Lexi Barnhart
Age: 20

"Barnhart Builders Inc." Lexi smoothed the hem of her dads company shirt down and stepped from her 2013 GMC Sierra. Her sneakers crunched the gravel of the parking lot as she walked into the cool air conditioned office where her father sat on the phone.

What a way to spend her summer. Earning extra money by working for her dad as a soft of secretary. He was a disorganized man so she had promised to get him back to par before summer was over.

She leaned against a wall, crossing her legs at the ankle, and waited. She plucked a piece of dirt from her denim shorts and glanced back to her dad who was winding up the call.

"Hey Lexi Bug" her father greeted her, making her blush at the nickname. "I wanna introduce you to the couple of guys who are almost always around."

He walked with her out of the air conditioned office and through a side door to the huge garage set up to work on any of the many vehicles her dad owned, trucks, tractors, equipment.

"This here" her dad said patting an old man on the back, "is George. He's one of my foremen. And that's Frank, Bill and Thomas". He pointed to each man seperately. Then he glanced around.

"And my mechanic should be around here somewhere..." He wandered off looking for the missing mechanic. Lexi looked around and then followed. She knew the place pretty well from growing up around it, but with being in college all year she hasn't been there in months.

She followed along after her father, while he looked for the mechanic.

Ethan had just taken the air charge hose off of the throttle body, beginning his quset to find the reason this truck was missing. He had hooked up the verdict and found a P0304code telling him that number four cylinder was missing, The NOID light had shown that the injector was firing and from what he could see through a current ramp test, the primary side of the coil was saturating normally. That was thing thing about the newer vehicles, coil near plug technology had been great, except it was more difficult to check the secondary side of the ignition.

All the equipment in the world would only get you so far, even on today's vehicles. Experience, intuition, and a true understanding of current flow, were the best tools a mechanic could have, and the hardest to get. At thity years old, Ethan had been around the block a good bit and had become quite an accomplished technician. He had built a good reputation throughout the county and his phone would often ring with questions from guys that he knew, and even some that he didn't, asking for advice and help.

He stood back and lit a cigarette as he thought about his next move. He guessed that a compression test was in order since he had seen this a couple of times with six liter engines. The intake springs would break and give you a complete loss of compression in that cylinder. It wasn't a hard job, but it could get tricky. If the valve had contacted the piston at any time, the slightest of impacts would bend the stem and prevent it from sealing to the seat in the head. If that happened, when you removed the spring keepers, the valve would fall and you had to remove the enitire cylinder head.

He took a look around his bay as he drew the smoke into his lungs. He had been here just under a year and had taken the job as a favor to his father. He and the owner had been high school buddies and after Ethan's wife had passed, his dad suggested a change of scenery would be good for him. That was the thing about being a grease monkey, at the end of the day, the scenery never really changed. There was always dirt, and grease and grime on everything, and a list of things that always needed looked at.

Ethan felt fortunate though, he had his own bay, with his own lift. He had plenty of room for his massive Snap-on box, and they didn't care that he smoked. He was good, and they knew it, and within a few months, the owner had come to rely on him to keep the fleet running.

He heard footsteps coming his way so he crushed out his smoke and grabbed a ratchet, extension and spark plug socket. No need to let the boss man seeing him slacking, if only for a minute.

"Ah! Ethan, there you are! Hard at work already I see?" Her father boomed.

Lexi glanced up, startled from her daydreaming by her fathers loud voice. She looked around and spotted who appeared to be Ethan, the company mechanic. Instinctually she ran a hand over her denim jeans. They were her favorite ones, clinging to her ass and toned legs like a second skin, yet soft and well worn.

She looked over the man named Ethan. He was sexy, in a masculine sort of way- with grease already on his hands and up his arms. She subtly inhaled the scent of a mechanic shop... She had always loved the smells for some reason. The grease, the oil, gas, metal... It all smelled good to her.

"Ethan, this is my daughter, Lexi. She's gonna be helping out in the office for the summer. Lexi, this is Ethan". Her father made the introductions.

Lexi flashed Ethan her perfectly straight white teeth in a stunning mile that she had perfected by the time she was 6 months old her dad said. She was a charming girl but also genuinely nice and sweet.

"Hi, Ethan. It's nice to meet you" she said holding her hand out for a handshake.

