Condoms?

Hi, I've posted about half a dozen stories now, and I noticed a few of the earlier pieces were attacked because the sex described wasn't safe. I included condoms in my recent submissions but got feedback about how they brought an unwelcome shot of reality. I accept the negative feedback was justified, concerning the way the condom was introduced, but I just wondered about people's thoughts on this.

The stories are clearly fantasies, so do writers have a duty to make the sex safe?

some like it safe...

Personally, I like it hot. Your duty is to give me a hard-on, Emisweetie, and you do that!

I find myself resentful and quite annoyed at having to use condoms in real life. Therefore, I view condoms in stories as an unwelcome shot of reality. I know there are people who feel differently.

I say "no".

These stories are fantasies . In a fantasy there are no such things as unwanted pregnancies or STDs.

Sometimes reality sucks, and if we can escape such things for the duration of time that it takes to read an erotic story, why not?

unprotected

God, of course it would be nice to think that all would be rapists carried a clean thingy in their pockets in case they got lucky
but how many girls bought a packet before they walked home alone in the dark ?

am i the only one who finds the expression "unprotected" adds a deep frisson of excitement about the whole unseemly primitive event
without which Hermione, we may as well finish the episode of Neighbours and sweep up the crumbs of Maderia cake before decorously tumbling on the rug....

"too many English make love on their elbows"..and that, i suppose, is why we do have to vacuum up the toast and cake crumbs:(

I find stories boring if they're not realistic. Who would want to read about pneumatic bimbos and studs? I can't imagine anyone getting off on porn. A good fantasy says this could happen to me. It has to be naturalistic, detailed, and believable; so if condoms make it more believable, they're better in than out.

No-one has a moral responsibility to espouse anything. Unsafe sex is fine: it happens. Anything that really happens is good material for stories. But a good story will be realistic about whatever happens: unprotected sex should show whatever frisson, danger, or moral problems it might really have, if any, in those circumstances.

Hi emi,
Didn't mean to cause such a stir. I've used condoms in my stories on occasion. Usually for character development rather than a safe sex issue. These are little words strung together. I'm pretty sure you can't get diseases from reading them. I mean, we're here to tittilate each other aren't we? To those who sent you nasty feedback over this issue, I say wear a little plastic when you read if you want to, let the rest of do as we will.

I have put condom use into my chyoo.com stories when the action is particularly realistic, when I want to make sure the male is thoughtful, when the female is not on birth control, or some combination. So the decision is driven by situation and character development. Many of the stories are fantasies where few condoms occur.

I don't get skeeved out by condoms, either in stories or RL. But I gotta say that I love those times when I can go without one.

P.S. I've used condoms as my main birth control for twenty-five years. Only one girlfriend was on the pill.

Right, in fantasies the women WANT to ge pregnant. <g>

Clearly there are different ideas of fantasy. To one it's something nice that might happen, but just happeens no to have. For others it something not nice that migh happen. For me, usually, it's somethig that woud be nice if the world were different than it is, e.g that rich sexy women seduce innocent young guys to get pregnant over and over.

Metaphors

Maybe it's a matter of metaphors.

Just as a penis may be described in some bizarre narratives as a 'purple helmeted warrior' or 'a pillar of masculinity', maybe the people who didn't like condom references just need metaphors.

It's not a condom it's a

'a latex sheath'

'an STD prevention envelope'

'a love balloon'

'a hollow wooden horse' (Trojan)

And what's a diaphram? A sperm trampoline?

:D

:D My stories are pretty imaginative, to think that the protag, a rather ordinary fat, bald middle-aged man would be having great sex with a whole army of women. Inside that context, I try to make the stories as realistic as I can. The protag often mentions Viagara and always uses lube for anal sex. The descriptions of the female climaxes are rather extravagant but, since I try to write for women, this is allright. For oral sex, condoms are not used. For anal or vaginal sex, gay or straight, they almost always are unless one of the couples has a long-term relationship going. They are never used with toys. As I said, inside the basic context, I try to be realistic and that includes condoms.

Birth control in erotica is the same thing as a seatbelt in a car chase movie.

I would say that it depends on the context of the story. If you're posting a fantasy fantasy, then condoms can be done away with; if your protagonist is a 18 year old boy balling the entire cheerleading squad then, yeah, a condom (or a box of them) is inappropriate... its not something that would likely be thought of in context.

On the other hand, if you're writing something that you want to have a more realistic edge... two people with significant others having a furtive meeting, for example... then a condom is a good thematic device to show that, indeed, these are "real" people who have real motivations for what they're doing. Even the act of getting a condom can be played up for suspense... if, for example, someone is tied down and can't see why the other person left, or if someone puts the condom on themselves or their partner in an erotic fashion.

Condoms, and the delibrate lack of their use, can even be a further thematic device. A rapist offered a condom who refuses is a real asshole*, worthy of our hatred... the story should reflect that. A woman who insists on sex even though a condom isn't present should have a reason... she may not care, she may be trying to get pregnant, or she may just be really dying for some, but there should be a reason behind the refusal.

