Lord grey snapped his head around as he heard a strong clear voice;

“LET GO OF ME!"

He pushed the two women aside and went straight towards the sound, people parted and made a path towards the struggle. It was Kanya, Velten Grey felt his anger rise and broke into a run his cloak black as night behind him as he reached the struggle. His voice was a thunderous whip that cracked into the man.

“ALEXANDER FLORENTINE!”

Alexander’s head whipped around to face Lord grey. Grey’s eyes glowed yellow and his voice was a deep, rumbling growl.

“Unhand her you filthy, worthless excuse for a man.”

Alexander was stunned for a moment, enough time for Kanya to break free and run towards Lord grey, once she reached him she turned and looked back, her head held defiantly. He started towards her his face red with anger but was stopped in his tracks as Velten used his considerable vampiric strength to slap him with the back of his hand. The force of the blow sent Alexander sprawling. Lord Grey hissed.

“You have no right to her, you have not followed protocol and have conducted yourself like an oaf.”

Alexander spat on the floor and the crowd gasped as they saw blood.

“How dare you.” he snarled and drew himself up to his full height. To someone of a shorter stature this may have been intimidating however he was only taller by a few inches.

“She must be disciplined, her silly dreams and fables are not becoming of a woman and she must learn her place!”

He lunged again but this time was greeted by Lord Grey’s ornate cane, the handle was made of silver and carved in the shape of a snarling wolf’s head. the tip was cold steel and it was currently lodged in Alexander's throat. Lord grey pushed the cane forward and Alexander stumbled back coughing. Lord grey lightly thrust the cane at his shoulder and he fell down once more. He stood over Alexander, his cane resting on the floor with his hands clasped over it. His voice was level, but the anger behind it was clear.

“You have not gained the permission to court her let alone touch her, you have not asked the permission of her parents who I’m sure would be delighted to know how you have overstepped your boundaries.”

The crowd murmured and Alexander growled “I suppose you have then?”

A dangerous wicked smile appeared on Velten Grey’s face “I have the blessing of the king”

His face turned pale and he scrambled up and out the door, fuming as he went. Lord Grey turned to Kanya, his eyes returning to their natural colour, then he took her hand, kissed it, and bowed deeply.

Kanya caught the eyes of Lord Grey when she was running to him. Yellow, his eyes turned yellow. She glared back at the man that accosted and stepped to the side while she watched Lord Grey defend her. When it was over he returned to her his eyes were normal once again as they looked back to hers. His hand cool to the touch as he kissed it. Her look to him was one of confusion. He led her to the floor for a dance and she still said nothing.

For the rest of the night he was near if not by her side. Her mind was reeling. Did she really see yellow eyes or was it her mind wishing she had. It was when he took her hand again for another dance that she rationalized what he was. It also explained why she felt safe when she was around him.

"Tonight. Our secret" she said to him as they danced. He was a graceful dancer and although she was forced to dance with others she could tell that he was watching. She also found herself being irritated as he took others out on to the floor. 'Was this what jealousy felt like' she wondered. She found she didn't like it at all.

The ball soon came to a close and she returned home with her parents. They retired as she was intended to do. Instead she crept out and ran toward the cabin to meet him. She ran and ran until she came upon the log cabin gasping for breath as she went inside where he waited with a few books.
It took her a few moments to catch her breath. "I know what you are" she said matter of factly as she stared at him. "I'm not going to say anything, no one would believe me anyway. But i am right arn't I?"

Lord Grey spent the entire night with one eye on Kanya, wondering if she had noticed his eyes. As they danced with each other his suspicions were confirmed when she drew him close and whispered.

"Tonight. Our secret"

The ball ended and he was taken home. As soon as he arrived he removed his cloak and gave his cane to Alessandro.

“I shall be in the woods, prepare my coffin for my return.”

