Then sometime in her sophomore year, she decides to start collecting data...then at some point she thinks it's a good idea to pass it around to a few of her close friends as a Power Point Presentation.

Probably. Oh and I am not putting her down for what she did as far as collecting data...just the emailing part, but it sure will make those who she had liaison with think about making their life's work one of public service, where scrutiny of their past will be detailed.

It's very readable.

It occurs to me that this might be the beginnings of a new reason for selectivity amongst the young men-- it used to be, of course, that girls had all the burden of saying no. Once they didn't, dudes started getting laid as fast as possible. Then girls tried to pretend it wasn't happening, tried to keep a semblance of respectability.

Now, it might be the guys who say no-- just in case she decides to write him up.

she wrote up [mock thesis style] and evaluated her dozen hookup partners, lots of them jocks, mostly on the lacrosse team. she included their names and pictures

the sexual details are not that different from those on weblogs and on facebook. some of the evaluations are full of praise for the prowess and 'equipment' of the partners. at least one partner asked (hopefully) "will i make to your fucklist?"

she gave copies to a couple friends.

so far there's nothing very different from what the lacrosse fellows do, i'm sure.

one of these friends leaked it to the 'net and it 'went viral'. initially with name and pictures unaltered. then the names were blotted out at most sites.

her involvement seems to be minimal for most encounters and usually she was drunk. there's a transient sense of deep connection with only one or two.

so her fucking is mindless, often joyless, for fucking's sake. clearly the same holds for these partners. if you can hookup, you do it, and it's done as casually as sharing a coke.

IF she's at all unusual among young women, the behavior is 'ho-hum' in the young men.

they're full of zest; they experiment like bunnies and lack a sense of the future. so what's new?

pure: i disagree. while it's occasionally fun to read--soon to be a book and movie, making her a million!-- there are almost no interesting and novel data there about her or others' mind or emotions, or about the sociology of the causual hookups; they happen with lots of booze. exceptions: her real appreciation of strong aggression (hence her choice of jocks?) and her comments on the fellow who wanted her to come first.
