Just an observation, but one thing I notice about political discourse is that when people resort to insults, it's a guaranteed way of never having the opposing person see your point of view. I mean, you're never going to sway anyone's vote nor affiliation with insults. Maybe it's just about the drama for dramatic people, but I feel it would be more logical to just keep opinions at the ballot box and make your proactive steps, positive ones. Negative + Negative won't = Positive.
That said, I'll be voting for the first time next election, and nothing I've read in any of these political discussions even make me want to vote for anyone. It's just disgusting and toxic. I plan to not take sides, just hear the candidates, think for myself and cast a vote and then go to work. I suspect the toxicity will just continuously move with times, making past arguments and opinions completely forgotten and worthless. What a vicious cycle, I can't see how people find happiness in that.