He nodded and Lord Grey went to the library to select a few books before he ran towards the cabin. Flying across the ground he covered the distance in no time at all and opened the door. The cabin was large, with enough to room to house a bed, a large stove, and a brick fireplace at one end. He put the the books on a table then stood and waited. It did not take long before he heard footsteps, she appeared at the door panting for breath then announced that she knew who he was.

"I'm not going to say anything, no one would believe me anyway. But I am right aren't I?"

He smiled, his fangs gleaming in the moonlight.

“You are correct Miss St Claire, I knew you would figure it out yourself but I needed to make sure you came to the conclusion yourself to see how you would react. It is most fortunate that you have an interest in my kind, otherwise you would’ve no doubt reacted with hatred.”

He walked towards her, closing the distance quickly till he stood in front of her, he closed the door behind her, his eyes locked on hers.

“The larger question however, is not what I am, but which vampire I am?”

Kanya stood firm as he walked up to her. Her eyes stared into his as she took a moment to reflect on all he said. "You're the one" she said in a questioning tone. "You left me alone, and subjected me to a life time of ridicule." she realized how absurd that sounded when she said it. What was he suppose to do? Take her with him? Kill her?.

She shook her head. "I didn't mean that." she said softly. "I just wish you had taken me with you. Instead of leaving me in this cage of a life. You showed me something unintentionally which changed who i was and wanted to be."

Her emotions were fluttering as she continued. "I don't know what i'm suppose to do now. I don't know what you expect from me. We had a deal but does this change it? I don't know what i'm doing. I just know that i'm suppose to fear you but i don't. I'm not suppose to care who you dance with, but i do. I have never been this confused about anything before."

Kanya stood exasperated at the range of emotions she was experiencing. Half of her wanted to run, half of her wanted to stay. The reality was he was who had saved her and changed her life at the same time. He was also the one that had been exchanging thoughts and treating her as his equal. He was the one that protected her this evening when everyone else stood by gaping.

"what do you want from me?" she questioned as her blue eyes stared into his.

He stood and listened as her feelings poured out, the anger and the relief that she had been right all along battle within her. She chastised him then assaulted him with questions then calmed slightly. still flustered, her thoughts everywhere as she tried to make sense of it all. Finally she stared into his dark green and brown eyes.

"what do you want from me?"

This was an interesting question, before he had simply been intrigued but now it was something else, he could feel it, transforming and growing inside him. He realised that since the time he had saved her it had been lying there waiting for her to return. It had guided his choices, shaped his personality, softening him slightly from the heartless creature he had once been. It had driven him to be there for her, to accept her as his equal. The answer suddenly became clear.

“I want know you, I have never thought about exactly why I saved you that night, it was out of character for me at the time but your cries for help and the way you looked at me with wonder and awe was instead of fear has never left me.”

His hand moved to her face, stroking her cheek and running his fingers through her hair.

“You are different, you are fearless, you are as I once said, unlike anyone I have ever met.”

He stopped and drew his hand away.

“Whatever you choose from here on out, know that I will always be there for you, I have not known it till now, but it has always been my true destination since that night. The deal stands as long as you wish it to.”

The coolness of his touch against her face and hair caused her to loose her breath, then he had taken it away just as quickly. He gave her his answer. She knew it was honest.

"I don't think anyone has ever wanted to get to know me" she said a bit perplexed at his answer. "But i am ok with keeping the deal, as long as we can have our secret meetings to discuss things. Obviously i don't need to read about Vampires because you can tell me all there is to know." she smirked slowly stepping forward and placing a light kiss on his cheek.

"So tell me Lord Grey what books did you bring me, and what is actually accurate with in them?"
They sat for a few hours and talked of all things Vampire until it was time for them to both return

"I think tonights conversation was my favorite Lord Grey, Shall i see you again tonight?"

He smiled at the warmth of her kiss, it was a feeling he had never encountered before. They talked for a few hours as he answered her questions about what was true and what wasn’t before she stifled a yawn. He smiled as she asked if she would see him again. His voice was a soft low hum in the dim light.

