Offers you a hug for yourself, and offers you my best wishes for your mother

I appreciate both very much. *hugs* back.

I went through that with my mother last May. First diagnosis was stage 4 with metastasis. I'm happy to talk about it if you think it will help you.

I'm so very sorry to hear/read that Tappy. :( I'm here if you need to talk.

"We all have stress all the time Candy - there is good stress, like getting a new job or a new relationship. And there is the other kind, like you are currently experiencing. I've found that, for me - it's not so much the stress of the events themselves, it is worrying about them, trying to 'fix' things or change them. His Holiness the Dalai Lama said something on the order of, "If you can change it - why worry? If you CAN'T change it - why worry? So why worry?" I have to remind myself of that regularly. Doing something productive and physically demanding can help - re-arranging furniture or scrubbing the floor (really scrubbing it - on hands and knees) or something similar. Or doing something that takes your mind completely off your own troubles by putting your attention on helping someone else. I think once you stop having to wait and get to go to your brother's and help with your mother that you may feel a little less stressed in that way - but you'll probably still feel quite emotional, of course. You can always come here and vent to any of us, or send a PM if you need a shoulder to cry on. Keep us posted on how things are going - for you and for your family." (((HUGS)))

So much good advice there Peaches, thank you for all of it. :rose: She lived with us for a year and only went home 2 weeks ago. Not being there now is maddening. A very dear friend is driving me down on Wed. no idea how long i'll be gone. Just found out she's officially done with chemo and on hospice. She has barely been able to breathe for the last week so they're putting her on oxygen. i just want her not to hurt anymore. Thank you so much for your care and compassion.

i look forward to being here on brighter days.

Hello to everyone! As usual, my Mondays are a bit hectic, but I've managed to get some nice posts up on the BBW Bold thread. (just a reminder to newbies, these are NOT of me..:p)

I also failed at a little self control this afternoon, but I had trouble biting my tongue and tying my fingers. I've been in quite the mood lately, and wish my heavy bag was hung up somewhere. I could always get out my frustrations that way when I was younger. Now the darn thing just sits, propped up in a corner.

My diet seems to be working! My pants keep falling off, lol! I wish I had a partner to walk with though. The kiddos are great, but they want to wander off here, there, and yonder.. They make for interesting, if not exactly heart healthy, walks. :D

I am getting parts to fix my vacuum cleaner! Woot!

I've been out of the workforce for a while now, but think I'd like to get a position at the local VA hospital. I tried for a position a month or so ago, but you have to apply via USAjobs.gov and if ever there was a pita process to getting a job....Phew-Wee...

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday, or Tuesday as the case may be for some of us. :rose:

(Giggling) "I used to have the same trouble when I went walking with the dog - he was a beagle.....the only thing that got exercise was my patience! I understand too about the VA applications - I've actually looked at them - YIKES!"

Big hugs Cookie!!!! I've been sending up extra thoughts and prayers for everyone involved. :rose::rose:

Thank you soooo, sooo much!!!! She was barely 40..just dropped..no known illness, no drugs..just gone. Thankfully, her children didn't find her as they were due to be home soon after she was discovered. Her littlest and I have become closer, but there is nothing I can say or do to bring her mommy back..heart breaking.

That goes for you too, Peaches. :)

It is a blessing that the kids didn't find her. Poor sweeties. You can keep their Mom's memory alive for them. Maybe you could write a few memories and then make them each a photo book with those stories? (Costco even has a book making program).

Take time to grieve. We are here for you!

"Wish our taste of spring had lasted longer - but at least we're getting closer. Yes, morning calls are my favorite......except for bedtime calls......or hanging out together during the evening and watching TV calls.......or having dinner together calls.........."

LOL! Yes all of the above are the bestest! You deserve all of them. :rose::rose:

Oh, my dear..I've missed you as well as the others.

We all have days like that. It is their problem to work out at that point. :)
Congrats on the baggy pants! I was telling Peaches (we're neighbors) that we need to take advantage not the wonderful trails near by, once the weather breaks. FYI...I'm not against tethered children. They aren't leashed dogs as some parents would lead others to believe.:) Keeps em' where you need em'. Depending on their ages, bring their bikes..skates..etc...anything to keep them moving right along. With my kids, once we had the walk or run, then see would slowly make our way back..enjoying the scenery.

"Yes we absolutely will - SOON - the days are getting longer and the weather is getting better!" (Giggles) "Did I ever tell you about having to tie my oldest to a tree when he was about 2. We went camping and he kept throwing himself in the river......and he could move FAST!"

Oh my Lloyd! I can imagine you doing that! Hell, I could imagine ME doing that!

(Giggles) "We made a sort of harness we could slide him into out of clothesline and he had PLENTY of lead......almost enough to play in the poison ivy patch but NOT quite!";)

I like that idea. Though Benadryl is less obvious!
Hi peaches and all the little girls and Daddies. So many new faces so welcome to those folks as well

Hi Cookie! Long time no see! How are things in peaches country?

"Hi Daddy Stan - Benadryl wouldn't work on my monsters.......erm, boys. Always made them HYPER! Hows everything? How's everyone?"

*sighs and sits in the computer chair with her feet tucked up under her* So ... I've been chatting with a liquor store manager for references on my story ... and it's helped ... I got a little chunk written tonight after the Littlun was abed ...

Welp! I got extra hours this week ... and then was told by a manager today that my schedule has to be adjusted this week to detract the added hours I worked yesterday ... *blinks owlishly through my glasses* ... apparently, overtime isn't allowed by The Company unless one is management. Blast.

Hope everyone is doing well!
*huggles and smooches to my fellow sisters, and blown kisses to all the Daddies*

Hugs to those that need it :)

Hi cutie! I'll take some of those! I need 'em. Hugs back to you!!

Good morning Bella. Glad to hear all is well. Darn--extra hours can be helpful to the bottom line. Hugs!

"That sucks! They call you in to work on your day off but then you can't get overtime for it....:( INL is right - I'd never make budget if it weren't for overtime! Good that your writing is moving along. Sometimes the research is the best part....at least that's what the SO always says - he LOVES when I'm researching a scene ;) (giggles). Have a good one!"
