Somewhere in Canada a woman who was chatting to cyber friends became ill. As she blacked out she managed to type in 911. The others in the chat room were able to trace her address and called the R.C.M.P. who arrived to find her unconcsious on the floor.

She's allive today thanks to folk in a chat room just like this one. :)

I heard about that ... problem is this is not a chat room and only few people can trace

True, and - on second thoughts - who in here would take that seriously anyway? There have been too many false alarms.

That was just my morning blurt......as you were.

Was it really a trace to her address? Or did someone in the room actually know her and knew her real name and the city she lived in?

The time it would take to 1) find her IP address, 2) contact her ISP, 3) get them to give out personal information, 4) contact the authorities and make them believe you is... is... is... nuts. No way.

I think she was on pretty familiar terms with the others so they probably had her where abouts figured already. Plus, they knew she was ill.

That's great, but not as good as resurrections though.

She lives in Vancouver. She was tracked because a couple of people knew her home phone number and one woman/buddy in Washington called 911 for BC and they tracked her home down through the home phone number.

Thanks Mia.....I didn't catch the details. I just thought it was a "feel-good" story in the news - for once.