“For our next meeting you shall come to my place of residence, we must keep up appearances, I shall pen a letter to your parents asking permission for you to spend the evening at my home. Of course they will insist on a chaperon. I’m sure they can be dealt with.”

He chuckled dark and deep as Kanya playfully scolded him, in truth it was surprisingly relaxing to be around someone who he did not instantly cower in his presence when they learnt of his true nature.

He of course insisted on seeing her back and she left his arm at the edge of the woods. Once in her room she stared out her window into the darkness. For a moment she thought she could make out his form but her human eyes played tricks with the darkness and shadows.

Lying in bed she thought about the words he had spoken to her. A childs awe had changed his resolve in some small way. Just as he had shaped her world. They were connected. He had also declared he would always be there for her. Her last thought before finally drifting off to sleep was that of his hand upon her face. She had limited experience with touch. But she hoped that he would do it again. A small crossed her full lips as she drifted to sleep.

The birds chatter woke her in the morning. When she went to move she winced at her muscles. Further examination of her arms showed deep bruises from where Florentine had grabbed her. Eventually making it out of bed she found a plain long sleeved dress that would cover them.

Once she finally made it to breakfast and sat down with great attempt to shield her discomfort her mother began "I'm not sure what you did to deserve it, but Lord Grey has requested your presence for dinner. I've already accepted on your behalf so you will be going. I'll have your dress picked out when its time for you to get ready."

"I will go, but i will wear what i have on." She declared in response. "You most certainly will not." "Mother if you expect me to behave and mind my manners you will allow me to choose the dress of my choice. If not I will ensure that he never makes the request again. Which would be a shame since i can actually tolerate his presence."
"Very well" her mother finally agreed knowing full well Kanya would carry out her threat if pushed to it. "Also if i am to have a chaperon it will be Maria, not you." Her mother scoffed and nodded.

"You're not well miss" Maria told her as she fixed her hair. "you can fool others but not me." "not a word about it Maria, especially to Lord Grey." Maria nodded and they descended down the stairs to the waiting carriage.

The ride was bumpy but short as they pulled out front of his home. The sun had just began to disappear. Alessandro led them into the library to await for Lord Grey. Picking up a book off the table she sat down gingerly and flipped through the pages.

Her face lighted up as he entered the room. "Lord Grey it is a pleasure to see you, this is my servant Marie, i believe you've met." "Lord Grey" Marie bubbled curtsying low to him. Very slowly trying to mask her wince she rose and slowly walked to him.

Lord grey readied himself for her arrival, silently he mused as to why he put so much effort into impressing her when clearly such pomp was not important to her. instead he opted for a shirt and waistcoat and a more relaxed style of hose. Alessandro arrived in due time to inform him of her arrival, he walked to the library and saw her face brighten as he entered the room. She greeted him and introduced her handmaid Marie, he smiled, so she was to be their chaperone, he had a feeling Kanya had a hand in this.

Marie smiled and curtseyed before him and Kanya got up and tried to mask a wince, Lord Grey frowned and walked to her gathering her in his arms.

“You are hiding something Kanya, what is it?”

His eyes darkened slightly as she looked up at him. Gently he slipped his arms under her legs and lifted her in his arms. His voice was low as he spoke.

“Marie, could you please tell Alessandro to prepare the master bedroom and have some hot water and cloth brought there.” He turned his attention to the woman in his arms. “I believe this is the second time I have held you Miss St Claire.”

He walked through the house until he reached the bedroom, it was a huge room with a massive four poster bed at one end. A large wardrobe was at the other and smaller drawers sat on either side of the bed, a chair stood in the centre of the room while the curtains were drawn over a large set of windows that opened onto a balcony. He lay her on the bed and lit a candle, Alessandro arrive and set the water and cloth next to him on the top of the drawers. he rolled up his sleeves.

“You are intriguing Kanya, I must admit I have never felt such need to look after the health of a human.”

He asked her firmly what she was hiding and she didn't answer. She didn't want to lie to him and at the same time she didn't want to tell him.

