Darmus By Night

Thorne:

Toying with her reins, Thorne waited for the party to begin moving, her mind whirling with thoughts and memories. She glanced up as she heard Valdimer approach and then looked away. She had never come that close to loosing it before. On the bridge, she heard Rocky talking, but didn't really process what he was saying.

Valdimer Elsoworth

Valdimer rode up to Thorne, and gently pulled on his riens, stopping his horse. "I understand how you can be shocked, or even more weary now than you were before. I can tell you this much though......I wont come after you...if that settles you any.." he said. Val looked at Thorne for a moment longer, than moved his attention to the road ahead, and waited.....

Thorne:

Speaking in barely a whisper, Thorne's voice shook slightly: "I'm not afraid of you, I understand of the need you have to feed. It is senseless killing that I can not take, to cause another pain for your pleasure." She looked at the road ahead, wishing she had not dared to dream, that she had just stayed in Browning.

Valdimer Elsworth

"Pain for one's pleasure? Thorne, Look around you. That happens on Darmus on a daily basis. Yes, I do feed because I have to, not because I want to. Though, there are times when I have killed for pleasure.......just to do it. Come now, we must be moving." he said, nudging his horse, and moving forward........

Thorne:

Letting Talesin fall in near Valdimer's horse, Thorne spoke once again. "Just because it happens often is it right? What of the victims of those deaths? How many of the men, do you think, had families, and children?"

Orion rose up from his shallow resting place, it had been a long time since he had walked this planet but he told his king he would complete his duty and retrieve the stone. He had to keep his promise, even in his current state. He heard of people coming riding on horses, "Must...Hide"

Valdimer Elsworth

" Oh, these men most likely had families, but I doubt they had any concern for them. And children?? We did them a favor it would seem. No, it doesn't make it right, by any means, but it unfortunaltly is a nessecity, one I have to do, and one Cervantes has no ill feelings about doing either." he said, giving a slight smirk at the end of his sentence. " I have a feeling there is still much you have yet to see......Exactly how long have you been doing this? Adventuring, I mean?" Val said, turning the subject to something a bit more pleasant.........

"Well, thank you ver much," he said, turning around.
What?
He had sworn he had just talked to someone. What in the world?
Rocky glanced at his squirrel friend.
"Squirrel, who had just talked?"
The squirrel whispered in his ear.
"On the horse?"
He glanced back at the horse, "Did you speak?"
The horse whispered to him. (horse whisperer, hee hee)
"On you?"
He looked back, there was no one on him.
"What are you talking about? The saddle?"
He wasn't sure, he had talked to animals, but never inanimate objects. He felt the saddle, up and down.
"Saddle, did you talk? Hello?"
He was thinking perhaps he had hit his head a little hard on that bridge. Was he hearing voices that just weren't there. Someone told him he could keep a squirrel, and Cervie. Something about Cervie.
"Do you know Cervie, saddle? Does he owe you money or something?"

Cervantes:

Cervantes stole ahead of the party for a reason. He sat in a small grove hidden in the forest, up on a tree stump and remembered the first time he'd been here.

~Cervie walked through a lush woods, he was bright eyed in his youth. Caring about nothing more than frollicking about, maybe coming upon a chance meeting with a bull-frog he could poke at and make jump about in muddy streams. You know, kid type things. Well, anyway, he came to this really neat spot in the woods, where the tree's were grown in a wide circle, and moss and little flowers grew all about the the trunks. But not too girly... Nope, it was a neat place, with a nice tree stump in the middle where he could go and sit and pretend to be a king or something and boss all the forest creatures to do stuff. Not that they listened, but you get the picture... Well, anyway, he met a weird girl there, she said she was a witch and he said she was a poo poo head and that she should get him some water. So she bonked him on the head and he started to cry, but then she told him to stop being such a baby... So he did... And then they talked about bull-frogs and crickets and all that neat stuff. But then he had to go home cause it was dark and his dad would hit him if it was too dark when he got home, so he ran off... That was the first time he was in Kiahra's woods, she said it was her woods and that the people in the town where he lived were moron's when they called it the kings woods...~

Being snapped out of his thoughts, Cervantes looked up to see the party finally ariving.

