It means I have to come to your house and fix it. Others may make this same offer, but only I can do this. Yet others may offer you a long distance fix. To which I say Phooy. Don't believe them. They are attempting to lead you down the garden path.

LOL, Carp:)!!! I believe you, how do you feel about a trip to sunny but cold Toronto???

Okay, here's the picture link

from.parcol2.0001.ImageFile[1].jpeg

Since I'm in Sunny but Cold Minnesota, it should be fine.

Actually, try right clicking on the file and see if you have an "open with" option. If so, choose some other listed application to open the file with.

It means it won't open it. You Cannucks are really silly sometimes.

He calls us silly, yet spells Canucks with 2 "n"s. :p

try right clicking on it and save it to your hard disk. change the .jpeg to .jpg and then try to open it from your computer.

The exact error message is:

Windows cannot find Netscape.exe
This program is needed for opening files of type JPEG Image

Sorry. Should have added- if that doesn't work, open some random folder, go to help, and search for "associating files" this will tell you how to change a jpeg from opening with netscape to open with the program of your choice.

Yeah it wouldn't let me save it as anything else. I shall try your suggestion now. ;)

It is SUPPOSED to be a treat for me. Now start whacking her bare bottom....

I have windows 2000, but I think this works pretty much the same in all windows products.

To associate a file extension with a file type

Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
Click the File Types tab.
Click New.
Type a new or existing file name extension, and then click Advanced.
In File type, click New to create a new file type that is associated with the file name extension. Or, click one of the existing file types.
Notes

To open a Control Panel item, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click the appropriate icon. Or, in Windows Explorer, click Tools, and then click Folder Options.
For information about how to make modifications to the file type, see Related Topics.
To change the program that opens a file, on the File Types tab, click Change.

This has happend to me once when I had both netscape and IE installed.

Make sure Netscape is NOT set as your default browser.
If it is set as you default browser, whatever picture you wanna view in IE is gonna want to open in Netscape.

Bah, I'm hopeless still doesn't work.

Yes, I tried changing it but it wouldn't let me right click and save.

All this started happening after I removed Netscape and then reinstalled. I reinstalled the 4.6 as opposed to the newer one, would that make a diff?

Hmmm...I don't think it is...since IE opens when I sign on, but how do I check that.

And yes, I am really that stupid when it comes to this stuff.

When you reinstalled netscape it probably put it in a different directory which is why it cant find netscape.exe

You really just need to change the file association for .jpeg

what version of windows do you have?

of course you could have her rename it and resend it....

me know :)

two ways

open IE and go to file and press open and browse till you find the jpeg file

or to fix it

go to my computer - folder options - file types (scroll down to jpeg) - press change - select IE - give sexy-girl a kiss :)

Yes. It is the file association that needs to be changed.

Your computer keeps track of what program is used to open a particular file. It determines this by the file extension. THe suggestion of saving the file, and renaming it to jpg is a workaround that may or may not work.
When you re-installed netscape, the file extension/program link was broken. You can fix this by changing the program used to open files with an extension of jpeg.

What operating system do you have?

(See. I told you I would have to go there to fix it)

Were you able to follow the instructions I gave above? If not, we can try to track someone down who has the same operating system as you and step you through it there. You also might try to search for just "associate".

Okay hmmm, I gotta admit that it sounds like a browser setting hickup.

Try going into IE, click on "tools" then internet options. Under the flip "Programs" check at the bottom of the window, to see if IE is set as your default browser.
If not, Check the box and try again.
