Losing my religion - REM (sorry REM haters ;) )
Second that emotion - Japan
More than words - Extreme
Time after time - Eva Cassidy
Love Machine - Arctic Monkeys version
California Stars -Billy Bragg & Wilko

so your a secret slush-puppy?

i confess i haven't herd Eva's Imagine.... i better go seek

Bayou Pon Pon – Cajun Vibrations
Cupid – Sam Cooke
Wizards in Winter – Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Calendar Girl – Neil Sedaka
Roller Derby Queen – Jim Croce
Senza Catene (Unchained Melody) – Il Divo
Information Undertow – Dada
On and on and on – Abba

Eight is DEFINITELY NOT enough

My book would have to be Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

And my guilty pleasure luxury item – well – since he’s a world traveler and sexy as hell – a handsome Litster - Clearlight would be my choice.

8 songs? dunno if I could pick 8 cd's. I guess I'd have to start with one song from each of my favorite bands....

who you are - dada
hang on for your life - shooting star
while time is left - atlanta rhythm section
fight the good fight - triumph
************************
still got the blues - gary moore
go your own way - fleetwood mac (for when I need a good cry)
over the mountain - ozzy osbourne (30 seconds of the awesomest guitar ever recorded)
do you feel like we do - peter frampton (cuz it's a great song and it's so long it's almost like having an extra song. which is why I'm going to replace the fleetwood mac song with 2112 by rush.)

book would be The Stand

luxury item would be an acoustic guitar

This was difficult...... but fun.

When I unpack my books, I'll post a couple of my favorite poems by Walter Benton. He's a relatively unknown poet without a lot of works to his credit.
Here is a poem from Walter Benton's This is My Beloved. The book of poems is written as a series of journal entries.

ENTRY April 28

Because hate is legislated...written into
the primer and the testament,
shot into our blood and brain like vaccine or vitamins

because our day is of time, of hours -- the clock-hands turns,
closes the circle upon us: and black timeless night
sucks us in like quicksand, receives us totally --
without a raincheck or a parachute, a key to heaven or the last long look

I need love more than ever now . . .I need your love,
I need love more than hope or money, wisdom or a drink

because slow negative death withers the world -- and only yes
can turn the tide
because love has your face and body... and your hands are tender
and your mouth is sweet -- and God has made no other eyes like yours.

yeah, I'd hate to leave the fleetwood mac tune off, too, but everything else I picked has much better lead guitar (in my opinion). the big attraction to me for "go your own way" is the lyrics....

if I could, baby I'd give you my world
how can I when you won't take it from me?

those lines kill me every time.

I'm not sure if that's the case. I just happen to wander the road less traveled.