OOC: Lit is giving me some trouble, please forgive the unregistered

IC: Looking calmly at Valdimer, Thorne replyed "I've seen more than you would think, and I've been adventuring for a couple of years now. Been on about 7 quests, mainly long ones. I'm good at what you hired me for, but I do have my own opinions of how to deal with things, and they generally work. I don't like to take lives, even if neccissary. As for the rest, it's just something that comes from being who I am. That's all you really need to know or understand." She looked around, taking in the beautiful woods and enjoying the scenery to an extent, mainly, she was just trying to close the subject.

Kiahra:

"Rocky, shadup! I'm invisible already! Can't go spoiling the surprise for Cervie, now can we?" She said into the cabin boys mind again. She had him lead the horse right up to Cervantes... "Did you enjoy your hunt?" Kiahra said in Cervies head, magicking his hair to stand up on end, and poofed out. He looked quite silly that way and she started to giggle. A green puff of smoke appears up on the horses back, and when it clears, Kiahra is sitting there with a bemused look on her face, pointing at Cervies mussed up hair.

Orion had tailed the riders since he rose from the earth. He had just been content in watching them leave until he heard the name Cervantes. For the first time in hundreds of years his mind was fluttering with thoughts of betryal and agony. He swung onto a nother tree branch, "Excuse me travelers did you say Cervantes? If your an enemy of Cervantes I would like to aid you, I would come out and greet you but I think you would be afraid by my horrible appearance. May I ride with you?"

"Girl, I understand more than you know!" he said, his tone more agressive than he cared for it to be. "I've seen things, done things, and lived through things you only have nightmare's about!" he continued. He turned his gaze back to the trail for a moment, then back to Thorne. "I apologize. My tone was uncalled for." he said.

"If you are enemys of Cervantes, I would like to aid you." was all he heard from the newcomer. Valdimer pulled hard on his reins, and flew off his horse, his sword flying out of it's sheath. "My dear boy, you have stumbled onto the wrong people." he said, his grin wide enough for his fangs to show........

Cervantes:

"Kiahra..." Cervantes looked up at his poofed out hair and began to mat it back down in annoyance. "So nice of you to have joined us..." He grumbles. "Its been a long time... Maybe not long enough..." Even though he seemed annoyed, a smirk creeped across his lips.

Looking up toward the hiden one as he spoke from the darkness, Cervantes smiled wickedly. Then Val jumped off his horse, ready to fight. Cervantes lifted his hand. "No... Frances... No need to be so mean to the lad... He just wants to help us kill that Bastard, Cervantes... You know... The one who raped your sister right in front of you and made her like it..." Cervantes said, shooting Val a bemused glance.

Valdimer cocked his head slightly, listening to Cervantes words. "I'm sorry.......Willace, it's just when I hear that BASTARD Cervantes mentioned, I get real angry.....I just want to start tearing things apart! I suppose this....lad....can help us, though we still have rights to his carcus first." he said, shooting a quizzical look at Cervantes as he sheathed his sword............

Cervantes:

"I know, I know Frances... I would be angered by the bastard's name ever time I heard it if I'd had been forced to listen to my sisters wild moans of pleasure too..." Cervantes said, his tone sympathetic toward Valdimer. "Come out lad, if Frances and I can stand the sight of that beast, Cervantes, then surly we could look upon you..." Cervantes called out to the boy as he patted Valdimer's shoulder in a jesture of support.

Kiahra:

"Alright. ...Willace..." Kiahra said as she shook her head and rolled her eyes.

Thorne:

Shooting Valdimer a glance, Thorne nearly laughed, "You know nothing about me, and you know nothing of what makes me as I am."