"Ah! Ethan, there you are! Hard at work already I see?" he heard Roger Barnhart bellow as he entered Ethan's bay.

"Yes sir, Mr. Barnhart, she ain't gonna fix herself." he replied not looking up from his work.

"Ethan, this is my daughter, Lexi. She's gonna be helping out in the office for the summer. Lexi, this is Ethan". he continued pointing to the petite brunette standing to hie left.

Ethan looked up for a moment, then continued trying to ease the spark plug boot of without tearing it.

"Hi, Ethan. It's nice to meet you" he heard her say sweetly.

He could envision the million dollar smile that would accompany the voice, but pushed his thoughts back to the task at hand as the boot started to give way, but then tore in half.

"Motherfucker!" he shouted, his head shooting up to see the two standing there, her with her hand stuck out to greet him.

"Sorry about that...uhm...nice to meet you to." he stepped down from his stool and wiped his hand on his pants before sticking the still greasy paw out to take hers.

Lexi couldn't help but smirk when Ethan cussed so loudly about something going wrong on what he was working on. She didn't hesitate to shake his hand when he offered an apology. She was hyper-aware of where their bodies touched when they shook hands, and mentally scolded herself. She wondered briefly how old he was... Not that her father would ever stand for any sort of flirting between the two ... But he was an attractive man.

"Ethan, I have to go out to a few sites. I expect you to answer any questions Lexi may have to the best of your abilities since you two will be the only ones on property today" her father was saying.

Lexi chimed in. "Daddy, Ethan looks like a busy man. I'm sure I will be quite ok". She fiddled with the thin glasses resting on her nose, wishing she had worn contacts instead.

Her father nodded brusquely. "Right. Well. Lexi, get to it. Ethan, take care of my girl".

With that he turned and walked off leaving Lexi and Ethan alone.

"I'm sure I will be fine" Lexi said softly. "Have you worked here long?" She said, making conversation, unaware of how busy Ethan probably was with equipment.

"Have you worked here long?" Ethan heard her ask as he turned and went back to his work.

"Almost a year." he said shortly. She had been cute. Ethan had always loved long brown hair, and the thin wire rimmed glasses completed the look along with her perfect smile. He had only glanced at her form, but couldn't help but notice nicely she had filled out her work shirt.

It had been two years since his wife had been taken from him in an automobile accident. Lexi had reminded him of her, with her look and cheeriness, and he hated that. The memories were still too fresh and painful, and he could feel the beginnings of tears at the corners of his eyes, as the memory of her face flashed into his mind.

He could still sense her presence and even though she had seemed friendly enough, is was bad form to stand around bullshitting with the boss's daughter.

"Is there something else I can do for you? I've kinda got a lot of shit...uhm...work to do." he said looking up from the spark plug in his hands.

Lexi was taken aback by the brusqueness in his voice when he spoke to her. Her smile instantly faded into a small frown.

"No I don't need anything. I guess I'll leave you to your all important work" she said smartly. With that she turned on the feel of her worn in cowgirl boots and walked out of the room. Anger at how rude Ethan had been boiled in her blood.

Pushing that away, she sat down and began to focus on the numbers in her fathers account book. One job for her was to figure out where they could cut costs for the business without compromising quality. Turning she began to do some research.

****

One Week Later

The bell above the office door rang and a felicity man walked in hauling a huge cartload of boxes. Lexi hopped up from behind the desk and signed for the delivery. She then sorted the boxes into office supplies, workshop supplies and construction supplies. She then turned an walked to the workshop where Ethan was working.

There had been an unexplained tension between the two since the first day and Lexi couldn't begin to guess why. It bothered her but she didn't let it get to her too much.

"You have a delivery up in the office. It's too much for me to carry" she told Ethan, raising her voice over the sound of the radio he had playing in the background.

With that she walked back to the office and sat back down to go over more paperwork her father had piled on the desk. Sighing at her fathers dismal office skills she leaned back in the chair and ran a hand through her long hair, just as she heard footsteps echoing down the hall from the shop to the office.

For the next week after their meeting, the tension Ethan felt between him and Lexi increased. it wasn't that he didn't like her, he hadn't taken the time to get to know her. She was cute, and had a killer body, but being the boss' daughter made her plutonium, and to be avoided.

He would concentrate on his work, the reason he was there and try his best not to stare at the sexy sway of her hips as she would stomp back to her office after one of their exchanges. He liked that she was smart, and tenacious. She would never back down no matter how rude or dismissive he was, and although he would never admit it, he admired that about her.

