Cross country road trip

Need cheap lodgings in maybe Montana, South Dakota, Michigan, Ohio...or states close by. Who’s up for hosting me?

We recently drove from TN to AZ without any problems. Very little contact at hotels or rest areas and just ate takeout so no looking for nice restaurants, etc. Can't imagine too many people willing to host strangers while this virus is running amok.

Are hostels still a thing...can I sleep in my car at truck stops?