Really, I can't see why someone would complain if a fictional character failed to practice safe sex, so long as their doing so made sense for the story.

*Not, of course, than an earnest, real-life rapist isn't a real-life asshole... but having just submitted a story where the protagonist more or less forces a woman to have sex at knife-point, I really can't say much about more fictional rapists... and besides, he used a condom.

There is nothing more sensual than the feeling of an unprotected penis sliding slowly into a well lubricated vagina.

So if you want to excite your readers - keep condoms out of the story.
You won't find this kind of realism in my work - I'm all for vivid fantasy that increases the heart rate and raises the 'baton'.

When you fuck with a condom, you don't feel a thing! If anyone say otherwise, he's lying! Sex with a condom is like swimming with a rain coat and rubber boots! It is like a joke completely! You give a blowjob without a condom but don't fuck without one! You get your pussy licked without a condom but you don't fuck without one! If anyone is to get the V.D. that will be the man! And the woman can also get something from the blowjob. Hell for all I know you can get it from the saliva you exchange! I think the onley purpose of a condom is to make millions of dollars and keep people fucking strangers. That way there is no emotions and feelings! That way we have more divorces and more money for the lawyers!

Personally I hate the condom even though I used it to protect from pregnancy. But I like to get to know the person I have sex with first inside! And then I can do it without a condom once the feelings are mutual. Make love, not sex! Sex lasts for ten minutes but love lasts for ever! Even when the person is gone.

If you meet someone and you get to know that person and get to the point of trust, a million one night stands can't be compared with the feelings you get from that one person!

'sexyramlo' You clearly have not tried enough condom brands. The fact is, condom's aren't custom made you have to use trial and error before you find the right one for you. They are different sizes, different thickness...etc. It also is often essential to apply a silicon lubricant to the outside and inside of the condom. Once this is done, you often find that the feeling is astonishingly similar to no condom.

There are also female condoms. Now, they have the drawback of looking ridiculous; but if you can hold back the guffaws of laughter they feel much better for both people than regular condoms. They're also more expensive, as is good lubricant, but fun safe sex is a great way to spend money.

You guys still haven't got my point! You see sex as fun only! But it is not just sex that is important but the souls that connect during the penatration. And it is not safe to lick a pussy or a dick without a condom so where is safe sex? I have tried tons of condoms even with lubricants and it never feels the same. No sensation! You might as well get a vibritor and fuck your self! It will be just the same feeling as it will be when you do it with someone you have no feelings for and won't remember his or her name. You know how many people get V.D's and HIV even though they where condoms? Now for the industry being involved and generally the entire system, that is a fact! They don't give a shit about us! All they want is our money! An example is the cigarette industry. When you light one and leave it on the ashtray, it will burn down all the way! You know why? If you look at the paper that is rapped around the tobacco, you will see very thing lines all the way down. Those circles contain a chemical that you inhale and causes the paper to burn down. That way you will smoke more and buy more! I have tons of facts and not conspiracy theories about the industries!

As for female condoms they don't protect the woman from any deseases. Do you know that?

Hi, Sexyramlo, You don't seem to have gotten the point of this site. I write pornographic stories and people read them and, I hope, enjoy reading them. Most of the stories on here are about sex for fun. I have one story about a newlywed couple on their wedding night but everything else I write is about people having sexual fun and the same applies to most of the stories that others write. I will readily concede that there is more to sex than just fun but, with the one exception, I just write about the fun part of it.

By the way, even among soulmates, sex is fun.

Personally, I have fucked with a condom and without one and it is more fun without one. Like most persons, I consider condoms to sometimes be a necessary negative. I won't say evil because it is not that bad of a thing.

Hey, Brothers Cum: Are you serious about applying lube to the outside of a condom? For anal sex, yes, you need it. For vaginal sex only an insensitive oaf or a rapist would use lube. You should never make the insertion until the woman is sufficiently aroused to provide her own lubrication. The only lube to use there is saliva, and that is with direct application to her vagina, preferably until she has climaxed from that application.:p

I don't consider the condom evil either! And of course these are stories! But is it fun when you come in a condom or in a pussy? Come on they are just stories! Listen to this sentence of a story with a condom!

"He was looking at her eyes when he was about to come! He shout ""I am coming"" and she replies ""I can feel your cum inside me?"""

HE!HE!HE!
What a joke!

I am not trying to be rude but I just beleive in Sex between people that know eachother rather than "masturbating" in someones Pussy or Mouth till I cum and forget her name.

And something that I forgot to write before! If you lube a condom inside and outside, with two or three strokes in her pussy and the condom will just slide off! Who is this person who Lubes a condom in and out?

Personally, I think sex is more fun without a condom but not so much more to be worth the risk that somebody might be running.

