Do you have a favorite passion food? One that you fix to inspire an evening that will be special? I would love to trade secrets with you.

#1 PENNE in wine cream sauce with Italian sausage.
#2 Fresh Strawberrys with white wine whip cream dip.
#3 Marion Berry glazed chicken.
#4 Fresh Shrimps with fresh grilled tomatoes.
#5 Grilled steaks with my own special marinate and rub.

I will trade recipies.

Alas, I am culinarily challenged; anything I fix has to be very simple and tested before serving by a panel of experts.

However, my lover and I always share dessert, and it is usually berries in whipped cream, with maybe a little Framboise . . .

Okay. A little secret: I'm a gourmet chef. I taught myself to cook at a young age and was a TA in home ec for four years.. I could probably go to a culinary school if I wanted to make a living at it, but instead I'm training to be a trophy wife. *smirk* What else can I do when my only skills are writing, speaking french, singing, and cooking?

ANYway.

I find, actually-- when including ambiance-- eastern food can be highly sensual. Eat on pillows and burn some sandalwood incense.. Try curried chicken on couscous, or a great Armenian eggplant dish called Imon Bayaldi. Eastern spices are highly sensous on the palate and induce sort of an.. exotic, rich feel.

If you're looking for the tried-and-true, 'spaghetti' is still a great lovers' dish. Only try using angelhair pasta... and melt an anchovy (YES, anchovies melt) and some capers in garlic butter as a base for the red sauce.

Dessertwise, try brandy-soaked strawberries or cherries jubilee if you want to get a fire started. The biggest hint I could give you about cooking with alcohol, however, is this: NEVER cook with a wine you wouldn't drink. Cheap wine makes for cheap tasting food.

Hmmm let's see.

There are a number of different dishes that I make, only for that special one.
Food that I think does it well with an romantic atmosphere.

For the seafood dish I tend to go with the following:

Appetizer:
Giant prawns cooked in white wine. Served with tomato salat and a white wine sauce.
Or
Caviar with light roasted toast (Or blinis). With red onions, cremé Fraice and Salmon eggs.

Main course:
Grilled salmon with small potatos, spring onions and a light summer salat. Served with bread and hollandaise sauce.
Or
Grilled Trout, stuffed with veggies and spices of own choice, together with a little butter, salt and peper.
Baked potatos and tomato salat. Served with bread and a strong mustad sauce.

Dessert:
Strawberries with a little cream or milk.

I have another one. But that one is not to be disclosed here. There's only one way you can get to know that one :D

Oh, and I agree with Endlessly. Never use wine for food, you wouldn't drink.

endlessly I swear to god I love you-not only are you afraid of horses but you cook the way I do....melt an anchovy in oliv oil and butter then whisk in a little heavy cream and some fresh tarragon. Use that as a sauce for sea bass...mmmm.

Seafood is sensual but we are heavy duty carnivores so I do a carrpaccio(sp) with shaved parmesan and fresh basil and drizzle it with spicy olive oil.
Another big fav in our house is rice noodles drizzled with nuoc mam, then tossed with slivered jalapenos, shredded chicken, cilantro and mint...toss some chopped peanuts and eat slowly-doing the chop stick foreplay thang(I have qiute a chopstick fetish).
My hubby always feels special when I do dim sum or a Nordic inspired horsd'ouvres plate...something about all those tiny, perfect edible jewels makes him feel so loved...
As a chef I used to dream about having a sensualists' Bed and Breakfast...awesome aphrodisiacs for the meal then really wonderful hedonistic bedrooms.
If anyone wants recipes I am always glad to oblige...

*LOL* It's a good thing you love me, earthgoddess, because after reading your post I want to marry you. I've had the EXACT same idea with the hedonistic bed and breakfast! You and I should go into business..

Cook. Me cook. Never good cook.
Never take big fire. Never take big meat and drop on fire.
Never burn meat. Meat black on outside, pink on inside. Never eat.
Sometimes, Never like sweet potato, drizzled with maple syrup and cornbread.. oh and corn on the cob. Never like. Never drool all over keyboard.
