Please help!!!!!!!! I am having problems with my monitor. Sometimes when it is on standby and I move the mouse or press a button it will not come out. I have to turn the computer off to get the monitor to come on. This of course means turning it off without shutting down first. I checked the setting they seem to right. This had happened with my old monitor too, then it just gave out completly. This monitor is less then a year old. Is it my computer somehow ruining my monitor?

It could be something to do with your graphics card.

Was it the same one in use with the old monitor?

Do you have the drivers correctly installed? Try reinstalling them they might have been damaged.

I presume you're using a PC. If you're using a Mac, PM me and I'll try to help you further (as I know little about PCs, but don't worry Wierd Harold will be along in a minute :D ).

It may be that your video card (or the video section of your motherboard) is not working right.

You can try changing your power management options to keep the monitor on all the time or change how it handles blanking the monitor.

It could be that your monitor is just not compatible with your video card -- lacking the "green" features that allow it to be turned on by the video card.
