My daughter just moved into a new home. She and Barney, the perfect dog, now live about 5 miles from me. I spent the past several days helping her move and making a few repairs to her home. (Let me tell you that it is a real pain in the ass to replace an old bathroom faucet).

The other day I recieved a thank you card
from my 30 year old daughter. She thanked her "daddy" for his help. I can't tell you how much I loved the sentiment. I'll always be her daddy, no matter how old she is.

I would never expect to hear my son call me "daddy". Just like I would never expect to hear my daughter call me "pops". Whatever they call me, I am proud to be their father.

Blue, I am 40 and my Daddy will always be my Daddy.

It is great to hear a dad talk like you do about his kids.

I couldn't agree more with Shy....my mom has gone from "mommy" to "mother" with some brief stops at "momma", but my daddy has ALWAYS been "Daddy".

*I miss my daddy*

What a great sentiment! Something to cherish for the rest of your life.

Congratulations Flamingo Blue. It means you have been there for your daughter and you have a wonderful bond.
I am very fortunate as well to have a very close relationship with my daughters.
It makes a big old happy face on the heart when you get sentiments like that.
