is on TLC....Friday (tonight).....9:00 pm cst......i'm so excited!

it's about funeral homes, hearses.....<lil fun shudder>....all that cool stuff....the ritual surrounding death....TLC has a really cool lil spot airing this week promoting it....(anyone that watches Trading Spaces has probably seen it)

i've always been really interested in funeral homes.....every thing about them....the embalming....the casket rooms....cemeteries....the people that deal with death as a living.....

tortoise and i are both getting ready to buy the Six Feet Under DVD set......'cause i've really been anxious to see it.....i found it for $61.50 at a place with free shipping...yay!

anyone else a wee bit obsessed with the goings on in funeral homes?....if so.....don't miss Dearly Departed tonight on TLC!

don't even get me talking about my cemetery visits.....my family thinks i should have been a mortician........

I had a cemetary near me when I was a young teen. My friends and I would go and hang out around the tombstones.

Some might think it was disrespectful but really I think we had a great appreciation for the spirits that roamed there.

I used to smoke pot in a cemetary late at night, back when I was in high school. It was safe, and peaceful.

Oh and I've attended a couple of autopsy's Ginn if that does anything for you.

when i was a lil aardvark....and got to spend a week with my grandmother alone during the summer....one of my favorite things we'd do was go to the cemetery....she'd show me where each relative of ours was buried.....and tell me about them.....we'd walk and walk.....and sometimes we'd get to clean the tombstones.....the marble slabs and markers.....i really enjoyed that part.....

oh no....not me...Hamlet likes sex with dead folks...not me....oh no sireee......my funeral home obsession has nothing to do with sex.....oh......well....i'm not saying i wouldn't check out the weenies if i was a mortician and all....but....not like get turned or nuffin.....or do anything with them....like suck suck 'em and stuff....or get on top of a dead guy and rub my clit on his stiff thang....that's sick!....sick!....sick i tell you!.......

There's a cemetary in the backwoods of Mississippi with generation upon generation of my ancestors. I walk those rows every chance I get. It gives me the most amazing sense of "connection".

<nodding>.....i recently took a trip to my mother's family plot at the cemetery i used to wander with my grandmother.....the familiarity....the showing my child where everyone was buried.....telling her the stories.....the whole time feeling like they knew we were there....they were getting to see my baby.....it is pretty cool....the peacefulness....of a cemetery.....the respect.....history.....

We have a family home near the cemetary, 12 miles from town. My grandfather was born, and died in the same room, same bed 97 years later. The house is built around a log cabin that's older than dirt. One of my uncles lives there now, preserving it for future generations.

oh that is too cool.....the older cemeteries are really the most interesting.....checking the dates....the names.....

i was surfing through some home improvement sites a few weeks ago....and found this family that bought a really old home to renovate....along a river....probably 20 or so acres.....and on the land....was the cemetery.....for the family that built the home.....and the new owners had cleared the brush out....and cleaned the tombstones.....the before and after pics were really cool.....and it was neat....that this new family was going to be the caretakers of it.....
