Yes Simply hon I have those days all the time, especially since I started working where I am now, but then I just look and think what else I would do and I can't see anything I would rather do than Nurse, just want it to be somewhere else.

I know. I feel the same way, and I love working Trauma..but I get so tired of the sadness sometimes.. We have someone in our Trauma Unit right now that we know personally, she now has 17 chest tubes, and she's not gonna make it. And I am so down about it.. And this morning the family cried all over me, and I got caught up in it and couldn't stop crying.. And driving home this morning, I felt so drained. It takes so much out of me. I honestly wanted to turn around and go back and hand them my badge, and say you can't have anymore of me.. that's it..

Sorry.. just needed to talk with another nurse..

I know how you feel Hon. When I first graduated and went to Pedi ICU, I just loved it, but when you get the kids in that you know aren't going to make it then it just drains you, and the we had kids that the parents just kept alive on machines that would never have any quality of life, it just killed me, that is when I moved to the adults. But because the hospital I went to didn't have a pedi ICU I looked after the kids that were to unstable to transfer out. I needed a break that is why I left and went to nursing home nursing, but now I am ready to go back to the fast track again.

And you know Hon anytime you need to talk I am here.