She turned at the new voices, one female, the next coming from someone hidden. Hearing Cervantes' name mentioned, and in a bad way, she tensed, not ready to face another needless death. At Cervantes denile of who he was, she decided to shut her mouth until she could talk to one of the two men, and find out what exactly was going on here. She regretted ever coming on this quest.

Cervantes:

"So... Will you help us? We could use all the hands we can get to stop that fucker! None of us could POSSIBLY match his sheer skill... But perhaps as a team... We could bring him down..." Cervantes looked over toward Thorne, flashing her a toothy smile.

Thorne rolled her eyes and then shot Cervantes a look to warn him he was laying it on too thick. She wondered just what they were up to. Maybe she would get to use that truth spell she had memorized in the tavern after all. . .

Cervantes:

"Yes, you see... Cervantes raped Frances's sister, he stole from me, and... Well... Maybe Mitsy should tell you why SHE wants the rat bastards hide herself..." Cervantes said as he went over to Thorne's side and nudged her with his elbow.

Thorne:

Going into a coughing fit after she nearly swallowed her tounge at the name "Mitsy" Thorne tried to regain some composure. "I'm sorry, good sir, all of this Travel dust has gotten to me. Where were we? Ah yes, the bastard of a two timing lightskirt Cervantes. I aquired a sever dislike of him when he cheated me on a buisness deal, and then tried to get into my bedroom. The scum was just as revolting as they come." She then made to gather her reins, flashing a smirk at Cervantes, as if to say, "that was for Mitsy."

Kiahra:

Looking from Cerivie to the boy, She called out to him “Yes, I’ve heard of that Slime Ball.
What I wonder is what makes you think you can kill him??

Coming forward, Kiahra continued to speaking “These are my woods, and I only allow creatures of fundamentally good Nature in.” as she said this, She gave Thorne a warm smile.

So NO Fighting while you’re here, An only kill some thing you need to eat, okay?”
She set her rules forth looking at everyone of them inturn, making sure they all agreed to it.

I’m going back to my hut now, ‘Willace’ you know where it is…. “ If any of you want to come along your more than welcome to. Just remember my Rule.” Kiahra ended with a smile as she continue on, Deeper into the woods

Rockingham!

(Lit is being not nice to me)

Rocky glanced from one face to another. They all seemed to know what they were talking about. He was totally confused though. Why did they all want to kill Cervie?
Even Cervie wanted to kill himself.
What was going on? He looked at Cervie for help, he just seemed so happy about going off and killing himself?
Rocky didn't understand. It was ok though, he rarely understood what was going on. Things were just too complicated for him, so he resolved himself to simply getting on top of his donkey and taking out his squirrel.
"I'm sorry, it just seems that there's no one here that's dumb enough for me to talk to. They're all super smart, talking about things. You must want to talk about something, if they are going to have their own private conversation, then so are we."
The squirrel whispered to him.
"Oh yes? Where?"
The squirrel pointed behind him. He looked, very curiously. The tree was far off, but it looked rather big. The acorns on it seemed to glow with the morning sun.
"Wow, you are right. They do look delicious. How man can you eat in a day?"
The squirrel whispered in his ear.
"Oh yeah? I had that once. Cervie said I could eat all the pie I wanted, and I got two entire pies. Then, I ate them all, my stomach hurt so much, it made me go puke right on the lawn. Then, I laid there for an hour feeling so bad. Something in my stomach kept hitting me from the inside. I think I swallowed a little gremlin in one of those pies, and he was trying to get out."
The squirrel began laughing, Rocky looked at him oddly.
"Stan, did you think that was funny?"
The Donkey simply shrugged his shoulders, bending down to munch on some grass.
Rocky sighed.

Orion leaped down from the trees and into the light, revealing his scarred exterior to the party. He approached Cervantes, "Didn't think you'd be seeing my mug again, did ya?"
