Crimes of Passion

No, just no.
exactly. that's where she should have left well alone. no matter how smart or funny, walking right away would have been the only option for me, personally, but only after letting others know he was also placing them in a law-breaking situation and advising the boy in question to stop or i'd have to let the authorities know.

Rob's True Confession:

I was home on leave from the Army. I was about 18 and a half years old...hadn't seen a woman in months. Went to a huge party with my younger brother, met a gorgeous blonde girl there, ended up getting a BJ in one of the back bedrooms.

Asked her if she wanted to go out with me to a club afterwards (drinking age was 18 at the time), she giggled and said no, she couldn't. She was only 16 (and had just turned 16 a couple of weeks before).

Oh.

Squick. Squick. Squick.

isn't there a caveat for "it's ok if only 2 years older than minor"?

that'd have been legal here. there isn't a huge difference in mental age between a 16 y/o girl and an 18 y/o boy, which is primarily the issue when it comes to matters of exploitation.

Rolling Stone magazine had an article on Ted Nugent a few months back, when he was on tour from 75-79 (at ages 25-29) he deflowered literally dozens of 12 to 15 year olds. The sad thing was he had an enormous support system to promote his pedastry, and nobody ever tried to stop him.

that's disgusting. more reasons to think ted nugent is a piece of crap. but the people who enabled him are just as bad.

fucking hollywood roman polanski loving fuckheads.

My ex-husband and I are exactly to-the-day 24 months apart. The law then in Minnesota was if one person was over 18 the younger couldn't be more than 2 years younger or it was statutory. We stupidly got caught in a park by Officer Friendly and the only reason he wasn't hauled off to jail was because I grabbed my wallet before we went out that night. Without proper ID they assume you're lying and arrest the older of the two until it's proven.

yep...

and these are the kind of people who walk all over the pedophilia laws.

wait - so if someone was 23 and the other 20 it still would've been illegal?

I remember they just enacted a Romeo And Juliett law in Georgia, but I had to look it up. Black guy was 17 and videotaped a BJ from a white 15 year old girl: 10 years hard time.

Under 16 girl was a felony for years for any age. 16-17 year old girl with an adult was a legal maze, they can marry but not fuck or something like that.

Now the rule is if a guy has consensual sex with a 15-17 year old girl and is 18 or 19, it's still a crime but a misdemeanor, not a felony.

....unless the guy is black and the girl is white, in which case it's a hangin' offense...

No, when one partner is under 18. So at 17 I couldn't legally have sex with a 20 year old.
oh, you said this, which i why i got all wtf?
that makes more sense. phew, it's confusing some of this stuff.

see what i mean?

with any law, the weighing of it has to be judicious.

This came to light when nutcase Courtney Love went on Howard Stern and talked about losing her virginity to Ted Nugent after a concert. Stern figured out she was 12 at the time. Rolling Stone magazine wanted to show what a serial liar Love was, but found out it was completely true.

Nugent was anti-drugs back then (still is), and conservative parents felt safe letting their pubescent daughters go to his after-concert parties, because they knew their precious snowflakes wouldn't be exposed to drugs. They knew this rock star in his late 20s couldn't possibly have any sexual interest in their daughters. Just good clean fun.

according to wiki, he's strong conservative, pro hunting and extremely vociferous re gun ownership.

says it all, really.

One time I pinched a girl's butt when she was past out. But she barfed on my shoes, so I think we're all even.

For the record I've never had sex with anyone under 18. I didn't even have sex till I was 19.

lol

*larfs*

i knew a girl once who bragged about having sex in a skip

a skip!

i had absolutely nothing to say to her ever again. all conversation had dried off at root level.

in a freakin' skip! :eek::eek::eek:

Wait. What's a skip?

THIS:
No one misinterpreted. You did not misspeak.

By your own account, "messing around" or not, you abused a child. Own it or get used to others reminding you of it. You are not special. You are a garden-variety predator. Spelling your defenses and/or deflections well, bears no correlation to the possibility that your behavior might have been vile and even criminal. "I was doing it to help him" and "he was older than his age" is not exactly an original set of rationalizations for pathological behavior.

Also, I'm curious about this answer:

You remember so much about him and that time: the details of his age, your meeting, the subjects of your conversations, the games you played, when and to whom he lost his virginity. You know the ages of the other five people you were "messing around" with. You remember all that with great detail.

You also know the ages at which you were married and divorced. You know your children's ages. You know where you were living and what you were doing when you were "messing around" with him--which, by your account, took place over the course of several years. You know when he went to college, presuming the cheerleading story is true. You speak of him and your predatory "relationship" as if it was quite special to you.

And yet, you can't quite put your finger on what time frame you were talking to him? This seems odd. You don't remember if you were married and cheating? Or if you had no babies or one or even two? You don't remember if you had to make an excuse to a husband to go meet the 16-year-old and "fool around" on the front seat of his car?

Unlikely. I'm guessing you know exactly when it was, and have a reason for pretending you're fuzzy about it.

It's bad enough you assume that spelling well makes you special. I hope you don't also assume that you spelling well makes everyone else dumb.

Some states do have different rules. Courtney had her fame-whore mother's consent.

14 and presumably 29 is not okay. I don't think it's okay even in Arkansas any more.

But the crux of the matter is--we crucify guys who come on here talking about such matters but it's okay to just brush it aside when it's an older woman/younger man? The age of consent on Lit is 18, frankly I'm surprised this original post still exists.

i don't think it was either, and like i said earlier i don't think she's a predator. i think she was messed up (in a cult at the time or something?) and she didn't make a good decision.

at the end of the day he was 14, a kid, and whether or not you think you're actually damaging someone, you have the responsibility as an adult not to take that risk when you're fucking around with a child. i think she failed in that responsibility, she didn't set out to harm him but she should have known better.

my primary outrage was in her now laughing it off and claiming she actually rehabilitated him.