She gasped as he picked her up shooting out orders and carrying her to the bedroom. "I am fine" she protested weakly trying to get off the bed. "Please" she begged not wanting him to discover the bruises.

"Its just some sore muscles Velten" she protested realizing that he was focused on his task and it was pointless to argue with him. If he saw the bruises she wasn't sure what he would do. It wasn't that she cared what he would do to Florentine. But rather what might happen if he were caught. Risking loosing him was not something she wanted to do.

Helping her sit up he had Marie come and undo the laces from her dress. She of course had her undergarments on in plenty and would be sufficient in hiding her nakedness. Her eyes closed tightly as she pulled the sleeves off and revealed her arms. Marie gasped loudly.

A deep growl issued from Velten’s throat as Marie gasped, his hands moved over the bruises that were scattered on her arms. His eyes flickered to yellow and glowed. He didn’t need to guess who had done this to her nor did he want to imagine what had happened had he not intervened. His words came out in a flat tone, dark and low.

“Marie, make sure Kanya is attended to, go and find Alessandro if you require aid in attending to Miss St Claire.”

Kanya could see his muscles tense and his hand clench and unclench. The room seemed to dim as he strode towards his wardrobe and selected a long coat. Leaving his shirt on and open he also removed his cane and started to walk towards the door.

"Please don't go" she pleaded with a tad of fear in her tone. It was as much as a surprise to her as it had to be to him. She watched his eyes and saw the anger she assumed would be there. Her heart was racing and tears welled up in her eyes. "Please don't go. I'll do whatever you want. I'll marry you. Just please don't go".
The words she spoke were heartfelt and she meant them. It still didn't take away the shock of what she said. Her eyes searched his and waited for his answer.

He stopped, his rage doused suddenly by her voice, the pleading in her tone throwing water on his burning need to rip the heart out of the man who had hurt the woman he had once saved from death. He heard her beg him not to go, promising she would do anything if he would not leave to enact revenge. He was slightly surprised she had been able to calm him down somewhat and he turned his golden eyes to hers, his lips turned slightly in a snarl. Marie stopped in the middle of getting up and sank back to the wall.

“Why, why should he not suffer for what he did. That man does not deserve to draw breath for what he did.” His voice seethed with bridled rage.

He threw his cane aside and strode towards the edge of the bed, he knelt and grabbed Kanya’s arm then his eyes softened to their natural colour and his hand stroked down her arm. His voice turned soft as his anger died down from his touch on her skin.

“I apologise, but look at what he’s done to you, I cannot let this go unpunished.” His eyes turned to hers.

"You asked me why. At least allow me to answer before you make up your mind. Please Velten. You told me i was fearless. Until you picked me up and i knew that you find a way to see what ailed me. I thought i was fearless. I didn't want you not to see because of some false modesty. I didn't want you to see because I knew that you would be furious. I knew that if you were furious you might do something that could jeopardize your life here. I don't care what happens to that man, but what i do care about is loosing you. What happens if you're seen, or suspected? what happens if you're forced to flee? I would loose you all over again. That is what I fear. You promised me you would always be here for me. If you go and are unable to return. If I loose you I am afraid that i will shrivel up and die. You left me once. Please don't do it again. I cannot go through it again." Tears fell from her eyes as she pleaded with him.

Velten knelt and listened, his mood softening as he listened to Kanya pour her heart out. The tears glistened in her eyes as she told him how much she needed him, how she could not bear the pain of something happening to him. His hand slipped into her as she spoke. When she was finished she sniffed and Velten slowly used his thumb to wipe her tears. he stood and removed his jacket, it fell to the floor, he rolled up his sleeves. His voice was soft but deep and commanding.

“Marie, leave us, Alessandro should be in the servants quarters, tell him I have given leave for you both and the servants to eat in the dining room tonight. Go. Now.”

Marie nodded and quickly left, the door closing loudly behind her. He turned his attention back to Kanya and sat on the bed pulling the covers around her, he took a warm cloth and squeezed it out then slowly drew it down her arms where the bruises were.

