After Trump ordered the botched raid in Yemen which left his son dead, Bob Owens refused to meet with Trump at Dover Air Force Base when his son was brought home.
"I told them I didn't want to make a scene about it, but my conscience wouldn't let me talk to him," Owens told the Herald. "Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn't even barely a week into his administration? Why? For two years prior, there were no boots on the ground in Yemen — everything was missiles and drones — because there was not a target worth one American life. Now, all of a sudden we had to make this grand display?
Owens is also asking for an investigation into his son's death.
As usual, the con artist's administration defended the raid saying it helped save American lives without offering any proof of said claim.

For those unfamiliar with the story, on January 29th, without sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations, Trump ordered his first counterterrorism raid. From the beginning, everything went wrong.
Villagers were tipped off something was about to happen when drones were flying lower than normal. The SEAL team intercepted communications which told them their mission had been compromised. After a five mile hike from where they were dropped off, the team encountered heavily fortified and prepared positions, including a mine field. More defenders than planned were on hand, waiting for the SEALs, including women who took up arms and which multiplied the defending forces.
After using airstrikes to kill several of the defenders, an Osprey aircraft encountered a hard landing, injuring three people, and which at a cost of $75 million had to be destroyed because it couldn't fly out.
In addition to Owens being killed, civilians, completely unrelated to raid, were also killed, including children.
Because of this raid, and Trump's travel ban, the Yemeni government has prohibited the U.S. from using its territory to launch further raids.
