Considering going to a local munch...

has anyone else ever gone to one? i'd have to go alone, which concerns me. i'm kind of shy by nature, and would like to hear a bit about some others' experiences before i decide. i would love to have some sub girlfriends locally... and i have had crappy results searching for kin online.

after a very costly relocation to New Mexico to be with a "Domme" (i use that term in quotes because she wasn't Dominant at all, and basically lied to me about how she felt about me for eight months) i moved back to the Midwest to be with my family, and joined a local yahoo/ munch group. This was the best thing i could have done. not only did i get to meet local kinksters, i also met my two Mistress's and now share a 24/7 relationship with them.

my advice is, try to find out if your local group has an online bulletin board, and if so sign up and read the posts. find out where the next munch is, and attend. they're usually in public resturants, and have a higher degree of safety than a one on one meeting, dress code varies, our group is casual and jeans and tshirts are quite appropriate. to get over your shyness, try to find a member of the local group and befriend them, and attend together, that way you know at least one person there, and they could possibly introduce you to other members.

I befriended a sub and went to the group thing with her. Made it a little easier. Most of the groups have some type of yahoo egroup you can subscribe to.
