Hello,

I write a story. I check it through. I read it through again. I post it. And then...

I read it again and notice stupid mistakes.

Is there a way of correcting these in stories that have already been posted?

Correct the text and go through the submission process again.

In the title box put (original title in EXACT wording) followed by EDITED.

Put a message in the Notes box that this is an edited version to replace the original.

You will keep your votes and comments.

The official answer is in the FAQs in the first post of the sticky thread Welcome Authors! Please Read at the top of the Authors' Hangout -

I've re-edited my story and want to replace the posted version with my new edited one. How do I do this?

No problem! Simply submit the new version as you submitted the old one, only adding the word "EDITED" to the title (ex. "My Sexy Firefighter Ch. 03 - EDITED") so that we know to replace the old text with the new text. We will then replace the original text with the new text. Your story will retain its previous voting score and views.

You can do as Ogg suggests. But just for one typo (unless it strategically affects the meaning of the story)? Why bother. This isn't the New Yorker.
