Now here is a thing, it is a simple question but I would quite like if it proved to cover a multitude of things.

When I sit by my window I look out across the square where market is held three mornings a week, in the afternoons it is used as a car park.
It's summer, it's hot, the girls and women that adorn my streets wear less and less, I get distracted prefering to watch their clear plastic bra straps twinkle in the sun light and the brown tummy's peeping between tee-shirt and hipsters rather than do a multitude of things I should be doing, heck I'm only human.

So I've noticed this thing, a trait. When girls park their cars they hit the 'plip' to activate the central locking and walk away. When men park, they hit the 'plip' and then go round and check every door to make sure it is locked.

Why?

Incidentally, this is the last week from me for a while, I'm off to the UK en-route for Norway, be back here for a short spell mid August but I suspect too busy to spend time here and I will be in Venice for the first part of September. My Lit. Olympics story will be submitted this week along with a new story. Have fun.

I would say that's more of a male trait than a female trait. And I don't know because I don't do that.

But I suspect is more because many males regard their car as a symbol of who they are. Their car is their baby as well as their own little ego trip. If I had to guess I would say if you looked more closely that the guys with expensive BWMs and Audis will be more parranoid than the guy driving a Honda.

You know, he wouldn't be as much of a man if he didn't have a BMW kind of mindset.

But that's just my opinion.

CD

P.S. Have a good trip.

i never lock my car... infact im always hoping it might just get stolen..
though if someone stole my car.. they would have to be in dire need... and they could go with my blessing. (please just leave the cds on the curb)

Round here it is quite a thing for the wife to drive the husband's BMW or Range Rover, that is what I'm guessing. It seems to be a style thing, they step out looking fresh minted and stroll away hitting the 'plip' over their shoulder more concious that they should be seen than that the car has locked.

I do intend to have a great trip, the Venice thing only came up this morning as a result of rescheduling our Norway visit, turned out cheaper to book new tickets to Norway and convert the original bookings to Venice, the wonders of the free market and the Internet.:D

Vella,
Why not just copy your CD's, then you won't have to worry about the car being stolen. What car is it? If it's better than my 20yr old Honda, I'll be right over. ;)
