Nolans Batman movies are great movies not just great comic book movies. Brilliant filmmaking.

Absolutely, when I saw Batman Begins I was stunned...I was expecting a paycheque movie, something he made to make capitol for other films,,, but it was absolutely brilliant

Superman was created by a Canadian, by your logic if you love Superman you hate America

The image of Superman was by a Canadian who lived in America. Saying he was created by a Canadian, while technically half correct is really stretching it.

-Canada and America unlike anyother two nations co-operate and share on an uminaginable level. Excluding a few tiny things we have much of the same goals and principles.

-In this tradition Superman was created from joint collaboration, of a American and a Canadian.

-I would also add a threat to Canada is a threat to the USA and vise versa.

Went to see The Dark Knight Rises.

Alfred: too many tears.

Anne Hathaway was great, and her character was reasonably well worked-out. Should have been a little more of her.

Bane was one-note, but fairly well-done one-note.

Talia al Ghul shouldn't have been in this. Her relationship with Batman in the Batman universe is complicated and very interesting; here, she felt tacked on. I can appreciate that Nolan didn't want to leave her out, but either you go with Talia and Bane, or Selina and Bane. Not all three.

Gordon-Levitt did just fine. Would've been more fun if they'd revealed his real name as Dick Grayson at the end, and not hit the audience across the brow with "Robin". I heard groans.

Still, it was good.

I assume you didn't get shot at then.

A friend cancelled because she was too scared to go. I did hear cops on bikes outside saying they were securing the back exits to all of the theaters.

While everyone was sitting before the movie, a couple of cinema workers got on the microphone and started trying to be cute ("Sorry, there'll be no Dark Knight tonight; we're showing Spider-Man instead"; "We can see you, but you can't see us, ooooo...") I yelled out, "These two are why Colorado happened", and the place erupted.

(No, I didn't. But it would've killed.)

I saw it Friday afternoon. I thought it was good. As it was said earlier Bane was one not, but a hell of a note. It fit in nicely with the other two Nolan Batman movies. I am a Batman fan and we watched Batman Begins and The Dark Night before seeing TDKR. It is hard for me to pick a favorite.

Today, we decided to watch the 90's Batman movies. Damn, I forgot how absolutely horrible Batman and Robin was. Batman, with Keaton and Nicholson, was easily the best of that bunch. It wasn't as good as any of the Nolan series, but still worth a watch.

I would have liked to see more Selina Kyle :)

Wow in poor taste much! I've only been here a little while now. But i'm starting to understand things you!

You gotta atleast double the amount of space if you are giving an honest spoiler, not that you really spoiled much, certainly nothing that I'm not willing to spoil. If you really care there is a white font for Lit so only someone who wants to know what this is will read it. you can always change the font color.

that said there were groans because were were all expecting his name to turn out to be Richard or Timothy. It was hard to keep from groaning until your brain kicked in and you realized there will never be a Robin in the Nolan Verse. Blake Robin will grow up to become Batman because Batman is a symbol. And anybody can be a symbol.

Just got back from seeing it this afternoon...great end to the series...I liked the Talia twist at the end personally... and my boyfriend nailed it about " Robin" near the begining of the film, I just thought he was too old for it

I seriously hope to god they don't trying continuing the story from this point with either Robin/Nightwing or him as the next Batman...because Nolan won't be on board and it would probbaly be a disaster

I'm thinking they may try to roll him over into the "Justice League" movie they are trying to get off the ground now, since Bale won't be in it . . .

agreed, there was a little too much alfred getting emotional.

disagree, selina kyle was in the film a LOT, we didn't more. anne hathaway did a good job, not a great job. she still looks too porcelain, too young & pretty to be a madam/cat burglar.

i thought bane was a good villain, he was interesting to watch. his voice was a little tough to make out, but that only added to his mystique.

the twist with talia was good at the end, didn't see it coming and the explanation provided seemed credible and not tacked on.

gordon-levitt is a great actor, and his character was likeable here. the very last scene was lame, though. more on that later.

overall, i liked the film. nolan makes very entertaining films, and he kept us interested and engaged for damn near 3 hours. that's excellent.

i DON'T like the hollywoodism they pasted onto the end, with the whole robin bullshit. why does every primary character need to be so completely wrapped up in a bow? it's a good narrative on its own, there doesn't need to be allusions to sequels.

the other criticism i have is about all 3 movies: why is all villians so utterly concerned with gotham?
in the first movie, ras al ghul seems all mystical and ninja-ey and whatnot, why would he give a rat's ass what gotham's up to? his philosphy doesn't make sense, he said it's basically a shithole that needs to be burned so it can be rebuilt. but, um, if it's so shitty then why bother with it?
and then, in 2, the joker is all obsessed with cutting off everyone from leaving, terrorizing the whole city, etc.
jump to movie 3, here we are again having some crazy fucker cutting off everyone from leaving, terrorizing the whole city, etc. what the fuck?

and the really big plot hole in this third movie is this: if the city were truly cut off for 5 months or so, why wouldn't the entire social structure break down? the city should've been lined with trash, all the work that people who live outside the city come into the city to do wouldn't be done so tons of social services would've broken down, etc. not to mention that the thousands of cops trapped underground would've starved to death.

30 seconds after she hit the screen for the first time, I mouthed out "That's Talia".

Personally, I thought the set-up was obvious - not to mention she looked just like her character does elsewhere.

Gatham has 12- million citizens - the us government abadons it. Would the world not colapse without wallstreet. This is New york lets not kid ourselves. so th UN building is located in Gotham then. I thing peace keepers would be deplyed or something. It's just not realistic that the world abadoned 12 million rich mainly white people(not racist just being blunt, Rawana would have had a different response had it been european). If it was detriot or atalnta or something yeah i could understand!