He was replacing the throttle body on Unit 17 when he heard the familiar click of her boots on the concrete floor leading to his bay.

"You have a delivery up in the office. It's too much for me to carry" she shouted loud enough for the whole town to hear before turning and stomping back to her office.

With a sigh, he laid the piece on the radiator support and trudged down the hallway toward the office. He turned the corner to where the lobby was and stopped dead in his tracks. There was a stack of cardboard boxes adorned with the bright red letters W-U-R-T-H.

"What the fuck is this shit! Lexi, call those cocksuckers down the road and tell them they sent the wrong shit! They were supposed to send CRC, this shit doesn't clean anything!"

He turned and glared at her as she ran her fingers through her long brown mane.

Lexi jumped at first at the shouted words from Ethan. Then her eyes narrowed at his words. She stood up slowly and crossed her arms across her chest. She leaned a hip against the cool metal of the desk.

"They didn't send the wrong shit" she said matter of factly. "I ordered that. My dad instructed me to cut costs wherever I saw fit. I did the research as this seemed a good way to cut some costs. This brand is a hell of a lot cheaper than the other brand you were using."

She could practically see the steam billowing from his head as he fumed over the news. Standing up to her full -if still somewhat unimpressive- height, she squared off with the fuming man before her.

"I have a job to do just as you do here. Sure I work for my father, but I work just like you do. Get mad and cuss. I don't give a damn. This is what you're getting from now on so deal with it."

She only came up to Ethan's chest when standing straight up but she didn't let that intimidate her. Instead she stood there, staring him square in the eyes, practically daring him to say something back... Which she had a feeling he would.

"You did research! You found it was cheaper! Jesus H. Christ! Did any of your research include reading the reviews from guys who actually use the shit!"

Ethan was pissed. Who the fuck was she to change the way things were around here?

"Cheaper huh! Well, you will be singin another goddamned tune when we have to use twice as much to clean everything! This shit is non-chlorinated and wouldn't take the goddamned letters of a dry erase board!"

She was standing right in front of him as he thundered away. In truth, he hated this shit, but it could be easily sent back. For the most part, he just hated change. He had things set up the way he liked them and here she came fuckin it all up.

"What, did some asshole come in here and flash his baby blues and tell that this shit was better for the environment and smelled like unicorn farts and dandelions? Anything, Gumout, 2+2, anything would be better than this shit. I was using CRC to clean shit when you were still shittin yellow, I want it back!"

He stood there, chest heaving, towering over her and boring into her with his stare.

"You think a handsome face is all it takes to sway me?" Lexi laughed without humor. "Trust me when I say I know for a fact that a handsome face is nothing to trust. I know that on all levels. You have a handsome face but you don't see me tripping over myself to please you. Because I know underneath those good looks you're about as nice as a bobcat with a thorn in his fucking paw.- I did my research. If you have a problem with my decision then go over my head to my father. I don't give a fuck."

She stared back at him, her green eyes flashing with rage and temper behind the glasses she wore.

" You've been nothing but fucking rude to me from day one. What the fuck is your deal?!" She shook her head.

"You know what? Never mind. I really don't care if you like me. It's not your job to like me or my job to care."

She stepped away from the pissed off man in front of her.

"Like I said. You have a problem? Take it up with my dad! I don't have time to listen to your whining."

For a moment he just stood there staring at her. He couldn't believe the words that had come from her thin cherry lips. It wasn't the words, he could care less, it was the way she said them. She didn't back down, or cry, or any of the silly shit that usually happens when a confrontation occurs between men and women. She had stood her ground and made her case, and Ethan respected that.

He was still pissed, but the anger of a minute ago was starting to subside, and he realised that no matter how wrong she was, she was the owner's daughter. That, coupled with the fact that she had said he was handsome, took the wind out of his sails and he was no longer in the mood to fight.

"Whatever! You fuckin call the plays, and I'll run them chief!" he spat as he grabbed three of the stacked boxes and headed back to his bay.

As he stacked them on the metal shelving along the back wall, he kept remeberiing that fire in her beautiful green eyes. She was tough, and spunky, not afraid to stand up for herself. Right or wrong, he admired that, and a small part of him even found it attractive. Add that to her killer body, perfect smile and charming smile, he knew deep down that this job just got a lot harder.

