I'm watching it here in England. I don't get it.

a) why does he explain the punchline to all the jokes?
b) whats with the bald guy?
c) why does he talk more than the guests?

Thanks Heavystick, I get the first two, but I meant why does he speak over his guests? I just saw an interview with George Clooney and I know even less about him than I used to.

We don't get Leno, sorry, they only bought Letterman.

That is called self-deprecating humor. It's his trademark. It's his way of saying "my joke sucks so bad I have to explain it to you.

Paul is sort of the coolest of the cool geeks. Give him a chance. He grows on you.

c) why does he talk more than the guests?

He's more interesting than most of them.

That's Letterman's style or lack there of. Some guests he will do that to on purpose, other guests he will be very respectful to.

Lettermen and quests

He is really funny, he just grows on you. The Top 10 is sometimes funny... as for his quests, they are always there to promote something or another so he just takes a dig and attempts to make it funny and they always say a story about themselves.
