Getting a reply is not the easiest thing on the site, that is for sure, but it isn't the point either. You made an attempt to say hello, perhaps brought a smile and that is what it is about, sharing a smile.

Somewhere in the thread there is a long discussion about messages sent and never replied to, not sure how long ago it was though. People have talked a lot on the thread.

I think I was one of the commenters in that discussion bemoaning the lack of response on PMs. I think it was a week or two ago, not sure exactly.

I initiated a p.m. conversation with a lady who recently asked in this thread for a p.m. It was a lovely exchange, very above-board and pleasant; we spoke of things of mutual interest, just a touch of matters sexual. That kind of shit happens unfortunately. People leave without warning; we can only speculate why.

The ones that annoy me are the guys that ask for PMs in the request a PM threads that you find in the personals. I used to send out several a month to random guys just to see if I could find a friendly voice amongst them. And my return rate would be about 50%. The thing that burned my ass about it was the same guys that did a no-answer to my PM would pop up later in the same thread begging for a PM. What the fuck???? I guess my message wasn't up to their "standards", i.e. I didn't solicit them for cybersex So fuck them! I don't bother sending random ones anymore. Why should I even bother?

I send out PM's to various ladies here. Most reply with a cordial response.

I think many ladies are turned off with the short and somewhat rude pm's that are sent.

I do try to keep it nice and pleasant, but usually somewhat flirty.

What a great thread, thank you both! It is interesting, although some of the things in there are more for humor, it is not a bad thing to look through as it does apply I think.

Very true, I've been doing this a lot lately. Even better to send a quick "hey, I'm thinking of you" message or call. I had a friend I haven't talked to much over the last few years do that the other night. Getting to talk to her made my week.

It truly is a wonderful thing. To check on someone or have someone check on you. You can reconnect, catch up, share some laughs and smiles.

We live in a world that moves very quickly now. If we blink another day seems to have passed and we are not sure where it went. Things seem to be darker. News reports drive the bad into our heads, Covid constantly is nipping at our heels. Things just seem, well, bad. But they don't have to be. We need to take some time to look at the good things around us, smell the flowers, breath in fresh air. Just sit back and watch the stars appear. We need to remember there are many good things around us.

Take some time to take in the simple pleasures of life and find your smile. Share it with someone. Let them know you are thinking of them. Spread kindness and some positive vibes.

This is Tess Holliday. Good for conversations I think, nice for some to wake up to and will make some smile.

She is the first plus sized model ever to be given a large major contracts with current regular sized brands. I keep making adjustments to this because she wasn’t the first plus sized model, but CURRENT brands known for waif thin models took her on.

There are many time that it is hard to manage a smile, things are just not going right and they seem to be getting worse by the second. That smile just won't show itself on its own and you have to force one. And that is okay. The smile you are sharing is going to bring a real smile to another. And then they share theirs and the circle begins. And, in time, that smile that you gave becomes a smile that comes back to you, and you get to feel the corners of your lips curl up on their own. Your pretend smile came back to you as a real one and it made a real one appear. Full circle.

I know, I did this same thing a few days ago, but I was a bit lost on what to add. Then I received an email from an old Army friend and it made me think we should reach out to old friends more often. So, here it is, again. reach out and check on someone.
