about to say more, but there were sounds coming from down the hallway. Gunfire? Fighting? Something was happening.

"Inside the temple? There isn't supposed to be training, is there? What is going on?"

He looked confused, his eyes wide and fearful.

Zeram took a few steps foreword, pulling the dark hood off his head to reveal his face to Qui-Gon. He wanted the Jedi Master to know exactly who he was dealing with. He wanted him to see the face of Darth Zeram.

"Qui-Gon Jinn. It has been a long time" He spoke quietly, his voice calm and controlled. His eyes regarded the elder Jedi as one would an old friend that had just returned from a long trip.

"Perhaps you don't remember me. I was merely a Padawan." He added as he ignited his lightsaber with an angry snap-hiss. The searing crimson blade hummed like a swarm of wasps, casting a deep red glow on the Sith's black robes.

Qui-Gon speaks to Zeram.

Qui-Gon's emerald blade snapped to life with a hum.

He cocked his head to one side and studied the figure before him. He did not ready his weapon in any sort of guard position, instead he stared at him.

"I have met many padawans, some perished, some failed their trials, others went on to become honored Knights and Masters," Master Jinn said. "Perhaps you could refresh my memory with a name? The name you once were known by, not the pseudonym that your darkness has given you."

He hoped Rose was far enough away to be safe if he failed...

Sitting around in the chamber that was given to me, I looked around, only four days had passed since my master died. I still had not gotten over it, and I still didn't know what the council had in store for me, being a padawan learner without a master, I had contemplated going back to Corellia and seeing my siblings, but I didn't think the council would be happy with that. Suddenly I felt an influx of anger and rage, at first I had thought the anger and rage had come from myself. It did not feel very different from the anger that I had felt when my master died or the influx of emotions my master told me that was needed to become a master of form VII. It took me a few moments to realize this rage had come from outside of me. I picked up my lightsaber and gathered my clothes about me, steeling myself I walked outside of my room and mindlessly headed towards the disturbance, drawn to it like a piece of iron, drawn to a magnet.

Finally outside, I noticed something going on, there was Master Qui'gon with a young lady not far. Master Qui'gon was talking to a young man in dark clothing, a crimson blade ignited. That's odd, I thought, a red blade? what are they doing over there? Looking at the man in dark clothes, I realized he was the source of the rage, I called to Master Qui'gon "Master Qui'gon is something the matter?"

Zeram cocked his head. His saber was kept in a relaxed but ready position, the blade humming with a quiet savagry as a 2nd Jedi joined Qui-Gon. Zeram kept his emotions tightly bound, contained and kept in check until he needed them. Unlike the Jedi, the young Sith Lord was not afraid to channel the true power inside him. The Jedi believed in restraint and denial, the Sith taught that only through accepting all sides, light and dark, could one truely be powerful.

Taking a step foreword, Zeram brought the blade up and back, dropping in to the ready stance of the Juyo form. His words were calm, but frigid like ice. It was as if the words themselves were a part of the Dark Side.

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me."

With each line of the code of the ancient Sith, Zeram took another step foreword, the saber held relaxed in one hand.

"Your Order is finished Master Jinn. I revealed myself to you so that you could know that. I will take my leave now. Attempt to stop me and I will kill you"

Qui-Gon to Zeram.

Qui-Gon did not know the identity of the Jedi who called to him, but he hoped that the young man would be wise enough to know that anyone with an emerald blade and absolutely dripping with the Dark Side was a grave threat to everyone in the galaxy, much less the room. He decided to forego a verbal reply to the young man and instead faced the darkness before him.

"You speak of the ancient Sith Code - how quaint that the Sith have not abandoned all their cherished traditions," Master Jinn said, remembering what he had read about the Sith since their return. There was much that the Jedi Masters had locked away in the Jedi Archives that even he could not access, but there was still a great deal of information available. "Tell me, do the Masters hope and pray that their students will murder them in their sleep? Do you still eat your young?"

He assumed a ready stance for Ataru, he had sufficient room to move in the hangar, he would not be caught unprepared as he had been against the tattooed Zabrak on Naboo. And even if the battle were moved to a more confined space, he had other resources available to him.

"I am afraid I am enjoying this conversation far too much for to allow you leave, at least not without your name," Qui-Gon said, utterly at peace - a marked contrast to the controlled rage and hate and fear in front of him.

Tag - any but especially Zeram

"I am afraid I am enjoying this conversation far too much for to allow you leave, at least not without your name"

Zeram brought his saber in front of his face, point aimed towards Qui-Gon's determined gaze. Holding the blade comfortably in one hand, he took the final step towards the Jedi to finish the distance. He and Qui-Gpn now stood in the classic fencing distance.

The Jedi was a known master of Ataru, but Zeram wasn't worried. Juyo was one of the most complete and versitile forms of lightsaber combat and combined with the precise movements of Makashi, Zeram was a masterful fencer. He was not worried.

