Deciding that the hole is not the best of places to be, but determined to retain some semblance of rose tinted free thought, props own shovel against side of hole and climbs up onto handle and out, reaching down to retrieve said implement.
Now red faced from a mixture of exertion and embarrassment, walks into great room ''Good morning dear Littles and Daddies'' then dutifully prepares a tray with two coffees, muffins and butter plus Coopers thick marmalade and retires quietly to usual corner table, Sporting Life and comics at the ready.

(Heading out to the lab to get fasting bloodwork drawn - looking with longing at Danish and muffins, coffee and juice but steadfastly ignoring them) "No Daddy HS - it's not a terrible crime at all - admittedly, in text it is sometimes difficult to know when you are being teased back, having a partial suspicion regarding my sister's intent when saying 'we wouldn't do that.....'. I, for one, had fingers firmly crossed behind my back when I heard her." hhmmmm ... shuffles out with a well used copy of the Daily Racing Form, full of notes for the Grand National at Aintree today.
spies a coffee tray laden with cooling brew and brings a fresh pot ... stepping around the deep hole in the Great Room and makes a note to have it backfilled before anyone else falls victim to it.
Sits at my usual corner table, and carefully warms mugs and butters an extra muffin ... if someone might be interested

(Dropping groceries sacks on the kitchen counters.) "My Daddy has been working so hard, at his job and taking care of me while I was sick that I thought I'd help with dinner this weekend.... Tonight is just casual - black bean chili with a heap of everyone's favorite fixin's but tomorrow night I'm making lasagna, salad, zabaglione, garlic bread - the works!" (Emptying bags on the counter and beginning to chop onions, celery and peppers in quantities and sauteeing them in olive oil.)
