Daily Mail story about incest porn

"Psychologists tell DailyMail.com that porn addiction is so rampant that people must watch increasingly taboo material to get the same excitement."

"Experts repeatedly say that many of the people watching these clips have no intention of carrying out incest in real life.

But studies suggest there is a frightening amount of incest in the US — with up to 15 percent of families having suffered from incestuous events.

Dr David Lawson, a therapist in Texas who works with sex abuse victims, told DailyMail.com the actual figure was 'likely higher'.

'They're probably conservative estimates,' he said, 'because these things are not things people tend to report'.

In a book on the subject, titled Healing the Incest Wound: Adult Survivors in Therapy, Dr Christine Courtois said prevalence among women put incest at as high as 20 percent of all American families — although this prediction is now 40 years old. "

Incest popularity is nothing new for us on Literotica, I guess. I quoted some parts of the article that I thought were most interesting. Nothing new there, except for the incidence of real-life incestuous occurrences. The numbers are unexpectedly high. 🫤

That might be true for a quick jerk porno, but I really think one of the biggest allures for the long form incest stories is for people who conflate sex with intimacy--they want to vicariously experience that love they missed out on.

The former's a quick taboo thrill that seems like people would get jaded pretty quickly to. It doesn't seem like it'd have the staying power to keep the same names popping up in the I/T comments for years and years. Just seems to me that there'd have to be something deeper than a superficial thrill.

So there's this new thing-new to me at least-called "Gooning" and the gist of it is that people watch so much porn that real life sex loses its excitement and they'd rather masturbate to porn then be with a partner.

Looking at the singles scene these days, they might be better off.

Here's how porn addiction has been explained to me: In most cases, it's not about self-gratification ("I masturbate because it feels good"), but about escapism ("I masturbate because, while I do it, I don't feel so bad").

If that's true, your explanation is probably very correct... and that doesn't exactly bode well for society for completely different reasons.

It's not so surprising, considering how easily available porn is. I remember being a horny teenager, and apart from the real thing, there were only dirty magazines, and you even had to go through all the embarrassment of buying them. So we were all ready to swim across the ocean just for a chance to get some action with a girl, even if it was just copping a feel.
These days, porn is everywhere, so I guess after watching hours of videos of porn stars and their toned bodies doing some extreme things, it's not easy to get excited about some vanilla sex with a regular girl or a guy. It's worrying but it's also understandable. It's human nature to go for the easier way to achieve satisfaction. It's also probably the only way to satisfy some more extreme or fetish-related fantasies.

That's an interesting point. I can kind of understand it, but that phrasing makes it sound like there's a sharp distinction and I can't quite wrap my head around that part.

But maybe that's what separates someone who really likes to escape into porn and someone who's truly addicted?

Personally, I escape into things because I find pleasure in them.

When I was a teenager, I loved to party. I followed that cliche where it a ton of fun until I began to realize that I'd forgotten how to have fun without it--but even at the lowest, I wouldn't say it wasn't about self-gratification. It was about that, and then it also became about the escapism.

That might be true for a quick jerk porno,
And it is somnething of a self-fulfilling cycle. Since it's the most popular, it has the best looking girls in it (at least for the step-sibs ones), which makes it more popular. I bet to a lot of people watching step videos, the incest part is completely secondary, if even that, to the reason for watching it.

The Daily Mail, the paper that supported Mosley's fascists.

Avoid.
