What is the average cost of an individual health insurance plan per year?

I read that it is between $10,000 and $15,000 annually.

Depends on whether you have your own, or an employer pays for it. Mine runs $175 a month.

There is no one price, Mike. It depends on your age. Preexisting health issues. Deductible. What you want covered. Employer paid or self. Too many variables.

I thought that most individual health plans cost over $1,000 per month.

I am 24 years old, I don't smoke or drink, not overweight, and am in impeccable health.

If you did a little research, instead of reading little snippets & taking them as facts, you'd find out how much it costs. Its not as bankrupting as people think, but the government, sticking its nose in & stirring the pot, makes it more expensive than it needs to be. It definitely costs less for a single person, than a family.

I pay 90$ a month. My employer pays the rest. I believe it comes to approximately 480$ monthly. A very good major medical plan, 1750$ deductible and 5500$ out of pocket.

In the last 3 years it has paid for almost 700,000$ worth of expenses. Anyone who says insurance is too costly to have (even at full price) cannot afford to get sick...
