which are you?

"Cheer up, sleepy Jean
Oh, what can it mean
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen,"

(who does that song, anyway?)

Doesn't Anne Murray do that? And I'm the homecoming queen! Ahem...King, I said King. I DID!

Oh, God, this dates me: Davy Jones. The Monkees.

Daydream believer.

Daydream Believer.
And I knew it was the Monkies as well, does that date me?

Daydream Believer

i only heard Anne Murray sing it, but always liked it the same

'I once thought of you,
as a white knight on a steed.
Baby, see how happy we can be'

*grinz* definitely Daydream Believer

Monkees. Two e's and the question is moot because there is no or in the lyric. Sleepy Jean is both a daydream believer and a homecoming queen.

Two things in one, just like the Nevah: Young & Wise. :D

I use to love watching the Monkees on TV. Here are the lyrics.

Oh, I could hide 'neath the wings
Of the bluebird as she sings.
The six o'clock alarm would never ring.
But it rings and I rise,
Wipe the sleep out of my eyes.
My shavin' razor's cold and it stings.

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.
Oh, what can it mean.
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen.

You once thought of me
As a white knight on a steed.
Now you know how happy I can be.
Oh, and our good times start and end
Without dollar one to spend.
But how much, baby, do we really need.

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.
Oh, what can it mean.
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen.
Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.
Oh, what can it mean.
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen.

Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.
Oh, what can it mean.
To a daydream believer
And a homecoming queen.

I know it dates me. I watched the Monkees every Saturday morning without fail. I always thought it was weird to hear a woman sing "Daydream Believer", but then I don't like Anne Murray. I am definitely a daydream believer. Never had the urge to be homecoming queen, especially now that I've seen how the homecoming queen from my school has turned out. Meow, the claws slipped out-lol.

I always thought it meant that he was the daydream believer and she the homecoming queen...

I always thought that in hind sight Jimi Hendrix must have been real fucking disappointed that he got turned down for the Monkees.

I am sure he would have far rather been remembered running around on TV with those musical geniuses than for his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock.

Geeze NH. You are soooo young sweetie. At least you didn't ask who Hendrix was.

Ok Please tell me everyone knows who Hendrix is? Isnt it sacreligous to not know who Hendrix is?

DO you have a problem with my age Sweetie?

I feel so old today-lol. NH, the Monkees were a made for tv boy band. Kind of like InSync, Backstreet Boys, etc. They were a big deal for young girls in the 60's. They had a Saturday morning tv show that was really silly, but lots of fun. I absolutely loved them, still have their albums packed away somewhere. And if you ask what an album is, I will have to spank you-lol. Anne Murray is a Canadian singer, also a big star in the 60's & 70's.

Expertise, I always wondered about the Monkees & Hendrix. That would have been something to see. I thought they wanted him as the opening act when they did concert tours. I don't remember them wanting him for the tv show. That could have made for an interesting Saturday morning. My mom thought the Monkees were okay, but Hendrix scared the hell out of her.

Nope. Just gotta' remember what references to use with you, or to give you recognizable points of reference.

The Monkees were sort of a made for TV combination of The Backstreet Boys and Scooby Doo without the musical talent of either.

Anne Murray is a canadian songstress (We're both Alumni of the same University, she graduated a year ahead of my mum) who sings sort of folk/easy listening type stuff. She actually had a hit or two back in the 70's and 80's.

HEHE I love Scooby Doo I have Scooby sheets!! A Scooby Kangol, and Scooby gloves for winter!! Not to mention but i found a Scooby costume for snickerdoodle for halloween but i dont know if its worth 40 dollars!!

NH thats not a love thats an obsession.LOL

I limit my cartoon charachter merchandise to my Marvin the Martian coffee cup/pen and pencil holder.

Get it for the tyke.... its only money

Sweetie some of us arent Directors of Marketing or whatever the hell your title is. Im a lowly little blue collar type worker sniffle god i need to go back to school only I would get pregnant and drop out with a 4.0 while majoring in International Finance at Penn State!!

I know you're a single parent sweetie.

The rolleyes were meant to indicate my dismay at $40.00 US for a Halloween costume. Yikes.

Could you rent a costume? I got an amazing Captain Morgan costume from a rental place here a couple of years ago for only $25.00 canadian (like $15.00US).

I cant find a place to rent childrens costumes trust me i looked!! Maybe ill just run the Walmart and get a little pumpkin costume for the cutie!! Shell be half asleep the whole time anyway!! The best thing about having kids is all the candy mommy gets!!

Its for the kids...

I find the idea of you on a sugar rush mildly frightening. LOL

Me on a sugar rush is scarier than a drunk Naked Hunny!! Like the one night at work our machines are set to get out 23,500 pieces in 8 hrs well i got out 35,000 one night i blame it on 3 20 oz bottles of Mt. Dew, 2 bags of twizzlers, 3 Hersheys nuggets with almonds, oh and the soft pretzel! I still cant figure out how i sorted 35,000 pieces of mail without getting a headache!
