If you're on the forums side and encounter someone whose writings you'd like to read, is there a quick and easy way to get there? It seems strange to have to go to lit’s homepage and then do an author search. But unless the member has posted that link manually, I've never found a way to “get there from here.”

Yes, I also find that very cumbersome to navigate. I think the powers that be should consider a way for the users to make those connections easily.

Well thanks. At least I guess I'm not missing something obvious.

Writers can add a direct link to their author page in their forum signature, and many do! But there's no automatic direct link...

The Lit forums and the Lit story site are two different database systems that is just set up to create parallel accounts when you first register😬

Yes. The unfortunate thing is that after all these years, nothing is done about it. It doesn't seem like a built-in link on everyone's profile would be difficult. A person could opt out of they chose to...

I'm pretty sure that if two parallel databases can be accessed with one input form that a crossover "switch" should not be an insurmountable issue. After all, it's 2025 in the software world not 1995.

I noticed that when I log into Literotica and then log into the forum. That login to the forum sends me back to the story side. Then I have to click back over to the forum on the drop down. Also, the letters in the drop down for forum change to all caps. So the forum is in the hierarcy of the story side. I don't think it stands on it's own. Now that's my logic. I'm not a computer person. But I think that most software is logic based. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm just the piano player.

I have to log in twice to get to the forum side, also. It hadn't occurred to me that they were part and parcel of the same thing.

Sometimes, this’ll help:

If you’re reading on your phone, pivot your phone to landscape view. Some authors have a link to their stories in their signature, hidden by default in portrait mode, visible by default in landscape.

Also , this’ll definitely help, here’s a link to member search. https://search.literotica.com/?type=member

I never use my phone to be on Lit. My fingers are too big for that keyboard. I use pc only.
I have asked a new member, who is a software developer from Ukraine, to read this thread and give the thread his thoughts. It may take a little time.

Yes, thank you. I've had a link to my writings in my own signature for years. And the search window is how I currently find authors’ writings. But both are workarounds for a design flaw and should be unnecessary.

Looks like Literotica library and forum are really different blocks in one big system. As well as Webcams or Store here. But most of you are right. Simple link in profile can solve this problem.

Thank you for your technical expertise in this matter. It's nice to have a Software Developer in a thread like this one.
I know you are new on Lit so welcome to the forum, I hope you have fun here. Thanks again.

I'm still dissatisfied with this solution. It puts the onus on the user rather than the site owners. Many users don't know enough to do this, or simply don't bother.

I'm no web designer, but, given how easy it is for the individual user to do it on their own page (if they know to do so) and how easy it is to do in any software I've ever worked in, wouldn't it be equally for the site owners to do it once, universally, and be done with it?
