Conservatism will be a non-entity by 2050

That doesn't sound like fascism to me. The Nazis were fascists and they sure fucking cared about a lot more than that.

The Nazis were socialists, and fascists like Roosevelt. Roosevelt put people in concentration camps, he just didnt murder them. Fascism isnt a whole hog or nuthin political policy.

The Nazis weren't fascists. The German political party NDSAP commonly known as the Nazi party was National Democratic Socialist Workers Party. That meant whatever the leaders wanted it to mean. The US equivalent would be Republican Democratic Conservative Socialist all-for-mom-and-apple-pie Party. The Nazis persecuted gays, the mentally and physically handicapped, and anyone who wasn't in favour of the master race.

The Italians had a fascist party. Their symbol, the fasces, referred back to the Roman Republic before Julius Caesar. They differed from the German Nazi party on many issues, for example they did not originally support the "final solution" of the Jewish people.

The Spanish had the Falange lead by Generallisso Franco.

All three had some things in common such as a secret police force and forcible oppression of political opponents but they also differed on many issues as well. Their overriding aims were that power was to be restricted to the party elite and national prestige was more important than international treaties.

That sounds a lot like Iran.

No one has yet shown any considerable number of Hispanic, Asian or blacks voters will ever do any of the following:

1) oppose universal health care
2) demand to keep our troops in Afghanistan or Iraq
3) support sending more jobs overseas
4) defend racial discrimination
5) build a fence to block off Mexico
6) defend globalism
7) defend the "War on Terror"
8) oppose efforts to stop global warming
9) oppose environmentalism in general
10) oppose social safety nets for the poor

I still haven't heard anyone explain which party received the majority of black, Asian or Hispanic votes in 2008. Which party did the majority of these groups vote for in 2000 or 2004?

The answer is quite clear. Very few blacks, Hispanics or Asians voted for overall Conservative candidates or Republicans in any election year. Very few ever will vote that way in the future. The trend for gay marriage is going against the Conservative mindset, according to the opinions of the under-30 crowd.

It's going to look quite ugly for Conservatives by 2050 - especially for the laissez-faire, warmongering, anti-universal health care, anti gay rights and racism crowd (that's not all of Conservatism, but it sure as hell is a huge chunk). That means LITTLEJOHNSON's tribe is going to be seriously marginalized.

Well, the reason it will be ugly for them is that they will mostly be dead. It's not just white people, it's OLD white people in the Conservative movement.

Well I didn't say it's white people. There are plenty of white liberals. The damage that demographic does to Conservatism will be magnified by the population trends by 2050.

The under-30 crowd has an issue with Obama now because he's a coward and won't bulldog the Conservatives, not because he's too far left. This bodes even more ill for Conservatism here in the near future.

I'm a "presently-30," and my only issue with obama is that he is inept for the position. I don't know which crowd that sorts me into, but I have been shaking my head since this madness began. How often can you blurt out "he's not the messiah" to people in your social circles during their cheerleading tete-a-tetes before you get sick of hearing yourself say it? ... about 10 times, really :(

I never thought he was a messiah. He's just a man.

I do, however, know for a fact that we'd be in even worse shape with McCain and Palin in office. Obama was clearly the better choice.

Pish posh! Black Jack!

You like to eat, right? Janitorial arts and carwash science and basketball dont grow grits & greens for Democrats. Conservatives do the farming....and the heavy thinking. Conservatives graduate school so they can pay welfare for Democrats and build comfortable jails for Democrats and decent streets for Democrats to sell drugzz on.

See, now, I'm going to disagree with you and say that the drug dealers and felons aren't democrats. They can't vote. They're felons. And, to make a related point, I think that even if they could vote, they wouldn't. They don't care enough about society to worry about party lines and affiliations.

I agree with you that Obama was the better choice, but I picked him for the simple fact that I hate the religious undertones of the McCain/Palin campaign. I respected McCain's service, and am grateful, but I disagreed with him on many issues, just as I disagreed with Obama on many issues.

It's sad when we have to choose the lesser of two evils. as a matter of fact, we always choose the lesser of two unless we have a common enemy (Nazi's, communists or whoever) to rally against. We loved Bush until we started hating the war on terror (at least from a soldier's POV).

Youre correct in the sense that felons are rarely good citizens and voting is not on their 'TO DO' LIST. The issue is a red herring the media uses to pump-up the Usual Suspects at election time, and make the opposition feel guilty.

We get the worst candidates and officials because public office isnt where the power and prestige is. People like Obama and Queen ELIZABETH are sock puppets and actors.

If you think about it, the most powerful people are discreet intelligent fanatics with guns. Or some gifted computer hacker able to access the files of JPMORGAN-Chase Manhattan Bank. POOOF! Back to the Stone Age we go.

Well, they might be republicans in disguise (kidding)

That, and:
College grads tend to vote Democratic.
Republicans shun college as dens of "indoctrination", plus they badmouth professors as "people who can't do, so they teach".

Liberal-voting states are net producers of welfare dollars, while Conservative-voting Red states consume more welfare dollars than they produce.

Crime is also higher in Red states.

Plus, there are a BUNCH of Republican convicts and ex-cons out there.

LITTLEJOHNSON is so far off the mark I'd want him to be my executioner at a firing squad.

Be civil, please. not agreeing or disagreeing with you, just want to keep it nice so the conversation doesn't degrade into name calling.

If he can't refer to me by my nickname then why should I afford him the same courtesy?

JAMESB has a long history of racist outbursts on here, including posts in this very thread. I refuse to be civil to people like that.
