Senator Craig Is Not Gay!!!!

Of course he isn't, he has "Restless Leg Syndrome" and he wasn't "peeping" he was trying to see if the stall was empty.

Understood.

As long as everyone else understands that Sen. Craig

IS NOT GAY!

What happens in the shitter stall, should stay in the shitter stall. It's an unwritten rule.

I don't understand the foot tapping thing. In the old days we used the mail. It took three days, but it was reliable, damn it.

I no longer listen to the iPod in public.

I’d say rank and homophobic hypocrisy.
I would say it is about Politics.

If the politicians thought that licking Craig's asshole would keep them in power and the good graces of their constituents, they would all be limbering their tongues up right about now.

Remember, it isn't about any kind of ideology; they just want power.

From: Think Progress

Earlier this month, Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) pleaded guilty to “misdemeanor disorderly conduct” for “lewd” sexual conduct in a men’s public restroom. In July, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) also admitted to the “sin” of a sexual crime — frequenting an escort service run by the DC Madam.

To date, five Republican lawmakers have called on Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) to resign:

Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN): “Senator Craig pled guilty to a crime involving conduct unbecoming a senator. He should resign.”

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ): “I believe that he — that he pled guilty and he had the opportunity to plead innocent. So I think he should resign.”

Rep. Peter Hoekstra (R-MI): “However, he also represents the Republican Party, and I believe that he should step down as his conduct throughout this matter has been inappropriate for a U.S. senator.”

Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN): “While additional concerns are being raised, Senator Craig already demonstrated that he is unfit to serve in the U.S. Congress when he pled guilty. I believe that he needs to step down.”

Reps. Jeff Miller (R-FL), Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL), Bobby Jindal (R-LA), and Ron Lewis (R-KY): [A handful of Republicans] urged Craig to step down…including Jeff Miller and Ginny Brown-Waite of Florida, Mark Souder of Indiana, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Ron Lewis of Kentucky.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has also stripped Craig of his committee leadership positions and called for a Senate ethics investigation into the affair.

In contrast, none of these nine lawmakers reprimanded Vitter after he admitted to soliciting a prostitute. He even received “‘thunderous applause‘ from Senate GOP colleagues during a policy lunch held a few days after his admission.”

One Republican senator is involved in soliciting sex from a man and the Republican leadership calls for a Senate investigation and yanks the rug from underneath him. Another Republican senator admits to soliciting the services of a female prostitute and there’s not only no investigation but the senator is greeted with a standing ovation by his Republican peers.

What explains the starkly different responses?
I’d say rank and homophobic hypocrisy.
Or also a little bit of "lying?"

Solicitation is illegal in nearly every state. Vitter admitted using the D.C. Madam's escort services. She is charged with running a prostitution ring, he is guilty by association and by his own admission.
UD, I know you dislike Republicans. But your going a little too far on this one.
It's not like Vetter was soliciting on the street.

Who gives a fuck if he dials an escort service.

Hell, Barney Frank had a Homo escort service, and barely a word was said.

The point is that both of these gentlemen broke the law, both should have been treated the same by their peers. But because Craig's offense was of a homosexual nature he's treated as a pariah while Vitter gets a standing ovation.

That my friend, is hypocrisy.
Not to be argumentative... :D ...

but, that is prejudice. Hypocrisy is when you say that you deplore same-gender sex and then go out and indulge in it.

Barely a word was said?!? Were you on safari or something?

I'm so glad that homo got outted. His speech to the press was hilarious and so full of shit. You're a homo that likes sucking strange men's dicks in public washrooms. Admit and move on.

politicians and prositutes...what an unlikely couple... maybe they need to go to Rev. Jackson for some spiritual advice like Bill....

I'm still mulling over the famous-person-doing-something-stupid-in-public-that-is-bound-to-make-the-papers idea and wondering how much grist for the mill we could gather on our fellow litsters if we followed them about and marked their every action. Right much stuff is my guess.

Which leads me to the thought, which is worse: the act or the hypocrisy?

The act in and of itselt doesn't bother me though I would have some considerable issues with it were I his wife. I would be very angry about his putting me at risk for STDs and jepardising his career (and thus my lifestyle). As a constituent the hypocrisy would bother me more because I would never again trust his word.

Hmmm, not trust a politician - there's a remarkable idea.