He knew that he was wrong to fly off like that. It wasn't his job to run the shop, he was just supposed to maintain and repair the fleet to the best of his abilities. Her father had put her in charge, and she deserved to be treated with respect, regardless of how he felt about her "research". He knew what he had to do, so he drew a deep breath, shrugged his shoulders and headed back for the rest of the panther piss from Wurth.

"Lexi..." he said softly, poking his head into her office. "I shouldn't have taken that tone with you, and I apologize. You do whatever you feel is right, and I'll go along with it. It's not my place to say what you do with your dad's money. I'm sorry."

With that, he grabbed the last of the boxes and made his way back to his bay.

Lexi watched as Ethan stormed off with several boxes in his arms. Once he was gone, she sank down into the office chair, dismayed to see her hand trembling a bit. She wasn't one to back down from a confrontation, but damn, going head to head with Ethan was like facing down a charging bull.

She ran the shaky hand through her hair and was just turning back to her computer when she heard her name. Surprised, she turned to face Ethan. It was the first time he had called her by her name and for some reason when he said it she got goosebumps.

He apologized.

She sat there blinking in astonishment.

Ethan had just apologized to her... It was incomprehensible. She watched as he went back to his shop with the boxes of cleaner. She wasn't sure what to say to him after that apology. She was positive it had went against every grain on his body to apologize to her and she was sort of speechless.

Maybe there was hope for him after all...

Sighing, she turned back to her computer and began working again.

**2 Hours Later**

Lexi walked into the shop with a bottle of soda in her hand. She glanced around and noted the unopened boxes of cleaner by the wall.

"Ethan?" She called out softly. When he poked his head out of beneath the vehicle he was working on she gave him a very small smile.

"I, uh, brought you a soda" she said softly. "And I wanted to tell you to not open those boxes. They're getting picked up in a couple of hours and the brand you used to use will be delivered by 9 tomorrow morning. I'm sorry. I didn't realize it would be such a big deal..."

She trailed off and shrugged, holding the soda out for him. She had apologized. She didn't know what else to say to the growling man before her. She studied him quietly for a moment.

"Why do you dislike me so much?" She asked quietly.

After telling Lexi he was sorry, Ethan palced the cleaner neatly on the shelf and decided to get back to work. He felt terrible; not only for yelling at her, but for being such a whiney prick about it. It was fucking brake cleaner for God's sake! He felt that it would better if he just avoided her as much as possible and just concentrate on the work.

He pulled in one of the service trucks that had a problem with the four wheel drive and grabbed his creeper to slide under it. He had always been able to lose himself in diagnostics. Whatever problem was in front of him became a puzzle that he could get completely lost in, and block everything else going on around him out. He checked the shift motor, testing each circuit one at a time, finding each one working as it should. That meant that the problem was most likely internal and the transfer case would have to come out.

In a couple of hours he had the transfer case unbolted, the drive shaft out and had slid the trans jack underneath it. It was a New Process aluminum case, and wasn't overly heavy, but being by himself he thought safety would be prudent. He had just began to shake it loose from the transmission when he heard clicking footsteps enter his bay.

"Ethan?" he heard her say. He froze for a moment before sliding out from under the truck to look at her. "I, uh, brought you a soda..."

He could see the bottle in her hand. He had been going at it pretty hard for a good while and the thought of a cold drink and a smoke sounded very appealing. He slid the rest of the way out and got up.

"...and I wanted to tell you to not open those boxes. They're getting picked up in a couple of hours and the brand you used to use will be delivered by 9 tomorrow morning. I'm sorry. I didn't realize it would be such a big deal..."

For a moment they just looked at each other when softly continued, "Why do you dislike me so much?"

He was surprised. Her question was so out of the blue that for a few minutes he didn't know how to respond.

"I don't dislike you...not at all. I just...I'm not very good with change."

He walked over to his tool box and grabbed his pack of Winstons, and was about to fire it up when he stopped. He was out of his comfort zone and wasn't sure how to react. He laid the cigarette down and looked right into her beautifeul emerald eyes.

"For a long time, I have pretty much worked on my own. Even before I came here, I never really had to answer to anyone. My bosses all trusted me to know what I was doing and they left me too it."

He stepped toward her and took the bottle from her hand.

