Why do people keep voting for politicians who lie to them? Because it is easier to live in a world made up of lies than to have to deal with the truth. Asking why politicians lie is just silly - they lie because that is what gets them into office.

My previous post may not apply well to your situation - but then I don't know what your situation is because you asked a general question and I gave a general answer.

I generally try not to lie. I am often too blunt. I often get told to shut up when I tell the truth - you just did. It is a real problem for me - because nobody likes to hear the truth.

After a while people like me learn to either shut up or to lie. I mostly learned to bite my tongue most of the time - other times, when it is a white lie, I may tell a lie - but if you really really really want to know the truth, then I will tell it as I see it.

Now sure, there are men who lie all the time - not little white lies either, or because they learned that is what people want - they lie because they don't care about other people or what happens when their lies are found out. They lie because they are insecure. They lie to get what they want.

But again, it comes down to the fact that people want to be lied to, again and again and again. They get told the same lies by the same people and despite being burned over and over again, they keep going for the same lies.

It is hard to find the truth - even harder to deal with when you find it. Really hard. People in general are lazy. It is a lot easier to live your life that way - believing in a lie.