“I did not realise how much you cared for me, nor I you, my anger at Florentines treatment of you and your sadness at the thought of losing me has made me see that.”

He put the cloth down then moved towards her, his hands slipping around her waist then kissed her long and deep.

Kanya was drained emotionally when she had finished. She listened to his rationalization of the words she had spoken. She didn't know that she had felt so strongly for him either. At least she didn't recognize it until he said it. She watched as he ran the cloth down her arm and then placed it to the side. His lips were upon hers as he kissed her deeply. Her arms went up around his neck and she continued to explore his mouth as her tongue entwined with his. All of her pent up emotions had come out this evening, and now he was slowly awaking the woman that was inside of her.

Slowly he broke the kiss and her eyes fluttered open looking into his eyes in amazement and wonder. Her fingers went to his face where they lightly stroked his cool skin. "Thank you for not leaving me" she said softly as an innocent smile crossed her lips.

Kanya wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly to her. She wasn't sure what all this meant other then they cared for each other. They had a great deal to talk over at some point but right now she was just enjoying the moment of being in his arms.

"I should probably get dressed" She said light heartily breaking the silence. Slowly she started to slide back into the sleeves of the dress and had him lace her up in the back. "you're rather good at that Lord Grey" she mused teasing him.

Velten had never felt so much need to care for someone in his life and savored the feeling of her warm fingers on his face. They held one another tightly then let go, he was slightly disappointed to let go. This intrigued him as his kind were more prone to such base feelings as hunger, anger and desire. he would have to talk more of these emotions with her when next they met.

She mentioned she should get dressed and she slid into her dress. He moved to her and deftly began to tie the criss-crossed laces on the back of it, she smiled and teased him.

"you're rather good at that Lord Grey"

He smiled as he started to pull them tight and fasten them.

“One does not live this long with acquiring certain skills, however how I learnt them is maybe not a story for the faint of heart.” He chuckled “Which you are certainly not Miss St Claire, another time perhaps”

He finished and then offered her his arm, they walked to out to the hallway and he called to one of the staff over to fetch Marie. When they reached the door he turned and held her hands.

“I like you have little understanding of what this all means aside from my need to comfort and care for you, I hope that we may discuss this further in the future.”

He embraced her, drawing her close then let go as Marie arrived.

"It would be my pleasure to continue that conversation at a future date Lord Grey." She smiled to him her eyes dancing and a light glow to her face. On the way home Kanya made it clear that tonight's happenings never happened. If her mother asked, and she would to simply advise her they had a pleasant dinner and a walk in the garden.

Sitting in her window seat she stared out into the darkness and up to the moon an stars in the sky. Her tongue went lightly over her lips as she remembered the feel of his deep sensual kiss. She understood that whatever this was between them was as new to him as it was to her. It wasn't in his nature to feel a connection to what would normally be considered her food.

Time was what they both needed to consider the event that took place. She was proud enough to want the admiration to be mutual for both parties. She had seem few happy unions in her time. People married for station and dowry, not for friendship and whatever else was happening.

The next day she stayed mostly to her room resting and reading. Her muscles felt a little better as were her bruises. She wrote a quick note to Lord Grey thanking him for the wonderful evening and that she looked forward to continuing their conversation at a future date.

Much to her dismay there was a caller to see her. As she descended the stairs she saw Florentine standing in her foyer. "Your presence is not wanted here please leave"
She announced firmly frozen on the stairs.
"Please I have come to apologize for my horrid behavior and ask for the favor of courting you"

"I am already being courted and will never consent to it. Good day." With that she turned and quickly made her way up the stairs. What audacity that man had to ask permission to court her.

With only a slight mention on Kanyas part later that evening her mother sent an invitation for Lord Grey to join them for dinner. Once again her mother was beside herself that her daughter would even make the request.

