I'd appreciate help/input on which is more correct in a sentence: "cum" or "come"; "pre-cum" or "pre-come".

My apologies to all if this has already been hashed & re-hashed ad nauseum.

Thanks, in advance, for your input &/or insight.

I don't think there is one right way, since I don't believe "cum" is actually in the dictionary. This is just my personal preference, and I know that many authors do it differently.

If it's used as a noun, as in "semen" or "seed", I use the word "cum". I should say "used to use it", because I actually don't like that word very much and try to avoid it now.

Using it as a verb, I use "come". I don't like the whole "I'm cumming!" deal. It tends to turn me off rather quickly. Again, just my personal preference though.

Thanks, Jen!! :rose:

At this point, I'm open to suggestions. I've only associated "cum" with skin rags & seen it in some (okay, a lot of) stories here. An author & I went round & round about it without resolving anything. I caved to their opinion just to move on to other things. Now, I've encountered the question again so decided to come to the experts for a final verdict.

I looked at Dictonary.com. CUM there appears to be synomimous with COME. None of the definitions given have anything to do with male ejaculate.

Most often in stories you will see CUM, however, I've seen COME too. The choice is yours.

It really depends on the type of story you want to write. If it's just a stroke story, "cum" seems perfectly appropriate. For a lot of the stuff I'm currently writing, it just doesn't seem to fit, so I chose not to use it. It depends on the tone you use in your stories as well.

Sooo... good luck, with whatever you decide to use :rose:

Personally, I never use "pre-cum".

There is no pre - it's all cum, yes?

There have been several discussions about this through the years. At one time this was the general consensus:

Come, came or coming is the orgasm action.

Cum is the fluid, the noun.

And you never, ever have the character say, "I'm cummminggggg!"

Ugh.

My personal favorite is "MAN BUTTER". I laugh everytime I see it :D

How about "BABY BATTER"?

I shudder at that one. It seems to be more of a Penthouse Letters sort of thing though it does show up here, too.

Best I've seen on Lit is, 'BOILING BLACK BABY BATTER'. Makes me want to cross my legs and wince.

I'm not a fan of cum or coming, even in the raunchiest of stroke stories. Pre-cum is an absolute stupidity because it stops you writing about 'that glistening pearl of clear fluid that she licked up hungrily'.

Women never 'cum/come' - they orgasm or climax, but the word 'come' has been for a long time a poor synonym for sperm, ejaculate or a thousand better terms.

No... Whenever I see any mention of pre-cum I take it as the clear, lubricating fluid that is emitted often long before orgasm or even at times the male is aroused but doesn't orgasm. This is a completely different fluid than what is ejaculated at orgasm, though some of the precum already emitted may mix with the semen at ejaculation.

That is correct. Pre-cum generally refers to pre-seminal fluid which is produced by the cowpers<sp?> gland. The purpose of which is to reduce the acidity of the urethra and provide lubrication.

If the guy does not urinate between ejaculations, pre-seminal fluid may contain viable sperm on the second go around.

As for writing about it, lately I've been looking for better ways to describe it than calling it pre-cum. As yet, I'm not totally satisfied with what I'm coming up with.

Wow! Who knew it was such a sticky subject! Sorry, couldn't resist the temptation. :D

Okay. Here's what I've deduced:

I'll drop the "pre"; make sure the ladies "climax"; put any butter - man, baby or otherwise - on ice; & make sure the guy urinates between rounds.

Did I miss anything?

I really appreciate y'all's input. This really helps a lot!

It's probably just me, but I like to use come as a verb, duh, and when some was says I'm gonna come, or come for me, that's what I use. But I use "cum" as a noun or the actual fluids. Same with the precum. Hey, that tastes sweeter to me than the cum itself. Anyhoo, it's fun, and it works for me! :)

ROFLMAO

Stop! You're killin' me here!! I'm so glad I came to the experts (?!?) & asked!!!!

Thanks again!!!!!
