What was your first?

Most memorable?

why?

My first was Billy Joel when he was just starting out.

Aerosmith at the Boston Garden, (the old Garden), New Years Eve in '94.

Holy Shit! Was that really 14 years ago?

First: the Doobie Brothers. I was 13, and I'm still amazed that my parents let me go - I don't think they realized what a doobie was. :D

Most memorable: Ozzy.

I saw the Oak Ridge Boys in my high school auditorium for an optional assembly. Does that count?

My first was the Doobie Brothers farewell tour or something. They were splitting up, and I think it was 1981 or 82.

God, I'm old.

First was in Leeds to see Robin Trower. Not only one of the greatest guitarists I've seen but his vocalist, James Dewar was probably the best blues voice I've ever heard. The second concert I went to was about 3 days later in Birmingham (West Midlands) to see him again.

The most memorable was seeing The Undertones at Leeds University just before they got really big. Less than a hundred in the audience pogoing about and watching Feargal Sharkey dodging phlegm from the twats in the pit.

First was Michael Bolton with Celine Dion opening (hey, it was a free ticket ... )

Fave was Blue Man Group or Trans-Siberian Orchestra... love them both.

First concert was a twinbill with Three Dog Night opening for The Beach Boys -- it was their first concert after the death of Dennis Wilson, so even Brian showed up for a few songs.

Most memorable -- Farm Aid (the original) ... so many great performers in one place, one very long day.

I think it was Led Zeppelin. I was in high school and also saw the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Alice Cooper and a few others.

The Eurythmics was memorable for the setting - an amphitheater on the Mississippi River with the city skyline as backdrop. Alice Cooper was memorable for the transition. They took a break, the stage was dark and classical music was playing. Slowly, the instruments playing the music changed to guitars, drums and the lights went from dark, to dim, to bright and all of a sudden the band had returned and was playing this classical music a bit before segueing into a Cooper song. Very nicely done, kind of magical.

First was a festival here in TO. Black Sabbath, Three Dog Night, Peter Frampton and about a dozen other bands I can't remember.

I go to a concert about once a decade. I hate the noise and the crowds.

My first was Ozzfest in 1997 ay Giants stadium. We got there a little late, came in during Fear Factory, but that was ok because I didn't know who they were yet.

Most memorable was probably Slipknot and Machine Head. The place was a mad house. We were so out of control they mentioned us when a friend of mine saw them a week later up in Connecticut. We didn't stay for Coal Chamber, but it was still money well spent.

Either that or March Metal fest at Asbury Park. I bumped into some girls that I used to work with, saw about three dozen bands, had a lot of fun, enjoyed the hell out of E Town Concrete even though I didn't know any of their songs at the time, and just loved the whole atmosphere of the place.

I haven't been to a show in a long time, since December of 2000. Not sure when I will be to another one either.

First? Don't remember. I'll have to think about that.

I went to classical concerts with the Boy Scouts. I remember a visit to Sadler's Wells Ballet at Sadler's Wells. We went in Scout uniform and had a backstage tour before the performance. At first I couldn't be sure who was more embarrassed, us or the ballerinas. Once they understood that we were genuinely interested and had been given some preparation about what ballet was about they demonstrated some of the movements and positions. The memorable thing that impressed most of us was the muscular development of the male dancers. I wasn't surprised. One of my distant relations was a ballet dancer.

Memorable:

1. The Yardbirds (with Eric Clapton) at a private party. We were outnumbered by the group and roadies.

2. The first public appearance of The Cream

3. Live jazz in Battersea Park in the early 1960s, almost every week throughout the summers.

4. Andres Segovia in Melbourne, Australia

I think my first was the Beach Boys. Maybe America. For a while, the Padres would have bands come and play after a game a couple times a year. The Beach Boys became an annual tradition, usually on Memorial Day to "open" the summer.

Most memorable? I ain't touching that... too many great shows. Now, I will say that my all time favorite live band is U2. I've seen them several times and will always be up for seeing them again.

My first concert was actually Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops when I was about 4 or 5. We regularly went to the symphony when I was a kid and my dad was crazy about music. I saw various bands and musicians at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The first (and still probably most memorable) concert on my own was the first Texxas Jam in 78, featuring Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, Heart, Journey, Mahogany Rush, Eddie Money and more that I can't remember off the top of my head. I went to the next 4 Jams and saw Styx, Santana, Rush, Joan Jett, Uriah Heep, Blue Oyster Cult, Sammy Hagar, Foghat, REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, the Eagles... and many more. They all run together so I can't tell you which one was which year, LOL, but they were all a blast.

I was raised on the classics but rarely went to any concerts. Driving into downtown LA was always such a hassle. Bus concerts to Hollywood Bowl are wonderful and we'd go a lot more often if there was any possibility of getting Hot Mama's work schedule to coincide with what we want to hear. I tell you, though, right after Fellowship of the Ring came out, the LA Phil did a Bowl concert of movie music. You want your kids to appreciate the classics? Start 'em on film scores. The audience was full of 'teens and 'tweens and they all were wrapt. For that reason alone I'd call that concert my most memorable, even it didn't include the 1812 with cannon and fireworks. Y'gotta love Tschiachowsky.

My first was in the 6th grade. We weren't very good back then. :p

My most memorable had to have been the 2003 Concerto concert. It was amazing being up there in front of all those people and showing them the fruits of two years of hard work. Then at the end possibly my favorite person in all the world came up to me, presented me with the customary roses and gave me a big hug. It was incredible.

First was some radio stations 4th of July thing in 1992. Most memorable was either 93 or 94 Lollapalooza in AZ. There with old high school friend of Metallica that ditched us all to hang in their tour bus for an hour or so...we were understanding of the situation, but still pissed.

First: Around -95-ish. A local ska-punk band at high school that my classmate played the drums in. Surprisingly good.

Best: It's a tie. Both were actually televised and have clips on Youtube, so here be links.

Hoven Droven 2001. This awesome madness is what the term "folk rock" should be about.

Lamb 2002. Rock festivals are awesome. Especially when you're a little older and go there for the music instead of getting stoned on a campling lot. I went there to see a bunch of bands I liked, and ended up in front of these guys that I'd never heard of, only because I happened hear that the lead singer was supposed to be pretty cute. Turned out to be the most inspiring, quirky and unexpectedly beautiful music act of the last decade. Not something for everyone, but probably what have inspired my own music more than anything. And yeah, she was seriously cute.

Can't remember the first.

Oscar Peterson is probably the most memorable, could that man croon as he played.

Memorable for other reasons are Kenwood House concerts, open air, picnic, ducks quacking, fireworks.
