TS you have been watching too many of those 1950"s public information films. You know trains entering tunnels...big chimneys being erected and then demolished, then waves breaking on a seashore. Dear Doctor Cookie
I have a friend with the following problem:
She is in a relationship with a very nice bloke and they are both crazy about each other.
They both post frequently on a popular adult chat board, but have separate circles of friends.
Now she is a very popular poster and is considered kind, caring, giving, funny, witty and very sexy by her friends. She gets hit on all of the time in both the threads that she posts in and in pm. Most of the time a simple “I’m not interested” type of reply does the trick and other times a more direct “I’m in a relationship” type of reply eventually gets the message across.
The problem she is having now is that there are a couple of guys that just don’t know when to stop. They both know that she is in a very happy relationship, but still persist with their fruitless efforts. One of them considers himself a friend of the couple, in fact, recently he was having a major reputation issue on the boards and her boyfriend was one of the only people that stood up for him.
This is taxing their relationship because (a) she is made to feel very uncomfortable every day, and (b) her boyfriend is getting irritated by the blatant disrespect they show him.
Do they think that because her boyfriend doesn’t post on the same threads as her, they can act like this… that they have the right to say whatever they like and he won’t mind? Would posting on her threads make them realise that he really exists? Would they have the audacity to say those things directly in front of him?
So Doc, how can she put an end to this constant stalking (yes, stalking) without offending them? I’ve told her many times to be straight with them in the hope they get the message, but she doesn’t know how to without the risk of jeopardising their friendship.

I can soak and read, which is about all I can do.
