Wakes up outside under the stars with a mouthful of water.

"Hmph, it must have rained today."
* pokes him with the business end of my rifle, making sure he's awake*

You either need to stop drinking so much or we need to chain you to a wall in the bunker.

Roaming like this isn't safe for you.

Well, I couldn't find you. I get anxious when you're not around. If you're going to chain me to anything, chain me to you.

*walks up to the moat, pausing to let the cameras and any live guards see and identify me as human, wondering whom if anyone is still here after all these months. Still carrying the dual katana, and a few new weapons I picked up on my long walk, displaying an air of profound tiredness. My search was unsuccessful, I found the location I'd thought would contain the seed of hope for the future, but it was deserted. Anyone who'd been there, if ever they had, was now long gone. And so, after walking to Colorado, I turned back and walked to the bunker.

I came upon a few settlements; the human instinct to gather and build community is total. They were doing well enough, with varying levels of success and hope. None matched the spirit of the bunker, however, so I continued on at each stop.

I've lost count of the number of deadheads I've dispatched. I've also had to put down more than a few of the living - times of chaos always bring out the worst in some, and the raiders I happened upon are the lowest of the low.

But now I'm back, and standing outside. The place looks kept up, which gives me hope that I'll see some of the old "gang" if I'm let back in.

I wait.*

I decide that some additional strawberries are required for the evening dessert. I know there are still some ripe crops out in the closest garden, so I head to the main door. As I start the sequence to open the door, I glance up at the monitor to make sure it's clear.

My breath catches as I see movement. I can't see the shape all that clearly; but I can see that someone, seemingly human, is outside near the moat. As whoever it is turns, I see a bright reflection, like a glint of metal. As if the sun is hitting a sword or someth.....oh my, god. It's a katana. I KNOW that weapon.

I hastily complete the security sequence to open the door of the bunker. I hear the gears turning and clicking (why is this taking so long????) and I anxiously wait for the panel to slide open.

He's back. I knew he would come back. Praying that he is okay, I run out the (finally!) opened door and across the entrance, wondering what in what condition I will find him.

Hearing the doors begin to open, I walk over and wait, wondering who's going to come out. As it finally makes enough room to squeeze through, I see Ella come rushing out and find myself breaking into perhaps the first smile I've cracked in over a month.

"Well hello there. I can't tell you how glad I am to see you here, safe and healthy! Is the rest of the group still with us? I'd open my arms for a big hug, but I haven't showered in.....weeks. I'm surprised I didn't set off the smell sensors at a half mile!"

*Throwing my arms around you and almost knocking you over in the process*

I don't care how dirty or smelly or grimy you are! I'm so happy to see you...alive...sorta healthy...and here!!!

There are a couple of us who remained here, plus a few you haven't met yet. Just thrilled that you came back. You still have a room here waiting for you.

*laughing and hugging you back, shifting a bit to hide my reaction to you pressed against me, so clean and soft, after months of solitude.*

"That's fantastic. I can't wait to catch up, and meet the new folks, and I really appreciate the room being available. Before anything though, I really, REALLY need to clean up. Is the water still running and warm?"

"Yes, yes, of course!"

I let go of him, awkwardly stepping back and reflexively tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. I suddenly feel conscious of raw masculinity standing in front of me.

I take a deep breath, feeling the blush creeping up into my face. "Why don't you come inside and get cleaned up? I'll...I mean, um...we'll need to check you for bites, you know, the same old routine and all," I manage to stammer.

Blinks, having forgotten that requirement, then shrugs....after everything I've been through in life, a little semi-public nudity shouldn't be a big deal. Even in my semi-exhaustion I notice the stammer and the blush, and chuckle low in my throat a bit.

"Of course, I'd forgotten about that but it's very wise. Where are the......checks.....conducted again?"

Looking up in his face, so worn and tired and dirty, I bite my lip and smile.

"We can do that in the shower, if you want."

"We can do that in the shower, if you want."

"That sounds lovely. Two birds with one stone, as it were. Lead the way"

Bows and sweeps my arm ahead of me grandly, indicating she should take the lead to the shower room, chuckling again at the lip bite, feeling myself stir, hoping she isn't offended when my pants come off and the evidence of her effect becomes visible.