"I don't have a problem with you Lexi, in fact, I feel quite the opposite. You seem strong and tough. You have an opinion and you stick by it. I respect that."

He was ay outside of his comfort zone now. Trying to find a way to put his words together, he opened the soda and took a long pull.

"I am just old and set in my ways. Be patient, and I will come around. Oh...and thanks for the soda." he said with a slight smile.

Lexi eyed Ethan up cautiously. He was being nice and it was a big difference... A welcome one. But still a big change. She watched as he seemed to want to light up a cigarette but didn't. He seemed almost nervous or uneasy around her.

He was close, so close to her. And when he smiled, even a small one like that, he was one of the most attractive men she had ever met... It was all a little unnerving and Lexi had to take a step back in order to focus on what he was saying.

"You're not that old", she said with a smile after he was done talking. "And I sorry I tried to change things. A man's garage is his sanctuary and I overstepped my boundaries by trying to mess it up... My bad" she shrugged.

"Look at the bright side... Three months and ill be back to school and the annoying boss's daughter won't be around anymore". She grinned and turned to walk out, her hands in the back pocket of her jeans, drawing emphasis to her tight, round ass. She paused for a moment by the door, thinking.

Her father was harassing her a lot to find a way to cut costs. People might think working for family was a cake walk but sometimes it wasn't. Her dad rode her harder than almost any employee, thinking she should work harder just out of obligation and it caused a lot of stress in her life.

She turned, and leaned back against the wall.

"Hey Ethan?" She called out just as he was about to lay back down on his creeper. "I know you're busy and everything... But my dads been riding my ass pretty hard about budget cuts. If you could think of anything in the shop that could be cut down in costs, can you let me know? I'd really appreciate it".

She hoped he wouldn't get irritate with her for asking but she was at a loss about then and was hoping he could help her out.

"It's fine Lexi." with a hint of regret in his voice. "Really, it's no big deal, maybe it will be good for me to have someone watching out for this place's interest. It's my livelyhood too."

"Look at the bright side... Three months and ill be back to school and the annoying boss's daughter won't be around anymore."

He started to say that he didn't necessarily look forward to her leaving, but thought better of it. They had kind of made peace and he thought that some things were better left unsaid, especially in the workplace. He watched as she turned to go, and feeling that the moment had passed he lay back down on the creeper to finish the job he had started.

"Hey Ethan?" she said as he was about to slide under. "I know you're busy and everything... But my dad's been riding my ass pretty hard about budget cuts. If you could think of anything in the shop that could help cut down in costs, can you let me know? I'd really appreciate it".

He looked at her standing, leaning there against the door frame, nervously chewing on her bottom lip. The strong, firey girl from a few hours ago, now looked vulnerable and nervous...beautiful. Ethan rose to his feet and crossed the floor to stand in front of her.

"Follow me." he said matter of factly as he brushed past her and led her to a large room just off the back of the garage. There were aisles and aisles of shelves stacked with parts. Some were old, and some looked used, but there were three or four of each laying neatly and organized. he led her to the back of the room and inbetween two shelving units. One was fastened to the back wall, and the other set out to for a corridor of sorts. The parts laying here, were covered in a thick coating of dust and dirt. It looked as though no one had been back here in years.

"You see all this? These are parts that fit vehicles that we don't even have in the fleet. Whoever was here before me, must have just ordered a fuckload of shit, just to have it in case they needed it."

He picked up a six inch rectangular box, and blew the dust off of it coughing as it filled the air.

"Most of this stuff is brand new. If you could send it back to our vendors for credit, or trade it for stuff that we do need, you wouldn't have to spend money on it. This whole row is shit that I will never use, it's just wasted money, sitting here. I bet your dad would notice that."

Lexi looked over the shelves and shelves of apparently unneeded parts for vehicles. "All of this...?" She asked incredulously. A ladder stood near the shelves and she climbed it, her ass swaying tantalizingly in front of Ethan's face. Unaware of the view he was getting, Lexi leaned forward and dug through all of the parts.

"There's gotta be thousands of dollars worth of parts here!" She exclaimed.

She dug through some more, unaware of the dust she was getting on her chest. She also got some on her cheek and nose. She eventually climbed back down, and faced Ethan, wiping her dusty hands on her ass, leaving prints streaked there.

"This is awesome!" She said and shook her head. "Stupid to have this all sitting here... But awesome for me".

