Dear Litster,
Lit means different things to different people.
For some it’s a way to escape from the mundane aspects of their relationship and find some excitement or intimacy online.
For some it’s a means to connect purely sexually with others for a short period of time.
For some it’s the only place to come to strip away the masks of daily life…and be the someone they want to be, if only they had the confidence to do so in their “real life“.
… and for some, it’s where they come to put a mask on…to use devious and deceitful means for their own selfish aims…forgetting that behind the words, are real people who are emotionally and mentally invested in the interactions they’re involved with online.
Which group of people do you fall into?
One of the true luxuries that we all take for granted is everyone’s reluctance to be cruel or nasty usually softening their true opinions with a kind word, or simply ignoring a person completely… to avoid an unnecessary confrontation.
And often, we are spared the rather painful knowledge of someone’s honest opinion about us.
And it is usually, what is needed to keep the peace, when drama would only be unnecessary and pointless.
So while you enjoy the seemingly friendly façade with which some people use to relate with you, it would take someone truly ignorant of their behaviour, personality and general effect on people to assume that all of it is genuine… because you can only expect, at most, to receive what you give out… and you should never underestimate anyone’s ability to measure… true sincerity.
Litster,
You know the untruths you’ve told, and up until now, you’ve been spared the discord that could have been stirred up, because you were given the benefit of the doubt of your actions, being brushed aside as the antics of a frivolous pursuit.
Your constant presence has been tolerated by some…and caused more than the odd frustrated outburst in others, for you lack common sense and understanding of boundaries and etiquette of a public forum.
And slowly, the walls are now closing in on you…and you’re desperately grasping at petty little games to retain a “standing” that you would never have lost, if only you’d learned the lesson of restraint.
But true colours can never be hidden for long… even if they are dull and darkly sinister.
Loyalty to friendship has made me speak up.
Because this can no longer go on.
No one involved has any desire for anything as petty as revenge.
Only that the truth be told.
It is neither about personal vendetta nor silly rivalry… the result would’ve been the same were it any other person who has done the things you’ve done.
It is simply about respect…for everyone’s right to their own identity.
All attempts to keep the matter private were taken.
You took the step to make it public.
Just know.
You’ve been blessed so far to have done what you did to a person who couldn't care less about creating a scene.
Go quietly. Perhaps retain the dignity, you honestly don’t deserve.