Lord grey sat and read the note from Kanya thanking him for the evening, his mind was in a strange place. Whatever was left of his humanity glow as he thought about the kiss they had shared the previous evening. The vampire part of him, which decreased his range of what could be called emotions to hunger, anger and bloodlust, was at odds with this feeling. It left him confused and eager to continue to meet Kanya and explore this newfound feeling of caring for someone other than himself.

That evening an invitation arrived for dinner with the St Claire’s, Velten made the necessary arrangements and the following night arrived to greet Kanya’s parents. They seemed to be in a state of joy that their daughter had chosen a suitor whom she wished to be courted by. After dinner Velten offered to take Kanya for a walk through the woods, assuring them he would keep her safe.

Her parents were delighted and watched them as they walked into the still night. They walked arm in arm through the forest towards their secret place and the entered. Lord grey hung his cloak up and sat on the chair near the bed as Kanya removed her shoes and sat on the edge of the bed facing him, a soft smile on her lips. He returned her smile.

“I have a question for you Miss Claire.” He handed her a book, it looked old and worn, but well looked after, she opened it as she listened to him speaking.. “You may have read this one, it’s about the nature of vampires when they are turned. How the human soul is lost and……..”

He stopped and frowned, Kanya looked up from the book he had handed her “In short terms i have no soul, However I am curious as to the nature of what is left of my humanity, it is strange that I should feel this need to care for you.”

He looked into her eyes, blue as the ocean. “Tell me, do you wish me to kiss again?”

Kanya smiled softly and blushed as he asked her if she wished for him to kiss her again. Instead of answering that question she replied to his statement.

"I have read somethings that indicate that. Perhaps not this book, but several others. Given my experience however i always chalked it up to myth. How could a soulless vampire save an innocent child? You could have just as easily had a snack out of me with very little resistance given the increased strength you possess. I have read a childs blood is like a delicacy not tainted by greed or sins. Yet you chose to save me.

Not just once but you chose to save me from Flourintine as well, you could have easily stood by and watched and fed off his rage and anger. Then after you saw my bruises, your reaction was to go after him to avenge the injustice that was thrust upon me. That is not the act of a soulless man.

Seeing my distress and my plee you chose not to do that. Yet another act of one that possesses a soul. Your heart may not beat inside your chest, but it does still beat Velten."

Very slowly she reached out and stroked his face letting her fingers caress over his skin. "I need to tell you something but before i do I need you to remember that i am here and i am fine. The only reason i am telling you this is because i have no wishes to keep anything from you. I didn't want you to hear it by any other source and react. Don't look at me like that "she smirked

"We both know you have a flaring temper when it comes to me. Just the same, Flourentine made an appearance at the house apologizing for his actions and requesting the honor of courting me. Of course he was denied, and went away like a wounded animal. Yes i am aware that the wounded ones are the most unpredictable, but i am fine."

She watched his expression and spoke once again. "As for my wish of kissing you again. I am confused by the way it made me feel. Yet i still wish to be in your arms once more."

As he listened he had to admit that she made a good point, he had indeed saved an innocent child. In fact early on in his newborn stages of learning to exist as a blood drinker he had made the decision to never harm a child. This choice had to have come from someone, some part of him that still remained human. He smiled, his eyes a swirling brown green forest as he stared at her, drinking in her voice, her beauty, her passion for his world.

He listened and his lips turned up slightly in a snarl as Kanya told him of Florentine’s visit, his rage tempered by hearing how he limped away rejected. His face softened and smiled as she told him of the kiss and her wish to be in his arms again. He stood up and took her hand lightly pulling her up. His hands slipped under her and suddenly she was in his arms as she had been the last time they met. He sat on the edge of the bed with her on his lap, his hands wrapped around her holding her.

“I apologise for my overzealous wrath, I seem to have only the capacity for base feelings; hunger, anger, want, need. But you Kanya, you are the except, you are the mystery that threatens to consume me. Every time you are involved I feel more, I am more than this creature created out of fear and hatred”

His hand travelled to the back of her neck and up into her hair, he savored her warmth.

