Some guys might consider it odd, but they aren't guys that you need to care about. They won't be your lover anyway.

Most women will love the snuggliness, but if it's hard for you to get the sex going, you need to know that a lot of women have the same problem. Women are --still-- trained to wait for the guy to make the first move, so some communication is in order-- like "I want to, but I'm so nervous! Would you start?" Could work.
(My femme GF went on a date with another femme and told me that nothing happened. I told her that she should have brought me along to make the first moves for her!)