Qui-Gon's words meant nothing to Zeram's ears. The Jedi did not understand that it was only though severing their bonds, with friends, family, even their own soul could one truely be free. Nothing came without sacrifice.

"I am Darth Zeram. Now kindly let me pass Master Jedi. I have no intrest in mindless slaughter, but I will kill you and your companions if I must."

Qui-Gon to Zeram.

"Darth Zeram, you say?" Qui-Gon repeated, as if tasting the name upon his tongue, but he did not move from the Sith's path. "Most curious. I do believe I asked you for the name you possessed before your descent into darkness. Or am I to believe that you are as Revan and Malak were so long ago? So potent and powerful that you needed not to abandon the name you were raised with? You were a padawan you said. Padawan to which Master?"

"This talk is meaningless. Either act or let me pass Jedi" Zeram's octave dropped a tone. The Jedi was goading him, trying to buy time. In the end that was the whole problem with the Order. They just talked too much.

Zeram lowered his lightsaber. He hadn't come to fight but he was a Sith. He would do what was needed.

Qui-Gon bowed his head ever so slightly but did not move from his position.

Shook his head, drawing upon the Force, readying himself for the inevitable attack. "I shall move only if compelled Zeram. Do as you must."

Bringing his super up in front of his face in the salute of the Makashi style, spoke coldly, "As you wish"

Drawing his hand back, Zeram thrust his palm towards Qui-Gon, the Force pushing against the Jedi and shoving him backwards. Darting foreword, Zeram spun on his heel and brought his saber down towards the Jedi.

Qui-Gon vs Zeram.

Qui-Gon's tumble backwards turned into a flip which landed him perfectly in a stance to block Zeram's first attack, and second, third, and fourth- His green saber a blur to Zeram's red, matching him stroke for stroke, and Qui-Gon had to wonder just what in the world the other Jedi was doing- Perhaps taking notes?

He did not need the nameless knight.

He would prevail against the Sith, wouldn't he?

With a grunt Qui-Gon whirled and spun, striking again and again and again with a ferocity that he had lacked with his earlier confrontation with Darth Maul, but was now present against Zeram...

I was fully surprised by how the man moved, the first few movements suggested Juyo . . . then he started to move with a style that my teacher had taught me well, Makashi. I knew then, that he was a sith, only the sith preferred the close combat style of Makashi and the unpredictability of Juyo . . . well other than Master Windu. I ignited my silver white blade, the durindfire gem. Looking at the blade in my right hand wistfully for a moment the durindfire gem and my inability to "fly" had always made me stand out I thought. I let out a breath and cloesd my eyes calming myself for a moment I tossed my cloak aside revealing my status as a padawan learner, and opened my eyes again. I flipped my blade to a backhand grip, and pulled out my second blade, an emerald green color, igniting it I walked forward, standing aside from Master Qui'gon so as not to be an obstacle "Sith, you must not forget about me, I will protect this temple just as my grandfather protected Corellia." I stood there, holding my green blade in a horizontal position in my left hand while the silver blade hung down and pointed back and to the side; my feet shoulder width apart, ready to hold against a charge. I focused on the force, and the impressions I was getting from the sith. I opened myself to the force, as my master had taught me to, to listen to the force and let it guide my hands in battle.

OOC: I cleared this with Donsehan earlier. The best part of being the bad guy is I get to overpower a bit so it stays intresting. ;P

Zeram's blade moved in slow, elegant patterns, utilzing the minimum amount of effort to both defend and press the attack on Qui-Gon. The Jedi was pushing the advantage, his movements an erratic series of wide leaps, acrobatic flips and suprise strikes. It was clear that Zeram was dueling a master, and it was only through the Sith's extensive saber training that he was able to match the old Jedi.

Sidestepping a jumping attack, Zeram pivoted his wrist to push Qui-Gon's blade to the side before spinning on his heel and snapping a kick from his knee Sweeping, Qui-Gon's foot from underneath him and brining the Jedi tumbling down, Zeram speared his blade downward to impale his foe.

Qui-Gon reacted quickly, defending and posturing up to deliver a series of lightning fast cuts and jabs. Falling back for a moment, Zeram switched his tactics.

He realized the longer he fought, the harder it would be to escape with the plans. There would be a time to finish this duel, but for now, it was better to run.

Falling back to create distance, Zeram spun on his heel and locked his gaze on the Padawan that stood at the far end of the hanger. Holding one hand up, palm outstretched, Zeram opened his mind to the Dark Side. His emotions came flooding through his arm, his hate and anger like a focusing crystal as arcs of searing blue-white lightning leapt from his hands, encircling the Padawan in an embrace of pain.

Sparks and bolts, crackled all around the young Jedi, lifting his body up several feet off the ground before Force pushing him into the far wall. Turning his head back to Qui-Gon, Zeram bowed his head briefly before turning to board his ship.

Calling out behind his back as his saber deactivated, "We will settle matters Master Jedi. Until then, the Padawan is in need of your attention"