“You are smart and fearless, strong and beautiful. I have never known a woman like you nor shall I ever again. Tell me Kanya, what questions do you have for me? After our last meeting you must have at least one you wish to ask.”

She gasped as he picked her up and placed her on his lap. She listened to all that he had to say. It touched her deeply that he thought he was created out of fear and hatred.

"You are more than that" she advised him softly looking into his eyes. "If you were just this creature you wouldn't be able to function in society and rise to the level that you have. You wouldn't have been the kings choice to come and court me to make me your wife if you didn't crave some form of human connection." sighing she brushed her hand along his face once again as his hand traveled from her neck to her hair.

"You are free Velten" she said softly. "Being what you are, you can do as you wish and no one can stop you. Yet here you sit with me." Being brazen she moved her mouth closer to his until her lips gently grazed his. This kiss turned deeper and she kissed him as he had kissed her. Her arms wrapping around his neck as she pressed against him.

Slowly breaking the kiss she blushed a little and smiled. "I have many questions for you. I think the one that has weighed most on my mind is if i hadn't been me, and just some girl that obeyed the Kings wishes and married you would you have turned me to be like you? or would you have left me human?"

Her eyes searched his for the answer before his lips moved. Sometimes he was easy to read but not on this one.

She talked about his freedom before she drew him in for a kiss, he sighed and drew her close his arms holding her tightly. He smiled as she drew back and blushed before she posed a very intriguing question, one he had not thought to ask. He mulled it over as he thought about meeting her, he had been so caught up in their new found companionship he had not thought about whether he would turn his bride to be into a creature like him.

“As much as I have been gifted with immortality, strength and speed. The way in which I was turned as I told you was…...less than desirable, I have heard of other transitions being much smoother.”

He held her close, his hand stroking her face.

“Because of this I have never wished this curse upon anyone, and so I am alone. Had you been a girl with little will power I do not think I could bring myself to turn you. For were I to turn someone they must know exactly the burden they bear; the loss of humanity and the understanding that you must kill to survive. I could never turn someone until they understood the price for living forever. So to answer you question no I would not. You, however, are the unique in so many ways Kanya. it would be interesting to share immortality with one such as you were you to desire it."

She tilted her head into the stroking of her face and listened to his answer to the question she asked. "you see" she said softly "a greedy soulless creature would wish to inflict the world of the pain that he felt. Especially on a less willful girl who would obey and serve you for the rest of time. Even if you yearned for a more willful one, there's nothing that could stop you from turning me as well. Yet you still would offer me a choice."

She smiled and kissed him softly before pulling away and continuing. "We have time for you discover what your feelings are about us." she said softly. "There will be no one else courting me, i can guarantee you." she let out a small giggle at the ponderousness of anyone wanting the outspoken crazy woman. "I won't be running from you, its important that you know that. I will always be here for you just as you are for me."

Her lips found his once again as she kissed him with a passion that she didn't know she possessed with in her. She wasn't sure what all of these feelings meant but she did know she didn't want to experience them with anyone but him.

"Now" she said breaking the kiss and looking at him mischievously. "Do you have any questions for me?"

The need with which she kissed him was slightly surprising, he had not expected her to be so passionate in her advances. He held her as tight as he could without breaking her as their lips lingered on one another. The kiss ended and a playful smile appeared on her face.

"Do you have any questions for me?"

A grin played across his lips as he answered.

“Why yes milady I do as it happens. Before I came here I was curious as to the nature of our agreement, beforehand it had been some sort of charade however…….”

He paused, and his thumb brushed against her lips

“I feel we are moving past theatrical showings of affection to more…….intimate acts. It is upon this thought that I must ask, are we now courting in truth? Has the charade ceased? For as you know I care about you…...as much as a creature of the night can….and you for me so much that you have assured me you will not abandon me when I have need for you. You have instilled a transformation in me Kanya, one that has ensured I will never stop watching over for as long as my existence allows.”