She smiled broadly at him. "You rock, Ethan!" She hesitated for a moment. "I don't want to get rid of something I shouldn't. Is there anything you can do to help me so I don't? Give me a list or something? I don't wanna ask you to stay here late and help me inventory but something...?"

She hesitated. "I'd be forever in your debt" she said softly, her eyes wide and pleading. "You have no idea how much dads been riding my ass..."

"All of this...?" she said in amazement.

As if forgetting he was there, she brushed past Ethan to grab a ladder that was sitting n a corner at the end of the row. She brought it back placing it in front of the shelf they had been looking at before climbing up. The rows were fairly narrow, so he pressed his back against the wall shelves to give her room to climb up. She reached the top of the shelves and started making remarks about all of the money that all of this stuff could be worth.

Ethan, barely heard any of it. She had climbed just to the perfect height to afford him a first row view of her perfect ass. When she bent over to get a better look at more of the stuff laying there, she inadvertently all but shoved it in his face. He was mesmerized. He had always been an ass man, and Lexi had one that was more than worthy of appreciation.

His view was cut short much to his chagrin as she descended the ladder brimming with excitement.

"This is awesome! Stupid to have this all sitting here... But awesome for me." She said smiling from ear to ear. "You rock, Ethan!"

Ethan found himself returning her smile and feeling good that she liked his idea. She looked terrific even covered in dust. Her emerald eyes sparkled and her perfect smile made her whole face light up. She wasn't just attractive, she was beautiful.

"I don't want to get rid of something I shouldn't. Is there anything you can do to help me so I don't? Give me a list or something? I don't wanna ask you to stay here late and help me inventory but something...? I'd be forever in your debt"

He noticed her smile fade a bit, like there was something troubling her, beyond the tension that had been present between them.

"You have no idea how much dads been riding my ass..." she finished with a note of sadness and desperation.

She was looking at him in a way that said that there was more going on between her and her dad, that he had never guessed. He had never given any consideration to what it must be like to be the child of a business owner. He knew that Roger loved her, but maybe he also had high expectations of her. Maybe he had always underestimated her potential and was pressuring her to show him something to make him proud.

"If you want to do an inventory, I can help you with that. It would give me a chance to find out exactly what all is in here and may save some time waiting on parts. Besides, if I leave you in here by yourself, the dust bunnies may carry you away."

He chuckled a bit and lifted a hand, brushing the dust off of her cheek gently.

Relief flooded through Lexi when Ethan said he would help. And she felt even better that he said it would help him out too. She saw the look of concern cross his face when she mentioned her dad but decided to ignore it. She and her dad had a rocky relationship but that was a story for another day.

Then he brushed his hand across her cheek and the atmosphere changed completely. Electricity seemed to pulse throughout the room and she felt it from her head to her toes. Her eyes darted up to his, startled by the reaction her body had to him, and she took a step backwards.

"Um, that would be great" she said, pasting another smile upon her face. "We can do it after hours one night- and I do payroll so don't worry. You'll get OT". She smiled genuinely this time.

"I really appreciate this Ethan."

She took a few more steps back.

"I guess I need to get bak to the office. I probably have ten phone calls to return by now... Is tonight ok?"

She turned and headed back to the office, her hips swaying enticingly without her even noticing. Once there she sank into the chair and sighed.

She had a crush on the mechanic at her dads company. The mechanic who half the time was hateful and growly towards her. That was just spectacular. With a groan she let her head thunk down on the desk.

"Fan-fucking-tasting" she murmured.

Lexi had recoiled a bit at his touch, taking a step back and opening up the gap between them. Her smile seemed to be somewhat strained, but she didn't look angry of afraid. It looked a little more like she was flustered.

She thanked him whole heartedly even offering to pay him overtime for the time he spent helping her. After had had agreed with a nod that tonight would be fine, she made a somewhat hasty retreat to her office. Ethan stood there for a moment, thinking about what had just happened. A smile spread across his face as he thought about the way her cheeks had become slightly red and how she seemed so uncomfortable all of a sudden. If he didn't know better, he would have thought that she was into him. He liked that thought, but dismissed it almost immediately, after all what could possibly see in him?

