Un-Finished Objects that is.

I have a whole box full of sewing ones, and a whole 25 gallon tote full of yarn type ones. Some I come back to every now and then, some I think are doomed to be unfinished forever.

Mostly why I end up with U.F.O.s is because I get totally obsessed with one type of project and I'll do the icky part (which ever part I don't like to do but is nessisary) first for a whole mess of them. Well after doing a few, I get bored.

Outside of the box, I have 25 todler chemise that lack grommets and ties, and 10 that are cut but need put together. But I am totally sick of doing them.

These won't stay unfinished for ever. I'm working on something for myself right now, and then I'll probably come back to the todler stuff before moving on to adult things.

Now my yarn projects are a different story. I really love yarn projects, probably more for the feel of the yarn than anything else, but I get bored very easily.

I've even had a few of these projects end up in garage sales where some one picks them up and is thrilled to take over where I left off.

So what do you do with your U.F.O.s? Why do the get set aside? Do you ever pass them off to some one else? Or maybe you like finishing other people's?

This aplies to any sort of project. :)

I used to crochet and knit. I had lots of yarn in lots of colors. Since I hadn't made anything in a while I gave my yarn to a friend. Then earlier this year I had a desire to knit. I picked up a project I hadn't worked on in three or four years. My thought was that I was going to have to spend more money on stuff I had already bought and given away if the desire stuck. That project is still sitting under the coffee table unfinished.

When I don't finish something, especially with a painting, it's usually that I've lost interest in it. It isn't going the way I wanted it to go. I have to stop for a while because I get to busy and by the time I get back to it I've lost interest or become excited about another idea. I also stop because I don't know what to do with it next. Sometimes I go back to them and sometimes I don't. One of my last projects was one I started and then life got in the way. It turned out completely different that it would have if I had finished it at the time. It's much better. Another one recent one I stopped when I didn't know what to do with it and then an idea hit me several months later. I like it a lot more but life got in the way of finishing it.
