I went over 30 years without having a tornado warning. Then in the last 5 years, we've had at least 3 a year. Wednesday we had an EF2 hit, began a mile away, ended up less than half a mile from my home. To be honest, I wasn't afraid. I looked to our chicken-shit cat. He stayed under the dining room table, because of the thunder. When it got darker than midnight here, I did worry, was ready to scoop him up and head to the coal bin in the basement.

When it started to lighten, I went to the front door, looked out the little window. I turned around and saw the cat eating. I guess that was his sign of all clear.

I can't imagine what people are going through in the Midwest.

I've spent all my Saturday doing errands, cleaning, washing, making fudge and miracle custard cake, vacuuming and cleaning up the spare room and getting rid the last of the boxes.

I just got home myself, and it was so odd driving home and seeing how many downed limbs and such there were. As well as people cleaning out their basements from the flooding!

"Bad enough - lots of damage - one local hospital, lots of homes both east and west of the Mississippi River - Thankfully although there have been reports of injuries, I haven't heard of any fatalities yet. OK City wasn't so lucky."

I know I'll get in trouble at work for it, but I gave out free coffee to all the police, EMT's, and those who were working to clean up the mess here. We have more storms on the way too.

Glad to see everyone made it through. I lost power around 730pm it didnt come back til a short time ago. Tornado touched down a few blocks from my house. Lots of limbs and other debris around. Neighbors tree down and half fell over into my yard. Gonna need some clean up this weekend.

Good afternoon/evening everyone! Welcome to the new Daddies! Seriously, this thread is one of the most supportive ones I've found on Lit. I am so thankful to have found it when I did.

I'm happy to see that everyone survived this last round of storms. We are supposed to be getting another round of them, hopefully not as severe. My regional manager told me that if it gets too bad outside while at work, that I'm to lock the doors and hang out in the bathrooms until it passes.