Most of my stories involve a rather unattractive, middle-aged man who is immensely popular with women and is considered to be something of a sex therapist. Once this extremely unlikely scenario has been accepted, I try to make my stories as realistic as I can, and this includes condoms, because that is the way things would actually happen.

George Boxlicker, my protag, actually has relationships with all his "lady friends", and because his sex life is so varied, he uses a condom for all but oral sex and sex with Zuzie or Tomiss from the planet Zoop. All the participants in all the stories are extremely satisfied.

The brothers cum wrote about lubing a condom inside and out. Inside, maybe, to help it roll on easily. On the outside for anal sex because there is no natural lubricant that I would want to think about, but never for vaginal sex except probably with a prostitute who would not be lubricating.

Sexperimentation

People, it seems absurd to me that all of you have only considered lubricants as an anal sex option. This is not what they are made for -- just one possible use. They are enhancers like french ticklers! I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I am one of the organisers of 'Amour et seduction' an annual Montreal sex fair and often we face people who have never considered certain creative ways to make their sex life more exciting.

If you want to have sex for more than an hour for example, lubricants help to avoid chafing. No matter what sex you're having, like sex toys, sensual oils, feathers, multiple positions, fruit...etc, they just add a new dimension. My personal favorite is ID Glide but some women are allergic to silicon, so water based is often the best option.

There is a lot of info about lubricants at http://www.mypleasure.com/education/sexed/lubricant.asp
and http://nawtythings.com/lubs.html

The most significant paragraphs to this discussion are:

"Although lubricants have been used for centuries to smooth the way for masturbation and anal play, many couples don't realize how great lubricants are when having vaginal intercourse. Many women think that if they aren't "wet," they aren't aroused enough - or there's something wrong with them. Not true! A woman's body naturally becomes lubricated when she's aroused, but often doesn't produce enough moisture to last the duration of her sexual play. However, a shallow handful of lube applied to the penis and vaginal canal will ease penetration and make the whole experience more enjoyable for both partners." from Slippery Sex, by Tamar Love

"Everybody at some time is going to need a lubricant and for some sexual activities it an absolute MUST. For women, there are times that the body just does not generate enough vaginal fluid and many things can affect this - time of the month, stress, recent child birth, antihistamines, decongestants, menopause, antidepressants, antihypertensives and cardiac agents. All of these things can contribute to vaginal dryness. Under any of these circumstances a lubricant will make vaginal penetration more pleasurable. In this age of safer sex the use of a lubricant on the inside of a condom can make the sensations delivered to the penis much stronger. Anyone that is using some adult sexual aid should consider a lubricant because of the dryness of the materials that adult toys are made from. "

'Good Vibrations', the best book about sex ever written (sort of the modern Kama Sutra) also has a lot of interesting suggestions about lubricants for vaginal intercourse. Don't be skeptical; try it. You won't regret it.

PS: The people who equated my 'sex with lubricants' suggestion to rape, or thought I was saying they should be used on women who aren't aroused were missing my point. Like sex toys, lubricants are best purchased and decided to be used as a couple. Also, sexy ramlo, who believes the condom would slip off is mistaken as well. I've used lubricants frequently in many different situations (never anal sex by the way) and that has never happened. Mind you, you only use a few drops of lubricant, not a gallon.

PPS: I feel like Dr. Laura or something:rolleyes:

The problem with artificial lubricants for vaginal sex is that, when combined with her natural lubrication, it is excessive and the cock is liable to slip out frequently. If, for some reason, there is not enough lubrication, saliva should have been used. It is best for all parties when applied directly with the tongue. On those rare situations when neither her natural lubrication nor saliva is enough, then something else might be needed.

One other problem with artificial lubrication is that it might damage the taste. I like to fuck, using a condom, and then eat her pussy afterward. This is not a creampie because the condom would keep my semen from mixing in. After intercourse, her pussy is very wet and sensitive and delicious and the artificial lube might spoil this. :p

This is going to be my last thread on this because I am getting pissed.

Sex is natural! Sex is human! Lubricants are artificial. If there is no contact between the flesh then I don't think you can consider this sex. It is worse than masturbating. Having a woman next to you and not beeing able to feel her is frustrating. At least when I masturbate I know I am fantasizing about the feeling her vaginal walls.
I like to taste the natural liquids coming down my partners pussy and not flavors that you find in the fridge as strawberry and cherry and etc. This even makes things I say more reasonble. It is the industries that brain wash us and make us beleive what we say today.

Soul connection is the best sex and all the rest is just a masturbation. Magazines, TV... I am not going to name any but they all tend to push us to cheating as if a one night stand is harmless( until the wife or husband find out). We have 5 divorces average per person in the US and that is because there is never a marriage but a contract!

Anyway I am getting too deep and that will bring other issues out. You all have a point in protection but at the end it is meaningless when you can have it without a condom!

Oh!If you lub a cock and put a condom on it will come of unless you fuck a pit hole. If you have sex with a normal woman that has normal sex and her vagina is tight, the condom will come off, maybe not immediately but it will.