At any rate it was a nice thought even if it was ridiculous. It had been a long time since anyone had show an interest in him. It wasn't that he thought he was a bad looking guy, it's just that he never went out and tried to meet anyone. After his Julia had passed, he just focused on work. He had missed her so terribly, but solving his puzzles allowed him escape for the pain of missing her. After a while, he didn't have anything left but his work. Ethan, dismissed the thought of him and Lexi ever being more than coworkers, but the dynamics of their relationship had definitely changed, and he liked it.

It was still three hours until his normal work day was over, so he decided to get that transfer case out and then coast until it was time to start the inventory. It could turn out to be a bit of a long evening and he wanted to have something left to help him make it through.

He laid the transfer case on his bench then went to the sink to wash his hands. His work shirt was trashed, so he decided to change into his t-shirt for the rest of the evening.

Lexi finally got back to work after a few moments of self loathing. Of all the people to be attracted to it had to be him?! After a few hours of work she found she had a piece of paperwork that needed Ethan's signature.

She got up from behind the desk and headed back out to the shop. She was reading the form, looking down when she walked in.

"Hey Ethan, I need you to-" she looked up a saw him standing there shirtless. Oh dear god, she thought to herself, not only was he gorgeous but he had tattoos. For some reason tattoos were her weakness.

He had one tattoo on his bicep of some kind of mechanical stuff, and the words "Montani Semper Liberi" scripted across his back. She didn't know what that meant but it was enough to cause her body temperature to spike.

Unaware of what she was doing she used to papers to fan herself. "Uh, I need you to sign these. They're forms that should have been signed a year ago but... Uh... My dad stinks at that".

Her eyes couldn't help but travel over his naked back, torso and abdomen as he pulled a tshirt on. She was disappointed for the view to disappear. She finally forced herself to look into his eyes and blushed at the look he gave her. Did he know she had been checking him out??

She shoved the papers towards him, careful to avoid touching him lest she make herself more flustered.

"Sign these" she said softly, avoiding eye contact with him.

Once he signed the papers she looked up at him. "I'll be done in like a half hour if you are ready to start then?"

She ache to move forward and touch him somehow- in any way.

Geez how desperate was she?! It was pathetic. Not only was he her fathers employee but he was like ten years older than her. It was an impossible situation and she was stupid for even wanting it... Besides he didn't even think that way of her at all. She was sure of it. Well... Almost sure of it.

Ethan hadn't heard her approach his bay. Usually the clicking of her boots let him know that she was coming, but he was preoccupied with thoughts of how she had reacted to his touch.

"Hey Ethan, I need you to-" she started, then stopped mid-sentence.

he turned to see her standing in the doorway...staring. At least he thought she was staring. He looked down at his arm and saw that she had a clear view of the Gearhead tattoo on his bicep. He had gotten it right after graduation, along with some of his buddies from trade school. He then remembered the one across his shoulders, that he had gotten on a whim for his twenty first birthday. his wife had never really cared for them, so he had gotten out of the habit of showing them. After a while, he hadn't even given them a thought. Now, here he stood, naked from the waist up, in front of the owner's college aged daughter. He was about to apologize when she seemed to snap out of her shock and continue her thought.

"Uh, I need you to sign these. They're forms that should have been signed a year ago but... Uh... My dad stinks at that".

Ethan grabbed his t-shirt and pulled it on as she crossed to him and handed the papers up for him to sign.

"Sign these" she said barely above a whisper as he took the purchase orders from her, and then laid them on his toolbox to sign.

After he handed them back to her she said, "I'll be done in like a half hour if you are ready to start then?"

"Sure thing." he said as she started back towards the door and back to her office. He couldn't help but watch the way her hips swayed seductively from side to side. He had felt a little guilty about it earlier, but he had been sure that she had been checking him out while his shirt was off.

Ethan was proud of the way he looked. He wasn't cut or ripped, and didn't have muscle for days, but he was in pretty good shape. He took care of himself and worked hard and even though he didn't give a lot of thought to working out, his job had always kept him pretty trim.

She was almost through the door when Ethan had an idea.

"Hey Lexi..." he called to her. "...how about I order some pizza? it's been a while since lunch and we could use a little energy to go through that stuff. My treat."

Lexi took the signed papers and headed back towards the office. As she was walking away, she heard him yell her name. Turning, he asked if she wanted pizza. She smiled at him. "Meat lovers" she yelled back before turning back towards the office.

She hurried through her paperwork, finishing right at quitting time.

