I ran into a little problem that I could use a little help with! Everything I type groups together and I can't seperate the lines in my text. How can I fix it so that I can either put things into a paragraph form, or at least seperate my lines? And if this isn't the right place to ask please forgive me and direct me in the right direction.:)

Beats me, I haven't had any such problems.

You are talking about when entering text in the submission window here on lit right?

For some reason it appears that your "enter" or "return" key is not giving you a hard return for your typing. That's really odd.

Try typing your message out in MS Word, or AbiWord or some other word processing program, then cut and paste it to the message window. I know it's a pain in the ass to do. But I'm not enough of a computer geek to figure out what would be keeping your enter key from giving you a hard return on your lines.

< p > or < br > (without the spaces) are the html code to create paragraph breaks. You may need to use brackets [ ] rather than carrots < > for Lit's code... I'm not sure.

Unfortunately that won't work, Lit's BB code does not offer those particular tags. I like EG's suggestion of typing it up in another editor and pasting it into the Lit window, and seeing if that works.

If that doesn't work, maybe try putting a LOT of periods between your paragraphs? That's the only thing I can think of. submissiveknight, can you maybe demonstrate by trying to post two separate paragraphs, so we can see what you mean?

Can you separate the paragraphs if you edit the post and then re-save it?

PS: This is a caret: ^ These are greater-than and less-than signs, or angle brackets: < > These are square brackets: [ ] :)

Nope tried that doesn't work with tags:( Did think about word, but that is such a pain in the ass. I'll try that and see if it works though!:)

How are you getting to this site? Are you coming from a normal html format, or are you using some other form?

And, is your ISP AOL, by chance? Not that it is a problem, but there are sometimes problems within how an ISP shows things like this. I've seen AOL show web sites with a distict difference than other ISPs.

What works and what doesn't is key in a situation like this. You might mention if you are using a certain version of Windows, or if it's a Mac OS or something else. Mention what browser you are using and the version. It shouldn't make any difference, but stranger things have happened.

The suggestion to type your message in some other word processor first, and then to copy to the post is a good way to start. It might not be a final answer, but it could give someone who's seen this problem before the necessary information to find the ultimate answer.

And, if you don't have MS Word, or something like that, typing your post in a plain text box, then pasting to the thread could also be a test.

Ok I think I have it now
I had my options set wrong, hell i never even looked at them now I have a new toy to play with :nana: now I just got to figure out what to do with all this bullshit up top here now and see how I can get it to work easier:confused: Thank You everyone for helping :)

*runs very far away from the rich text editor, very fast*

*hugs her plain text editor*

Glad you got it working!

I have a ME with explorer6.0 I think, and DSL but the server is a sticks ISP out of East Texas LOL Could that be it!!! Ancient I know! But at least I have one even though it barely works. I'm the only 1 in family who can keep it going.
My Mistress has the good one, but when I get Her a better one I get Hers:) The kids can have this one :p