Leading him back into the bunker, I ensure that the entry way is completely cleared, do all the checks and close the door. I wait, listening to the locks slip into place. I am acutely aware of the man standing behind me. There is a thick tension in the air, and I notice that my breathing has become a bit shallow.

Turning to my long lost bunk mate, I make a "come here" motion with my index finger, and lead the way down the corrider to the co ed shower room. I toy with the idea of turning off the cameras in there for the sake of privacy, and then decide to stay on the safe side. Besides...a little exhibitionism might be interesting.

Follows her into the deeper bowels of the bunker toward the shower room, seeing her glance up at the cameras and hesitate, again chuckling low in my chest knowing what she just considered and discarded. Feeling myself stir again as she enters the shower room, sighing at the inevitability of her seeing my arousal. I can only hope she's not offended.

I lead him into the shower room, and then turn to look at him.

He is covered in grime. Dirt, head to toe. Every inch of his clothing, even his boots, are caked with...oh, god. There are pieces of the undead on his clothing. Even though I've been sheltered in here for so long, I still recognize the stench. I take a huge breath and say, "Get out of those clothes. I'm burning them, so empty anything valuable out of your pockets. And I won't try to take your katana, I promise."

I see the look of protest flash across his face, and I stare straight at him.
"Get undressed NOW."

A look crosses his face...amusement? I'm not sure. But he does as I ask, and piece by piece, his "wardrobe" falls to the floor. He turns away from me as he finishes undressing; I am busy gathering soap and sponges and shampoo, razors, shaving cream, towels, and everything else I think he might need. I turn to see how he's doing and OH. Oh, my god.

I'm not sure how much time clicks by before he coughs, bringing me back to my senses. I turn red from my toes to the part of my hair. How I didn't drop everything on the floor is a slight miracle. I can't seem to make my feet move, and he graciously reaches out his hand and grasps my wrist, pulling me into the shower.

No words are spoken between us. Moments of praying over his wounded body so many months ago flash through my head. And now, he's here, touching my arm and I am overwhelmed with desire for him. I need to keep my head, to get him cleaned up, to check him for bites. Focus, FOCUS.

*I wander in through a side door, make the turn for the motor pool, and whistle while walking down the hallway. Without a care in the world, I quietly search for Whip and listen for the sound of ratchets, air tools, or even the soft singing that she does when she is busily fixing something and has forgotten the time.

And speaking of the time, I think it's high time that a young lady stopped working on rusty old military vehicles, came inside, and let someone pamper her with a hot shower, fresh clothing, and a meal. Lots to talk about, methinks.

* smiles and kisses him on the cheek from behind*

There you are. I'm making Mimosas, would you like one?

* takes his hand and leads him to the bar*

I'd like anything you're willing to give me of your own free will.

Stirring from a very long and much-needed slumber, finally clean and a touch drained in a way I haven't experienced in quite awhile, I head to the kitchen seeking sustenance, and to see who else is around. There's plenty of catching up to do, one suspects....

Taking the last batch of chocolate chips cookies out of the oven, I see TheAnimal sort of staggering into the kitchen. I feel a blush creeping over me, and I give him a little smile.

"What can I get you to eat? You must be famished."

Well that rules out my kidneys and most other internal organs, with the possible exception of my appendix.

How about a beer instead?

I don't drink it, but I'd love to watch you drink one.

While you sit on my lap.

Naked.

I'll drink my beer anywhere I damn well please, Dave.

* cracks the cap odd a bottle and climbs into his lap, still fully dressed*

You're not gonna make me spill this by getting too excited. It's the zombie apocalypse, beer is a precious resource.

I wouldn't dream of spilling your beer, nor would I dream of asking you to get dressed to drink it. I can control myself. No worries.

* raises an eyebrow*

Darling, look down. I'm dressed.

* sneaks in a kiss when he lowers his head*

I know you're dressed. I don't like it one bit.

But please continue with the kissing. I really, really like that part.

Strange, I was thinking of deleting Skype from my phone because I don't talk to anyone with it.:(