After straightening up her desk and turning the answering machine on she headed towards the shop. All she could think about was Ethan with his shirt off and how goo he had looked. Those tattoos... They made her want to drop her panties and ask him to take her.

Shaking her head she laughed at herself. When had she become such a wanton hussy?

The day she met Ethan, that's when.

She walked into his bay and glanced around. Not seeing him, she called out his name as she leaned against a toolbox, getting a smudge of grease on the hip of her jeans. She tried to rub it off even though she knew it wouldn't come out until they were washed.

Ethan came walking over then, looking relaxed and sexy in the worn tshirt he had on but all she wanted was to see him shirtless again. She pushed the thought away and smiled nervously.

"Ready to get down and dirty?" Immediately she realized what she had said and backtracked. "Oh!! I mean uh... The parts and the uh... Dust. And well yeah... THAT kind of dirty not...."

She blushed shook her head.

"I'm an idiot" she said before laughing at herself softly. "Don't mind me its been a long day... Dad has been crazy today... But anyway, let's get to it!"

Ethan was returning form the restroom, when he saw Lexi rubbing at her hip with a shop rag. As he got closer, he noticed the grease smudge standing out against the faded blue of her jeans. She saw him approach and dropped the rag on the bench.

"Ready to get down and dirty?...Oh!! I mean uh... The parts and the uh... Dust. And well yeah... THAT kind of dirty not...."

She was stumbling and fumbling with what she was tying to say. Ethan found it endearing that she was like this around him now. He knew that she could be tough, and strong willed, and he loved that about her; however, it was nice to see this awkward and shy side as well.

"I'm an idiot" she said with cheeks as red as Ethan's toolbox. "Don't mind me its been a long day... Dad has been crazy today... But anyway, let's get to it!"

He wanted to put her at ease around him, but there was a small part of him that wanted to prolong this just a little longer.

"Well, before we start, let's eat. the pizza should be here any minute, but in the meantime..."

He walked over to the sink and squirted some heavy duty hand soap on the tip of his finger. He walked back over to her picking up a clean rag as he went. He stopped right in front and knelt down on one knee with his head just inches from her stomach. Gently he placed his hands on her hips and turned her around so that her back was to him. He swore he could feel her shaking as he glided his hands across her hips and then away from her.

"...the hand soap we use is made to break down grease. Put a little on here and then rub it off with a rag and when it dries, the stain will be gone."

The spot was just at the bottom of her taught left cheek. He smiled at the view and remember how similar this situation was to earlier, only now she knew he was looking. h dabbed a bit of soap on the spot and rubbed in tiny circles sometimes widening them to where there was no sign of grease. Her ass was firm and round and as much fun as torturing her was, the effect it was having on him would be evident if he didn't stop soon.

After finishing, he stood, her back still to him. "There you go, all gone."

Lexi was firmly telling herself to stop whatever she was doing. It was stupid. She never acted this way around men. Not ever. So why suddenly was she turning into a bumbling idiot around Ethan? She had just about steeled her resolve when Ethan walked over with some soap on his hand.

She was confused at first when he kneeled before her. His nearness was making her common sense misfire or something. His face was so close to her flat belly... It made her wish this situation were somehow different... Then his hands were on her hips.

Lexi sucked in a deep breath as her entire body trembled with want. He spun her slowly until he was blatantly looking at her ass. She knew the reason now- her mind finally catching up- but he was still staring at her ass. And his hands were on it.

One of his hands was running the soap in slow circles around her, the other hand on her other hip, holding her still. It was torture to have his hands on her like that when all she wanted was for them to be on her for a different reason.

Recovering from her earlier stupor she smiled at him. "You just wanted an excuse to touch my ass" she said. She still hanger back to him and spoke over her shoulder. "Squats. Squats are what'll get you a firm ass".

She turned and looked at him thoughtfully, wanting to say something.. Something totally inappropriate for her to say to him. But she refrained from doing so. Instead, she walked over and jumped agilely into a tailgate of a truck parked in the bay, her feet kicking back and forth innocently.

"Wanna know a secret, Ethan?" She asked, looking up and into his eyes. "I hate working for my father. He expects me to be able to work some kind of miracle on this place. He already makes a ton of money, and he still wants to cut these costs and make more money. I get that. Everyone wants more money. But he pushes me so hard to make those impossible cuts that its really getting time recently. I kinda wish I could yell at him like I did you earlier" she said smirking softly.
